We’ve made a GREAT DECISION! – Limon Update October 2023

We thank God so much for your life, because you have been a great blessing to Mexico partnering with us in His work. Working together has been great and we clearly see the hand of God in it. Thank you for your support in prayer and finances. Without a doubt, the Lord will reward you for everything He has done here in Mexico!

We want to share with you great news that will lead us to advance in God’s plan to fulfill the great commission in Mexico and in the world!

Calvary Culiacan’s pastors

As you know, God has called us to plant churches with the goal of making disciples in all nations. We have been doing this for 8 years in Culiacan, Mexico. The initial vision was to plant 4 churches in the North, South, East, and West of the city. This vision has already been fulfilled much further as God has led us to plant 10 churches which are growing and prospering. The big question is, “what’s next?” The vision has grown to plant churches in Mexico and the world, and the decision we have just made will take us there!

For almost 3 years, we have been praying and asking for advice about the possibility of taking the leadership of a church in Mexico that God has used in a great way. After applying Proverbs 11:14 (in the multitude of counselors there is safety) praying, and seeking the face of God, we want to confirm that we are taking this great step of faith that will undoubtedly be a great challenge and at the same time be a great opportunity to advance in God’s plan.

The church we will be leading is Horizonte Ensenada. For many years, I have developed a deep friendship with Pastor Juan Domingo; we have prayed together for this beloved church in Mexico. The proposal is to be the senior pastor of the Horizonte Ensenada church, to lead the church in the Word of God, in the Calvary Chapel vision, and in planting churches. In addition, I will take the leadership of the bible institute, along with the great team of directors and staff that we have.

Another important point is that I will not leave the leadership of the churches in Culiacan. We will move to live in Ensenada, but I will continue to travel once a month to Culiacan to host our monthly meeting with the pastors and church planters, and to teach at the Sunday services. I will continue to foster churches and we will continue to plant more through our Church Planting School. All the church plants, including Calvary Culiacan Norte (the church I have been directly pastoring), are ready for this step. Each church has its team of pastors trained and ready to move forward in the vision.

We know the challenge that this represents, but we clearly see the hand of God in it. Pastor Juan and his wife Tania have been very loving and attentive, trusting that God will work through my wife and me.

I was in Horizonte a few days ago. I taught at the two Sunday services and I met the great group of faithful servants who gave me a wonderful welcome and are very willing and expectant for what is to come. I thank God very much for Pastor Juan Domingo and all the staff of Horizonte. I understand that this is a step of faith for them. It encourages me a lot to see the great potential that exists in this beloved church that has the desire to serve God with all its heart. I am also very grateful for the team of pastors and church planters in Culiacan. They are undoubtedly servants of God who are committed to His work. It has been great to see them grow and advance in God’s plan.

Enjoying fellowship at Horizonte Ensenada

The plan is the following: On November 1st, in the meeting with all the staff of Horizonte, I will be taking the leadership of the church, but it will not be until the first Sunday of January that it will be made official to the entire church. It will be done this way to carry out a smooth transition and that the church does not feel the change very strongly. I will be moving to Ensenada from this day on and will be traveling to Culiacan frequently. My wife and children will remain in Culiacan until mid-December so Joy can finish her ballet school and then they will move to Ensenada.
BECAUSE OF THIS I ASK YOU PLEASE NOT TO SHARE THIS NEWS YET.

Please help us to pray fervently about this:
• For the churches and pastors of Culiacan, especially Calvary Culiacan Norte. For this change and for them to continue working, fulfilling the great commission and planting churches
• For the Calvary Horizonte Ensenada church and all the staff, for this transition, for them to adapt to change and for a genuine revival that shows hunger for His Spirit and His word
• For Pastor Juan and his wife Tania, may God give them times of refreshing and strengthen their health
• For our family, especially for Brenda and our children Joy and Judá, may they adapt to the change and God give them new friends, it has not been easy for them, especially for Joy, but she is willing to do it for God.
• For a house to live in Ensenada, house rents are very high, but we know that God will provide
• For our finances needed for this change

Thank you very much! If you have any questions you can call me or send me a message.

Blessings from Mexico,

Pastor Hugo, Brenda, Joy, and Judá Limón

Returning To Our First Love – Gaona Update October 2023

Africa! To some it may sound scary, dangerous or full of disease. But to us, it is the first place we traveled overseas 15+ years ago where the Lord opened our eyes to the great needs in the world both spiritually and physically and it forever has our hearts. It was in Midigo, Uganda (a 95% Muslim community) where we fell in love with the people and beauty of Africa in the midst of some of the most extreme poverty and spiritual darkness on earth and God called us to GO!

This summer, after many years focusing on Asia, an open door for our family to return to Africa was made possible. Where do we even start….

Gather Them All

We were requested to host a conference for the entire church! As hundreds filled the sanctuary at CC Midigo, praises filled the room, Bond was able to share the Word on the theme “Answering the Call of God.” God has a call on each one of our lives and it is up to us to say YES and obey whether we are a school teacher, farmer, business person, or pastor.

Conference at CC Midigo

Heather was able to share with the ladies as part of the Women’s Fellowship. There is something about the simplicity of teaching under a tree with chickens walking through the time of study that makes us smile. The women were eager to grow and not settle for mediocre, but they just need instruction and thankfully God’s Word has it all for us!

Women’s Fellowship

Breanna and her classmates had focused on Africa and raised funds to minister to the children at the school in Uganda. We hosted an outreach and Breanna was able to see all of the hard work she had put forth, bless other children. The kids all heard about God’s great love for them, His beautiful purpose for their lives, we played games, prayed for them and got to give them a snack and soda which is a rare treat! The fun part was they invited Breanna to be a part of the dance team for the school assembly and without any prompting she joined in and wowed the kids with her moves! In addition, Breanna got to distribute school supplies to many children and give outdoor equipment for the school. As her parents, we were so overjoyed to see her engage in so many ways with the kids and to represent her own school and the Lord well.

God’s Word Never Fails

What started as discipleship classes many years ago, blossomed into a School of Ministry and has now become a Bible College that is equipping men for ministry. Bond was able to spend his days and any free time he had instructing and teaching the book of Daniel. It was exciting to meet the new class and next generation of leaders that will serve the Lord and be sent out. Equipping people in the Word is our passion and to be able to do that in a region that is moving the needle and taking ground for Christ is absolutely remarkable. Please pray for the bible college students, missionaries, pastors and leaders that are serving in the bush!

With our African summer coming to a close, we turn our hearts and sights to the fall. We will be heading to Nepal in November and then flying to S. Asia to close out the year. We will be teaching the students at two CBI campuses, meeting with all of the national pastors, hosting graduation ceremonies, scouting new areas for future church plants, lifting up the arms of our brothers and sisters who serve in unreached areas and sharing good news along the way. These regions have endured tremendous persecution in recent days and we must be careful in what we share while we are away, so please pray for a fruitful time and that we would finish 2023 well for God’s glory!

We marveled at God’s faithfulness as we sat down to share just a snippet with you from our African summer. There are students, bible college grads, pastors, women and children who have turned from darkness to light. There are churches and villages and remote regions where there was not one Christian and now the light of Jesus is now shining and churches are thriving causing radical change to communities. You are a part of that! Your partnership, prayers, financial support and encouragement make it all possible. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

With Love,

Bond, Heather and Breanna

In the Midst of A War – Campos Update October 2023

“For if you remain completely silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”
‭‭Esther‬ ‭4‬:‭14‬ ‭

I am writing this update with a heavy heart knowing all that has been happening in Israel. As you all know, the devastation has caused many lives to be lost since Israel was attacked. First and for most I want to thank you all for your prayers. You have no idea how much your prayers helped me in a time like this. I am now back in the States.

When Israel was attacked, the students and I heard about it Saturday morning and we found out that people from the church who we had met were called in to fight. We began to pray for them and for the nation. After we got done with prayer Pastor Steve, who is the head of CBI, showed us a bomb shelter near the house so if in any case something were to happen near our location (as we were 45 minutes from the Lebanon border and about 3 hours from Gaza), we knew where to go. Through this whole situation Steve was keeping us well informed with updates and he insured us we were safe. He has lived in Israel for many years and has faced similar situations like these before and I trusted his leading and guidance.

On the second day of war, the girls moved in with Steve and his wife at their house and the boys decided to stay in the house we were all living in. Me and another girl stayed in Steve’s safe room that was in his house. A safe room is a structure that is strong enough to provide safety against catastrophic events. The newer houses have safe rooms built in, as this is common in areas like these. Below is a picture of the safe room.

In the first couple of days of the war breaking out, the Lord showed me my life is not my own, that I was bought at a price; that if something were to happen, I needed to trust Him and that He was in complete control. As more days passed, the Lord began to show me, I was right where he wanted me to be and what He needed me to do was to intercede for His people, for His nation and that’s exactly what I did.

That is where Esther 4:14 comes in. When I read that scripture and read the ending “…yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?” God spoke to my heart, in a time like this being in the midst of a war, I was in Israel to be used by Him through prayer. There was such authority and boldness in my prayers that could only have come through the Holy Spirit; this was a very special time for me.

In the Safe Room

On a Wednesday night we went to a prayer meeting to a pastor’s (one of Steve’s friends) house that was 30 minutes away from home. Within 20 minutes of our arrival, the sirens went off and we all went to the safe room. You can image the amount of thoughts that went through my mind as I sat in this room with 20 people. News had gone out that the North was under attack by armed ultralight aircraft carrying armed terrorists; which we later found out that it was a false report. As I sat there without my phone, all I could think about was my mom and the last message I sent her was “I love you,” but I wanted to say it one more time and I couldn’t. Then I thought about the pastor who was teaching and going through the Word of God as we sat in this room, “I want to be as strong in the faith as this guy. How can he be so calm? How can he be teaching God’s Word right now when someone can potentially come for all of us? Just a day ago he got pulled from serving in the war.” Man, in that moment I wanted to have the faith he had, the peace he had. After about 30 minutes of being in the room, Steve decided that we were all going to leave and drive back home, he had peace that everything was good and he was right because when we got home we found out the news had given a false report.

I will never forget being in the safe room and walking in with my pastry (silly to think about now) in my hand as there was no time to go get my Bible or phone when the sirens had gone off. There’s so much that I want to write and tell you all about, but the big picture that the Lord painted for me is: (1. the lack of faith I have in Him, (2. how much I hold my life dear to myself because I have all these plans I want to do in regards to missions, and (3. how I need to let go of those plans because that might not be what God has for me.

I do thank the Lord for allowing me to to go through this because I can have compassion for those who go through circumstances like these and this will be used to prepare me for missions overseas.

A Song I Wrote After Being in the Safe Room

Something that I love doing is writing songs/poems and I was inspired to write a song the day after being in the safe room. Here is a part of it:

But what will it take for me to trust your ways

What will it take for me to fix my eyes on you

What will it take to let go, let go

I’m broken before you

Please take my hand and never let go

God I need you, God I need you

May your Spirit give me the rest I need

May your Spirit lead me to you

May your Spirit calm my mind

God I need you

I’m thankful I got to participate in bringing snacks to the soldiers. Steve’s wife and I had a conversation with one of the men who was telling us how grateful he was for people coming by and dropping off food and other needs. What took me by surprise was that he knew we were Christians. How awesome is that! May we be known for our love for others.

Back in the States

I am now back in the States and it has been difficult being back which doesn’t come by surprise as I knew it wasn’t going to be easy. There were many sleepless nights in Israel where I could hear helicopters, gun shots, and other sounds, and now being away from that it has given my mind clarity to process all that has happened. I am thankful for the Lord protecting me through all of this and for all of you who kept in touch with me.

Able to Teach Others Also – Record Update October 2023

And the things that you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.

Christian Apologetics/Evangelism Class

Christian Apologetics/Evangelism Class at Cambodia Bible Institute Sept. 25-Oct. 6

I had a wonderful time with my Apologetics/Evangelism class students during our two-week intensive class. The students studied hard, listened intently, asked good questions and worked hard to complete a reading log, two tests, a video script, and recorded their own video during the short class. We covered obstacles to faith like “I don’t need God.” “God doesn’t exist.” “The Bible isn’t true.” “Jesus didn’t really live, die, and rise from the dead.” “What about my unsaved ancestors?” and more. Two of my students said that before the class when someone would ask them a challenging question about the truth of Christianity that they would just walk away but now they both finally feel more confident to answer. These students serve in local churches and will be future Christian leaders so please pray that they will remember, apply, and teach others what they have learned in the class.

Answered Prayers Over Visa Stress

During my lunch break from teaching Apologetics, I got a desperate call from my neighbor/Christian friend. He told me that due to a problem with his visa documents, his visa was rejected at the airport and the only way to keep him from getting deported and separated from his family was for me rush to the airport before noon and sign a guarantee letter for him with the government. I did that and he was able to get a one-month visa.

A couple of weeks later, he asked me for some more advice and help. I checked with the company that helps me prepare the documents for my own visa just before a four-day Cambodian holiday so that I could get information to help my friend. The information my visa agent gave me made me very uncertain about whether or not my own family would be able to renew our visas in December or not (and be forced to leave Cambodia). All this stress combined with my exhaustion from teaching the two week class, made me start having difficulty sleeping. So, I put out a prayer request on Facebook on a Friday. By Sunday my stress level dropped and I could sleep normally again. On Tuesday, I got confirmation from the Immigration Dept. via my visa agent that we have the right documents to renew our family’s visas in December. My friend is still in process with his visa situation, but it looks like everything is in order with his paperwork as well. Thanks everyone for praying for us whether or not you know what we are going through at the moment. Your prayers make a huge difference!

Other Ministries

Please continue to pray for Precious Women Organization and Light Association as we continue to help and support these Cambodian founded and led Christian organizations that are reaching out to other Cambodians. We also partner with other local ministries and churches as we can.

Family Update

We are doing well. Kayo has some exhaustion/minor health issues so please keep her in prayer. Benjamin is doing well in school, extracurriculars, and weight lifting. He keeps growing and eating us out of house and home so please pray for our grocery bill :–).

Growing in Grace – Solorzano Update October 2023

Hi friends & family! I pray that this newsletter finds you well- wherever you are in the world and in any condition your heart may be during these times. It has been a whirlwind the past couple of weeks for me. From readjusting back to a busy work schedule, to taking yet another leap of faith and moving 40 miles more inland California to continue in the SGWM Missions Training School. We are officially one week in and we are running right out the gates! No time to waste!

Beautiful sisters in Christ at Calvary South OC.

May His Kingdom Come

As I’ve said from the beginning- I want to be truly transparent and honest with y’all. I have written and re-written this newsletter over and over again through the past three weeks. I confess my heart was hardening towards the evil, lies, and deception of this world. The funny part about all of this is that in my last post, I specifically talked about how blind, lost, captive and dead I was myself. And yet, three weeks go by, and I forget God’s goodness, God’s mercy, God’s unending love, and I myself, am not able to be long-suffering and give others the same grace.

I asked God to give me love for His people, to be more and more like Jesus. And yes, my heart remains broken for the world, for the lost, for the blind, for the unsaved- but it is not filled with hate and resentment because God loves ALL people. He wishes that ALL people come to a full repentance to Him. To know Him individually. To be a part of His kingdom. But the truth is, there is a warning, a line that we do not want to cross. After so many “no’s” given to God, after rejecting His truth so many times, there is also the judgement of God. For God’s “Spirit shall not strive with man forever” (Genesis 6:3).

The grace of our Lord was poured out on me abundantly, along with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus… But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display His immense patience as an example for those who would believe in Him and receive eternal life.

It’s Time to Wake Up

I attended a three-day Muslim Conference, in which my eyes were opened to the deception of the Qur’an, the book of Islam. After the event, I had so many questions running through my mind and so I decided to read through it myself. I also had an opportunity to evangelize at a Mosque in Anaheim and was able to speak to a gentleman named Moe over the truth about Jesus in the Qur’an. It was sad to see that I knew more Surah verses than he did, yet, he was reluctant to carry a conversation with me. Which is similar to many Roman Catholics, who only hear the Word of God preached on a Sunday, but never open and read it for themselves. There was also a lady named Nadia, with her two daughters, asking for money outside the mosque. I had the privilege to pray over her and share the Good News about Jesus Christ with her family. I pray they both come to know Jesus as Lord and Savior!

I found myself asking Jesus the same question the disciples asked Him, why were they born blind? And He answered, “it was not that this man sinned, or his parents, but that the works of God might be displayed in him” (John 9:3). For such a time as this, many will be given sight thanks to the grace, mercy, and unending love of our Heavenly Father. This is happening now so that many that are born blind since birth- those in Hinduism, Judaism, Islam, and others, will receive sight. The conflict happening right now in the Middle East, is not only spreading to the West, but is also causing many to wake up and seek the true and living God.

There is an urgency NOW! John the disciple said it best, “I tell you, open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest” (John 4:35). May we open our eyes, as believers, and see that the harvest is ready to be picked! The time is NOW! There is no more time to waste. Now is the time to pray- for your friends, for your loved ones, for the nations. Pray for miracles. Pray for visions and dreams. Pray for the works of God to be displayed in all people. May we pray always and not lose heart (Luke 18:1). May we not give up. May God find faith on this earth when He returns (Luke 18:8)!!

And do this, understanding the present time: The hour has already come for you to wake up from your slumber, because our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed. The night is nearly over; the day is almost here. So let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light.

Send Out Laborers

A couple of weeks ago, I was blessed to share my testimony of my time at Calvary School of Missions (CSOM) with the Singles Ministry, FocusGen. I had a completely different message to share, talking more about missions in general, but the Spirit led the message and shared the truth about how I struggled with impatience. After reading The Strategy of Satan, about three weeks into the school, I knew that my impatience was simply unbelief. The second I received vision about my calling and my purpose, I was ready to take off running and leave to the ends of the earth immediately! God however, wanted to teach me a lesson of true unwavering faith and continual growth in my trust in Him, and in Him alone. To be more like Jesus every day. To be long-suffering, in the same way He was with me.

Going back again to the previous newsletter- I was reminded of the importance of sharing our testimonies about what God has done and currently is doing in our lives. It isn’t for my own benefit or because I’m boasting in myself, but rather it is to share about the goodness and greatness of God. To share about the many prayers that were answered and how everything is for His glory. I truly take none of the credit, but I’m grateful to be a witness of His work. We prayed to the Lord of the Harvest to send out laborers (Matthew 9:38), and in doing so, many of my friends are stirred up and are growing a heart for reaching the Unreached. What a blessing!

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me,
    because he has anointed me
to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives
and recovering of sight to the blind,
to set at liberty those who are oppressed,
to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.”

LUKE 4:18-19
Two of my friends got baptized last weekend! Heaven is rejoicing!!

Praise Report

  • Many students are continuing on with Missions Training School! Praise God!
  • I officially moved to Yorba Linda and am all settled in.
  • Many of my friend’s hearts are growing for the lost & unsaved, I can see the Lord moving through them!

Prayer Requests

  • Please pray for a smooth transition of jobs- for the doors that need to be opened to be opened.
  • Please join me in prayer for Israel, for Palestine, for the USA, for ALL the nations- for their eyes to be opened and for them to experience the fear of the Lord.
  • Please keep the students in your prayers when we come to mind- may we grow in wisdom and boldness to share the Gospel with those around us.

And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.

HEBREWS 10:24-25

There will be a time and a place when there will be no more tears. No more pain and suffering. No more death. We as Christians, as believers, we have a hope. WE have an eternal promise. And thankfully after three weeks of reflecting and continuing to seek God- He taught me to be filled with grace. I pray you cry out to Him if you are feeling anxious, fearful or isolated during difficult times! He hears you. He sees you. He is a good good Father & He answers the prayers of His children. If there is anything weighing your heart, please reply back, I would love to pray for you.

May His presence fill your inmost being <3

Bear Ye One Another’s Burdens – Pastor 15 Update October 2023

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ! Thank you so much for partnering with us in the work of the Gospel through your prayers and financial support.

We believe that you are aware of the persecution Christians are facing in our country. In one of the northeast states of our country, more than three hundred churches have been destroyed and burnt. More than one hundred people have been killed, and thousands of Christians have fled to neighboring states. Thousands others are living in forests to save their lives. The government in that state and the central government are anti-christian. For the last five months the violence has continued, but the government is doing nothing to stop it. Everywhere in our country Christians are organizing peaceful rallies in protest of the violence toward the Christians. We also had a peaceful rally organised in our town by all of the churches in support of our brothers and sisters in that state. Please pray for our brothers and sisters.

Sometimes we don’t understand why things happen the way they do. But we know that the Lord is in control and that all things work together for good to them that love God. H*, a 26 year old young man who stood with our son at the time of his persecution and arrest by the police, was serving the Lord faithfully when he went to be with the Lord last month due to cancer in his liver. This was heart breaking. He was not able to get better medical treatment due to financial problems. Please pray for his parents and family members.

We are going to finish the third semester of our Bible school this month. The students are doing well in their studies. The church ministry is also blessed by the Lord. God is adding new believes to the church. I will be finishing teaching the book of Genesis.

Last month we had a church picnic. This was the first time that we as a church went somewhere for a picnic. We had blessed time together.

We appreciate your prayers and financial support.

500 Hot Dogs Making Noise – Weakland Update October 2023

Got you! I knew the title of this newsletter would pique your curiosity and cause you to click. The title actually does have relevance to it, and will make more sense at the end.

The Invasion

Eighty-five people among Calvary Trujillo, Calvary Bible Institute Kauai, and the Moyobamba team spent a week together mainly focusing on 3 events here in the Peruvian jungle city, Moyobamba. The events were a free kids festival, free hot dogs to the community, and a free Christian concert. The purpose of the events was to serve the local people, connect with them, and let them know about the church plant. After all, we have a building and it is ready for church service! It’s only missing people.

The Turn-Out

We invited a ton of people to come to our events! From handing out flyers, to the cars waiting at red lights, to passing out invitations to people at the main square, many in the city knew about us and our mission. What I didn’t know is how many people would show up. As the day approached, and I went to the grocery store with my chamo Johann (chamo means bro in Venezuela), I was sure that 500 hot dogs would be more than enough food! Better to have too much left over rather than not enough, right? Well…

Invitations handed out at the main square.

When I arrived at the Coliseum 30 minutes before the events started, there were already about 20 people that came in and were waiting. About an hour later there were about 100 people. And then hundreds. I don’t know how many in total, and quite frankly, it doesn’t matter. But I do know that we ran out of hot dogs, and Mario (one of the leader from Calvary Kauai) went and bought much more. Even though the Coliseum (where we hosted) is a huge place, one side was fairly full of Moyobambinos.

In this picture, our team was teaching the children Christian songs with movements.

Most that came heard the gospel, and were received with love and prayer. It was a sweet night of fellowship and worship. And all of it was used to introduce the Calvary Moyobamba team and me, the pastor, as well as invite them to our first service.

First Sunday Service, the Big Day

After 2 full busy work days of construction and painting at the church with the Calvary Trujillo team, the building was ready for service!

The girls from Calvary Trujillo painted the first floor. They put several coats of paint on and did such a good job! Our first service had beautiful white walls.

The guys from Calvary Trujillo had lots of physical labor cut out for them (on the second floor), from carrying up buckets of sand, to mixing concrete, to installing a water tank. Now the kids for Sunday School have a safety wall by the staircase. And the whole church has water! By the way, we like to have fun too, hence the picture!

Our first church service on Sunday, October 15 was spectacular. The worship was passionately pointed to God, I had such concentration on the sermon, Luke 1:1-4, and we had quality conversations with people afterwards. Also, we were able to give several people bibles that came to service, with the condition that they have to read them every day.

Calvary Trujillo and Calvary Moyobamba pose after the service.

  • Today (Wednesday) I will be teaching Genesis, starting with 1:1. It has been raining, but may that not stop people from coming to receive the Word of God!
  • I am grateful for the support and guidance of my Pastor Cory. He has discipled me, answered a lot of my questions, and loves me.
  • We were sent out by Calvary Trujillo October 1st and have received many verses and messages of encouragement from them. They pray for us and are part of this work in Moyobamba.
  • Thank you so much for your prayers and support! All of this preparation and investing became a reality. And it is only the beginning.

Thank You For Sending Me! – Garcia Family Update October 2023

Hello Friends!

I pray you are all doing well! I wanted to use this update as a time to both ask for prayer, and to extend my gratitude! Next week, I am traveling with my friend Isaac (who is a pastoral intern at our church) to two countries that will remain unnamed, as they are “sensitive countries” (countries that are not open to the gospel). Our goal there is to visit with our SGWM workers in those countries, get a good firsthand look at the works there, and minister to them in love. This is what we call a “missionary care” visit, and something I love to do as the Director of Missionary Care with SGWM!

I am so thankful because it is the partnership and prayer of people like YOU that allows me to be able to go on these trips and minister to our workers! It means so much to them, and is so important over all, for them to be visited by their pastor, especially as I was heavily involved in raising some of these workers up in discipleship. Without your prayers and support, that wouldn’t be possible!

Finally, would you pray with us for a few things?

  1. For safety, health, and most of all, fruitfulness for Isaac and me on this trip. We want to be huge blessings to our workers in these countries during this trip
  2. For our families back at home. Isaac and I both have young children, so please keep our wives in prayer as they manage the household without us for a couple of weeks, and that our families are loved and cared for while we are gone
  3. For the Lord’s financial provision for us. A large portion of my salary consists of support from generous financial partners (some people call them “donors”), just like our international missionaries around the world. The continually rising costs of things like rent and food make it tough for large families like ours! The Lord is always EXTREMELY faithful to provide! So pray for His continued provision for our family. If you would like to be a part of our work as senders with SGWM by becoming a financial partner with us, you can do so following the instructions below

God Is Our Protector – Pastor 3 Update October 2023

Dear Ministry Partners,

Greetings to you all in the matchless name of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ!

This year, our country has received average monsoon rains since the start of the season on June 1. Average monsoon rains are usually good for the farmers but the uneven distribution this year has created new worries.

God is so faithful to us! He provides for our needs and protects us under His mighty wings. We were physically ill this past month. We appreciate your valuable prayers and financial support. We remember you and your family in our daily thoughts and prayers. May the good God bless you with all resources and good health.

We had blessed potluck gathering together with the CBI students and prayed for the situation in a certain state of our country. (For many months, this state has been under massive violence between a largely Hindu people group and a predominantly Christian people group. Because of that, many homes and churches belonging to the Christian people group have been burnt.)

There is a family from a different area that is very passionate about ministry. We used to meet frequently and share with each other about what was happening in our ministries. Recently, he gave me a surprise visit. It was immense joy to meet him after 7 years!

A friend of mine gave me an opportunity to teach some indigenous pastors about the “great Commission of Jesus” and motivate them to reach out to the community with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I am happy that I could contribute some in their lives.

In our church we celebrated “Teacher’s Day”. It is good to remember the teachers’ contributions to individuals. Also, by God’s grace our Sunday school children are growing in the Lord. Every Sunday they recite Bible verses from memory in at church. We continued to participate in all the church activities. We also visited some families to testify about the Lord and prayed for them.

Prayer Requests:

  • Do continue to pray for the state in our country that is in a state of violence against the Christian people group. May God intervene in the situation.
  • Please pray for the family who came to visit me. May God increase their passion for ministry.
  • Please pray for the indigenous pastors who I was able to share with. Pray for their ministry and that God may use them.
  • Kindly pray for the growth of our church.
  • Please pray that we may get suitable land for our church.
  • Kindly pray for me and my family. May the Lord use us for the expansion of His kingdom.

Thank you very much for your prayers and support!

In Him,

Pastor 3* and Family
