Vincent Family April 2024 Missions Update

Greetings from Mexico! In this update I am excited to tell you about our Resurrection services at the end of March! For the last 2000 years, Christians all over the world have gathered together on Easter Sunday to celebrate our risen Lord Jesus! And our church here in Rosarito had a wonderful Resurrection Celebration!

The celebration began with our annual Good Friday drama and concert. This year, we had amazing actors portraying the key characters in the Passion story (Mary, Peter, Barabbas, and a Roman Centurion). After each dialogue, a gifted choir with soloists came out and sang songs that accompanied that part of the Crucifixion. As we walked together through the death and burial of Jesus, every one of the over 600 in attendance were touched!

I don’t need to tell you how the story ends. Jesus didn’t stay in that grave, but He resurrected from the dead on the third day, conquering forever the power of Satan, sin, and death. It was so powerful to join with our church family to sing together of the glorious resurrection of our risen Savior.

Unfortunately, our Easter weekend began with a large storm. We were hit with torrential downpours throughout Saturday and Sunday morning that were threatening our church services. Since many in our community live on dirt roads, my prayer was Lord, please clear up the weather for Sunday morning. And that’s exactly what the Lord miraculously did. Even though the weather report called for heavy rain throughout the entire weekend, the weather cleared up and we even got some sunshine! Thank you Lord!

We celebrated the weekend with a super fun clown show for the kids. In the Sanctuary we got to witness 15 new believers get baptized and many first time professions of faith. Our 2nd service really stood out for me. I shared the message of salvation and gave an altar call as I always do, but for over 3 minutes, no one responded. I felt the Spirit telling me to wait, (even though it was an uncomfortable time of silence) so I did. After this waiting time, one by one, I began to see hands being raised to profess faith in Jesus. At the end of the service, we saw seven first time professions of faith in that service. Praise the Lord!

My sermon was taken from the Resurrection story found in Mark 16, verses 1 through 15. As I taught verse by verse through this passage, I focused on three blessings of the Resurrection. Those three blessings are, #1 – The resurrection reminds us that there is glory and victory on the other side of the difficulties of life. Blessing #2 – Because Jesus resurrected and ascended into heaven, we will too! And blessing #3 – The Resurrection reminds us that JESUS IS ALIVE!

On another note, many of you might remember last year the thief that has been suing our church and trying to steal our south property (Which is now the Calvary Sports Center). Even though we already defeated this evil man, he is back suing me again on appeal. This is a criminal case, where he is suing me personally, and trying to get me thrown into jail.

Our church owns this property, we purchased it from the rightful owners, and we are trusting God through this new trial. But, I need your prayers. Please pray that God will give us the righteous victory here, and that the trial will not be stained by the corruption that can be prevalent here.

Finally, I want to thank you once again for partnering with us in this great missions work in Mexico. We are a team, and it’s an honor and a privilege for me and my family to serve as your missionaries.  We love you and give thanks for you!

Con mucho amor de Mexico (with much love from Mexico),

Mike, Sarah, Grace, and Daniel

Praise Reports!

#1- Praise God for a wonderful missions trip to our 2nd generation church plant in Guadalajara, and the church planting conference we got to host there.

#2- Praise God for Daniel’s new job. He is working at the Chick-Fil-A in Chula Vista, near the border.
