One Week to Departure

Hello there!

As most of you know, we will be leaving for Peru on August 16th.  The Fall 2017 semester has already begun, and so to some extent we will hit the ground running when we arrive.  The timing of everything worked out for us to come in a couple weeks later than everyone else.  It’s less than ideal of course, but it was the necessary timing for our family.

Last month Romeo and I were blessed with the opportunity to go to the Czech Republic while he taught a retreat for the church in Roudnice.  It was a great time of fellowship with the believers there.  We enjoyed it, but more importantly, God was glorified, and it was a time of growth and drawing near to the Lord.  It was exhausting in all the best ways.  And we both put on a ton of weight in the ten days we were there because of the incredible food!

We traveled the States this Summer visiting friends, family and churches, I counted that we have been to 26 States since April.  Approx. 13,000 miles (maybe closer to 14) traveled, not including flights, and so many hours on the road I can’t count them.  Major bonus, our van was full of incredible kids that soak in the blessings of getting to see so many places and almost never complain about long hours in their seats.  Honestly, I am convinced that we couldn’t find a better group of travelers.  Even with a restless toddler in the bunch, she too was generally content!  Praise the Lord for His incredible blessing in perfectly choosing each one of our family members to be a part of this missions bound team.

Despite the grace that God poured over our travels, and the sweet times visiting with everyone… we cannot wait to be settled into our little house in Peru and get back to a routine again.  This year has been a precious blessing in it’s own unique way, but we’re so excited for a season with a bit more regularity, and our own house to get back to a regular school schedule.  But more so than our own desire to be back in Peru.  We’re so thankful that the Lord has called us, provided for us, and continues to encourage us along the bumpy road it has taken us to make it back!

Thank you to those of you who are praying for us, for anyone who has not already begun praying on a specific day of the week or month, would you please make a commitment to spend intentional time in prayer for us?  We would love to have you become a part of our prayer team.  Sadly, that has been a slow developing team for us.  Few people have stepped up even to commit to praying just one day out of the month.  So if you have been praying already, we would love to have you set intentional time.  Write it on your calendar, put reminders in your phone, and just stop to pray!  We feel so strongly that prayer makes a difference in all aspects of our lives, and yours as well.  So we are praying that the Lord would raise up believers to pray.  In order that daily, we would have someone covering us in prayer.

Our communication team as well still has a few gaps in it.  If the Lord has blessed you with the gift of exhortation, and you would enjoy writing letters or sending packages, please consider partnering with us in this way.

Finally, we have not yet met our financial support goals.  For the many of you that have been waiting until closer to our sending date to financially support us, that time is now.  The Lord has been providing additional supporters every week and it has been such an encouragement.  Would you pray about whether or not the Lord might have you partner with us financially?

Praise be to God for ALL that He has blessed us with, and His incredible grace and forgiveness.  We’re so thankful for the opportunity to serve Him both here and in Peru.  Thankful for the blessings and trials that stir and grow our faith and press us in, to a deeper relationship with Him!  May you grow in Him daily, and rejoice in who He is!
