Joni Houser has a burning passion for sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ and for encouraging and equipping others to do the same. God called her to Asia, where she spent 3 fruitful years sharing the Gospel, planting churches, and doing Bible translation. As she lived in a mountain village, God continued to grow a great love in her heart for the people. Often, when the villagers were asked if they had ever heard of Jesus, they would reply, “Jesus? Is He your brother? He doesn’t live in this village. Maybe He lives in that village over there.” The first people who received Jesus as their Lord and Savior did so while Joni was there. Now, as the Holy Spirit continues to open hearts to Him, four different villages have churches in an area where Christianity was unheard of.
Currently, Joni is working to help these same dear fellow Christians, many of whom continue to live in a land whose name literally means “The land of all the evil spirits (gods).” She is raising awareness, prayer support, and badly needed funds for newly trained pastors and Bible Colleges. It is her heart to spread a burden for those who have never heard of Jesus and to recruit others to share the Gospel in unreached areas with SGWM.
