So Jesus said to them, “Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you.”
MATTHEW 17:20 NKJV
This past week has been incredible; the prayers that I have received from you all have greatly affected the work that God has done through me and the group. So first off, thank you for the amazing support that you have shown. These two weeks have been so packed with things that God has used to help people see the grace and peace that is found in Jesus Christ. Once again before getting started, I’m more than thankful for those of you who take the time to read this newsletter, I’m blessed by all of you. Together we can move mountains.
This week God has worked in my life personally by showing me how much I’ve been trying to put my hand to the work which He wants to do Himself. It isn’t us who move the mountains in our lives and the lives of those around us, but God. It’s our faith in Him that gives us the ability to do what He calls us to do. Whenever He has given me conviction in a certain area of life that should be changed, I’ve always tried to change it in my own power. God revealed to me that in my own strength I can do nothing to change the world, but by His amazing grace He can enable me to do that work which He calls us all to do, and move mountains. This next week, I will be applying this to my life, as much as it is possible for me to do so, and then allow God to fill in the cracks that I can’t see.
As God has been showing me the blind spots in my life, He has shown me that even in seasons where He is breaking me down and building me up, He still does work through me. Which leads me to show you what amazing work God has done this week. On Saturday, we had the opportunity to serve at a local church and provide families with essential food items to help them during this season of Covid-19. This not only helped them with their daily necessities, but it also encouraged them during these hard times. God was moving mountains by providing hope in a very dark season for many people. Many families in Mexico don’t have the funds required to have a meal every day or to provide supplies for their children’s needs. So when we had the opportunity to provide the parents with non-perishable food and time to talk to other Christians, it changed the entire environment of the room by the time we were finished. When people were walking in, they appeared tired and in need of refreshment, and when they were leaving they were energetic and happy. Thank God for the opportunity He gave me and the team to provide that for them. We not only provided for the parents, but also for the children. We were moving mountains by faith in God’s provision for those who believe. God gave us the funding for backpacks and toys for the children so that we could also support the families in that aspect. The children also received a form of refreshing in that they got to have their hands painted, and paint pictures with people from our team. This was one of many examples of God’s divine work done in and through our team this week. God moves mountains for those who believe in His Son and His work on the cross.
A few other examples of God moving in and through our group during our time at Calvary School of Missions (CSOM) were when we visited Colonia San Fernando and provided Covid-19 relief and spent time sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ. Also, when we visited Abelardo L. Rodriguez Park in Rosarito on Sunday after church. Our time at the park was blessed because God provided us an opportunity to encourage a man named Martin, a believer, but battling with COVID isolation, we saw God move a mountain of discouragement in his life. If we can’t do anything but encourage another believer, praise God for His love working through us.
In order to be enabled to continue seeking the call of God on my life and to spread the grace of Christ to all nations, I’m asking you to consider coming alongside me through prayer and financial support. The Calvary School of Missions tuition is the biggest thing that I need support with right now. My tuition covers this great opportunity to serve God and includes food, housing, transportation, and study materials.
