Glory To God!
Glory to God for the things that happened this past week. We went to an outreach with the Calvary Homex, ministering to the people of that neighborhood. I talked and prayed with a woman named Cristina, and her neighbor Selena while I painted Cristina’s nails. I felt close with them in the short time that we interacted. Cristina had some questions in her heart about Christ, so my teammate and I spoke with her about Jesus and how He effected our lives. Bonus! I ended up meeting and praying for Cristina’s son as well. I prayed her son would know who Jesus is and live a life surrendered to Christ. It was such a privilege to see the faces of those receiving Christ and choosing to be discipled.
We held another outreach within the same neighborhood near the church Homex. We moved old painted tires around the park, picked up trash and filled the tires with dirt. For hours we shoveled and moved dirt, but afterwards we handed out food, played with the kids, and shared with the women. We interacted with the community sharing the word of God. I gave a short testimony to the women that were there and used the gospel to show the impact God has had on my life.
One of my favorite moments was seeing a man come to the park outreach near Homex to receive Jesus. This man was living in the dump where pastor Eddie, of Homex, regularly ministered, but during our park outreach the man came to us seeking salvation. Pastor Eddie and the men on our team prayed over this man. I have never witnessed anyone make such an effort to seek out Christ on their own. It amazed and encouraged me to witness the fruit of God. Please keep this man in prayer that he would decide to go to church and receive help.
Many amazing things happened this week, we had little time to rest, and there were moments our team was drained. I would appreciate your prayers for endurance, and that I would look first to God in everything I do. I want to glorify God through all of my actions and represent Him in my character. I want more compassion and love towards those we minister to. I wonder at times if I am meant for long-term global missions, but I am recognizing that there has been nothing in this world that provides greater purpose and joy. I would love your prayers in these areas of my life. I know that I am obeying the Lord!
When I think about all that God has done through us, touching their lives, I am so grateful. I see the fruits of love, of joy, and unity within our team. We all struggle at different moments, but its so touching to see people be open about how they feel and that everyone cares for one another. I love my team and that we have the privilege of serving Christ as one body. It is because of everyone behind the scenes in prayer and support that we are able to go out sharing the Gospel.
Thank you everyone for your prayers and partnership in this. I feel so cared for and its a blessing to be serving behind one another. I appreciate all of you, it is a great blessing to be working for the Kingdom of God along side you all. May you all be blessed, love to you!
