WOW first off, thank you for all your prayers! We had a safe arrival in Mazatlán, and I’ve truly felt the covering of God and His people throughout this journey.
This whole program has been such a blessing. I’ll be back Sunday the 10th, and I just wanted to share a bit of what I’ve experienced. I’ve learned so much and walked through spiritual warfare, spiritual growth, and testing in these 6 weeks! Especially during our time in Mazatlán and with the Cora Tribe.
MAZATLÁN – SPIRITUAL TESTING & PRAISE
Let’s start with Mazatlán and the spiritual testing. I almost had a seizure during VBS—there were flashing lights and loud sounds, and it triggered a lot of “auras” for me. It got to the point where I had to leave and sleep.
But here’s the blessing: the whole team prayed for me and supported me through it. That meant so much.
Despite that, I grew spiritually. I found myself praising God even in the middle of that thorn in my flesh. The Lord gave me a loving, Spirit-filled team. Amen!
THE CORA TRIBE
Now for the Cora Tribe—a barely reached people group.
We shared the creation story using pictures, and I met a Cora family that had been radically saved. The husband is now a pastor, and we were able to serve through medical aid, outreach, and the Gospel. There were powerful lightning storms, gorgeous stars, and most importantly: souls were saved in JESUS’ NAME!
We even sent out Pastor Elias and his wife Santana (who are part of the Cora Tribe) as the first church planters within the tribe. How amazing is that!?

SPIRITUAL GROWTH IN THE TRIBE
Seeing their lives gave me a fresh vision. I want to reach more people like that. The Lord gave me peace about reaching the unreached, even if it means hiking for hours to small villages.
The Gospel is worth it. Their souls are worth it.
TESTING: FOOD POISONING
Here’s where it got tough: I ate or drank something in the tribe that gave me the worst food poisoning of my life, right when we got back to Mazatlán. I believe this was more of a test than warfare.
It happened on our travel day—the day we were packing and headed to the airport. I was completely wrecked.
Part of me wanted to complain or even blame God, but then I remembered Job, I remembered Paul, and I even remembered the seizure episode from the week before. So I praised God.
At the airport, when I thought I was starting to feel better, I was praising like David in the Psalms—and then suddenly, the food poisoning got twice as bad! I asked Jesus, “Why?” and He reminded me of James 1:2 — “Count it all joy when you face trials…” So I did.
And I praise God, because my faith increased. When I am weak, He is strong.
OMECCHURCH PLANTING CONFERENCE
We also attended a church planting conference in Rosarito, where pastors were sent out to plant churches and guest speakers taught on missions.
One thing I heard that really hit me:
“It’s free to be a Christian, but it will cost everything to be a disciple.”
That stuck with me. If you want me to break that down for you—reach out!

Right now, we are currently on a retreat to seek the Lord and listen for what’s next. Please pray with me for:
Wisdom
Health
Direction for future missions among the unreached
