I’m Called to Mexico?!?!
Mexico? Now before you jump to writing your reply too fast...allow me to explain. Remember last summer when I left for Mexico for 6 weeks to attend the Calvary School of Missions(CSOM)? I am going back!
“Serena, why are you going back if you already went?”
I am so glad you asked!! Well.. I will not be going as a student this year... I will be going as a leader!! I will be able to see more behind the scenes of hosting a team, getting to know the girls, and simply being available to help in any way possible! Because if you remember.. There are a LOT of outreaches and church takeovers. But.. for those who may not be familiar with CSOM allow me to explain a little..
What is CSOM?

CSOM is a 6 week school in Rosarito Mexico where students come to dive deeper in what cross cultural missions look like and seek the Lord on their role in the great commission. We are in classes daily and doing outreaches multiple times a week! It truly is an awesome time to seek the Lord and grow in a Christ centered community. At about week 4 we will take a plane to Mazatlan where we will then take about an 11 hour bus ride to the Nayarit mountains and love on the tribe there. That time truly is indescribable. I am so excited to see how God uses that time.
Why am I Going?

I knew the second I left last year that I wanted to come back as a leader. I really wanted to play that same crucial part that the leadership last year played in my time at CSOM, just being there to listen when I was overwhelmed, praying over me when I didn’t want to do it myself, and simply encouraging me every step no matter how easy or hard. I am excited to be there for the girls. Also I am looking forward to helping lead worship in Spanish and even seek the Lord for myself for further direction in my call to missions! My overall desire to go to CSOM as a leader is because Jesus was clear in Acts 1:8 where He says:
“And you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
As well as in Matthew 28:18-20..
“And Jesus came and spoke to them saying “All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age". Amen”
We are all called to the great commission in some way, and the Lord has made it clear in my life to GO, and I believe part of that training includes me going to CSOM this year. So as nervous as I am… I know this is an opportunity to be growing in leadership skills, the word, encouraging others, and stepping out in faith. But.. I cannot continue in that call alone. So I ask that you consider joining me in the following ways:

I absolutely NEED your prayers as I am seeking the Lord while doing all that He has placed in front of me. I can’t do any of this out of my own strength, and so I ask that you come alongside me in prayer for the prayer requests below!
PRAISE REPORTS:First I’d love to rejoice in all God has done to make this possible!1- I was able to find coverage for my job!2- God seeing my desire to go, and opening a door no matter how “ last minute” it felt! ( I’m a planner for sure )3- I want to rejoice knowing He is going to provide and do great things this summer! Amen??
