Sharing the Love of Christ in the Amazon Jungle
This I recall to my mind, Therefore I have hope. Through the LORD’s mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness. “The LORD is my portion,” says my soul, “Therefore I hope in Him!”
Lamentations 3:21-24
As we enter into the New Year I want to give thanks to the Lord for the trials and times of testing we have experienced over the course of this past year serving Him in the Amazon Jungle. Many of you know in June of 2025 Ryan was in a motorcycle accident breaking 8 ribs, foot, clavicle, some small fractures on his vertebrae, as well as a severed spleen & bruised lungs. By the grace of God and our wonderful support, 414 missions, IBETA, Calvary Hagerman, Calvary Rosedale and many others, we were blessed to be able to boat from the jungle, to the airport and landed in Sacramento where we are currently staying with family. Ryan’s brother Jason and his wife Sarah generously opened their home so we could stay while Ryan went through the healing process.
After 4 months, most of the injuries healed with the exception of his left shoulder that remains unresolved. He has worked through six weeks of therapy but there has been no improvement in range of motion or pain reduction. We are waiting for an MRI request to be approved and hopefully get some answers soon.
Though we have been stateside for 6 months now, the ministry in Cochiquinas continues. The building for the Bible school has been completed, the ministry through the local church continues and the leaders are encouraged. Pastor Julio Peña continues the ministry as he has seen an exciting movement among the young people. Please keep pastor Julio in prayer. He farms for a living and this past year has been a troubling time for farmers throughout the Amazon basin. There has been abnormal rainfall that has flooded his crop of corn to the point where he will only yield about 30 percent. This not only creates a financial strain for him and others, but will also result in higher corn prices through the region due to a lack of supply.
We are so grateful for all of your prayers and support! Our desire is that you would seek the Lord and draw closer to Him during this New Year.
“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.”(Deut. 6:5)
Love and Blessings,
Ryan & Karen Gause
