Till the Whole World Knows

Hello Friends,

It has been an eventful week. We had 5 days with Pastor Rob Douglass where we went into great detail about cultures outside of our own. We learned more about the billions of people who have not heard about Jesus and are unreached. The numbers and the truth of it are staggering. A crucial thing that Rob did however was to show the numbers in such a way that encourages people to get into the action rather than be discouraged by the seemingly impossible task. The craziest part of this whole thing is that if the church in the western world would take the great commission seriously, we could, without a doubt, reach the whole world in the near future. Needless to say, the classes have been eye opening and thought provoking

Rob’s class

This week consisted of a handful of outreaches and church plant events, and the pace has only continued to increase. God has been working within the busyness and it has been a huge blessing to be a part of it all. I had the opportunity to share my testimony at another park outreach, which brought me back to what the Lord has done in my life thus far and how thankful I am for His mercy and grace towards me. I was also given the chance to share a simple message at a church event we did. I taught on John 3:16, a passage I figured almost everyone would know. I love the simplicity of the gospel, and it was a sweet reminder of that simplicity as I studied through it. I am not someone who is very comfortable on stage or in front of people, but God has continued to grow me in this and to show up in ways I have not expected.

This week will continue on with classes and book readings, and both have been a huge blessing. We just read through the book called The Pursuit of God, and it was thought provoking to say the least. The book hit on a lot of different things, but a common theme was surrender and a mindfulness of God amidst the clamor and chaos of the visible world around us. I have been greatly encouraged, thoroughly challenged, and deeply convicted by the books we have been reading thus far.

We have just hit the half way point in the program, and I am so thankful for all your prayers and for taking an interest in what God is doing here and within the school. God has been teaching me new things, and I am happy to have you all along for the ride.

In Christ,

John Mark
