Mountain Sounds
Hello Friends,
It has been an eventful time since I last wrote. Our team flew to a place called Mazatlan where we stayed at a church for a little over a week. In that time we did a VBS, young adults fellowship, and home fellowship with different members of the church. There was a decent amount of rain and thunderstorms, which ended up flooding the city and knocking the power out for a while. I was personally blessed by the time we spent there having the sweet fellowship and closeness of my fellow team members through the chaos.

VBS
After over a week in Mazatlan, we headed up a mountain to an unreached tribe deeper within Mexico where we spent the next 3 days. The people there are called the Cora, and they were very welcoming of us and the team who has been working with them for some years now. Some of us worked with the kids, which involved games, crafts, teachings, and worship. The kids were all super sweet and fun to play with despite the language barrier for most of us. The adults had a medical brigade set up for them, and teachings as well. We lived simply, but in that simplicity I was reminded of the simplicity of the gospel, and how even people in such a remote place could grasp the truth that is salvation. It was a sweet place to be, and in some ways I was sad to leave it.
After spending one more day back in Mazatlan, we flew back to Rosarito, where we picked up our stuff and headed for the beach house where we will spend the remainder of our time here in Mexico. The purpose of the time here on the beach is to relax a bit, but to also reflect on what God has shown us throughout the trip and to debrief with the leaders.
I wanted to thank all of you who have read my newsletters and what God is doing in us this trip. I am blessed to know there are people praying for me and taking an interested in it all!
In Christ,
John Mark
