New Beginnings

Hello friends!

Our team made it to Rosarito, Mexico as of Sunday afternoon. Besides our car getting hit while on our way, the trip was smooth and uneventful. We are staying at a compound called the Connections House where we will spend the majority of the 6 weeks together. The people who run the place are an amazing couple who have hosted 8 of these programs with Saving Grace World Missions. It is a blessing to be here and to begin the program as a student body. We had an incredible time of worship and prayer our first night. I was reminded that I have my own vision of what I want my life to look like and how I want God to use me, and that I need to let that go. This time away from distractions is so we have the opportunity to hear from the Lord in a fresh way, and to lay down and forsake all in pursuit of what God has, rather than what I would have the Lord do for me. To see this more clearly, we were told to write what we wanted to see God do and what our vision was for our lives on paper. After a time of worship and a short message, we went outside and burned our list. It was a small action with a huge meaning, and it was an incredible way to start this new chapter.

It has been a blessing getting to know all these people who have given this time to the Lord and to reconnect with those who I knew previously. These 6 weeks will consist of continued classes as we go through the Bible and what the great commission means for us as believers, as well as practical ministry and missions opportunities. There will be outreaches with local communities, churches, and a remote tribe deeper within Mexico.

I am thankful for you all for taking an interest in what God is doing in this time and in me! I will continue to write these newsletters as these weeks progress, and I would greatly appreciate your prayers throughout!

In Christ,

John Mark
