From the Heart
The heart is a crucial part of the body and we have learned a lot about the heart in this season. The heart beats 100,000 times a day, pumps 2,000 gallons of blood throughout your body each day and has blood vessels extending from it that when laid end to end would stretch 62,000 miles long. The heart is the most valuable organ because its constant beating supplies every part of our body with blood, oxygen and nutrients that are necessary for us to live.
This is how we feel about you….you are of utmost value as you help beat, pump and sustain us and this ministry through your prayers, support, financial partnership and love. Without you (the heart of this ministry), we would not be able to survive, thrive and take new ground for the kingdom. Thank you with our whole heart!
A HEART THAT IS HEALING
Thank you for all of your prayers for Heather’s heart surgery this spring. She is thankful that it is behind her and she is healing and moving forward. She still has had an occasional episode here and there since the surgery, but she is feeling much better overall and the doctor is hopeful that as her heart continues to heal over the next 3 months that Lord willing this will no longer be an issue. There were many divine opportunities to pray and share with doctors and nurses throughout our hospital stay. We thank God for the quality of life improvements that have already taken place and that she is back to the work of the ministry and serving the Lord around the world again. Please be praying that Heather’s heart would fully heal with no irregular heart beat episodes and that she could get off the meds in the future.
A HEART FOR TEACHING
While Heather’s heart was healing, Bond had the opportunity to teach a three day conference hosted at the CBI S. Asia campus. It was a time to gather all the graduates who have been sent out to start bible studies and plant churches. It is not just the initial two year investment while they are students at bible college that is important, but the continued equipping, encouraging, instructing and refreshing that is vital to their long term ministry on the front lines. We have many who invest and pour into our lives over many decades and it is a joy to do the same for those that are dear to our hearts.
Bond not only taught, but was able to hear updates and testimonies from each of the pastors and ministry workers. Things are extremely difficult in S. Asia right now and one shared about how his church was torn down by the government and they were now scattered meeting in homes. It is hard to imagine, but this is their reality and still they remain steadfast even amongst such heart break. When asked, Pastor J shared their real need is prayer. He also shared that he was built up in his faith after spending several days receiving teaching from the Word and fellowship with other brothers who he is able to lean on.
A HEART FOR STUDENTS
One aspect that we have built into the culture of the bible colleges is outreach. The students are taught the Word of God in the classroom, but once a semester they head out for a week long in-country missions trip. The purpose is to share the Gospel in unreached areas, come alongside new ministry locations to evangelize and to give opportunities for students to use their gifts to point people to Jesus.
In Nepal, the students were able to use skits and dances to draw crowds and proclaim the Gospel in fields and villages. The students prepared for weeks and their hard work paid off as they took advantage of every opportunity from the village valleys to the highest mountain tops.
In S. Asia, a team of 12 was sent out for student outreach earlier this month as their final week of school was a 6 village tour to proclaim the Gospel. They were boldly sharing under trees, house to house and this trip many children came to hear. For these children, it was the very first time they had heard about Jesus. It was a precious opportunity to share the love of Jesus with them and they joyfully received the message and participated in action songs and activities the students had planned. We pray that all of the seeds that were planted through student outreach this past month will take root and bear fruit.
A HEART FOR MISSIONS
It was an honor to be able to attend the Calvary Chapel East Coast Missions Conference and share about the work of the ministry taking place in Asia and Africa. We love to make much of how the Lord is moving and bring glory to Him. We were able to connect with many friends who serve all over the world and to be refreshed and refocused on the mission that God has called us to. It was the best missions conference we have been apart of in recent years and we were thrilled for how God used it in our lives to strengthen our hearts and ready us for the season ahead.
A HEART FOR S. ASIA
We are making plans to return to Nepal and S. Asia this fall. We wanted to extend an invitation, as we are putting together a short-term team for October 2026 to serve in Nepal.
