Hold On..Let Go

Greetings from Rosarito!

My team and I have made it safely to Mexico. Thank you for your prayers!

The first day we got here Pastor Trent had everyone write their vision for missions in a paper and toss it on the fire, to surrender to the Lord. Right away, I knew what I needed to surrender. Before coming to Mexico the Lord had already been putting in my heart that I needed to trust the plans he has for me in missions. As you all know, I plan to go on a vision tour to the Middle East and honestly I have been afraid that the Lord will call me to join the missions team that’s there long term. God has put a deep desire in my heart for tribes and I don’t see that being fulfilled in that location but my journey to get to the tribes is not going to look the way I want it to look like. God has been showing me I have been holding very tightly to my plans and I need to let go and let Him guide me. As I wrote down my desires and threw it in the fire God gave me peace, knowing He is in control and I am not. Ultimately, God gave me this desire to go to the tribes and He will get me there in His perfect timing and through His perfect pathway.

REMINISCING

Last summer, I remember having a hard time being here because it was my first time out of the country. I went through culture shock; the smell, the dogs on the street, the trash, the buildings, the bathrooms (specifically in Sinaloa) everything was different from what I was used to. This time I have a different perspective. God has shown me how much I have grown in areas I used to be uncomfortable and I am thankful.

Dump Outreach

We went to our first outreach and partnered with Calvary Homex to go to the dump and minister to the people who live there. It is very humbling how faithful the pastor of Homex is in his ministry to come to the people there. He loves them so much and they respect him. I had an amazing conversation with a lady who lives there. Her name is Margarita and she is a believer. She was sharing with me how hard it is to live there because of what goes on there and the sinful things people do. Please be praying for her.

Worship at the dump

The Sunday we took off, I was able to see Robby. I met Robby when I first came to Saving Grace. I saw him sitting by himself in the outdoor area of the sanctuary and I remember the Lord telling me to sit with him. He is the sweetest. I had not seen him in a very long time. God gave me such a special surprise before taking off to Mexico, by bringing him to church.
