“But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the King’s delicacies.” Daniel 1:8a
Before the youths went back to school, we had a one day conference with them. The theme: Being undefiled in a defiled generation. It was the most stressful month, hard pressed on every side so I tried to get out of teaching, but the youth pastor expressed how God put it on his heart I should be one of the teachers. I went to prayer. God reminded me of my burden for these youths and He filled me with His words. I am so glad that obeyed with all going on around me. Many of the youths were touched as they were taught about the action of purposing in your heart not to be defiled with the delicacies of this world. Sadly, even pastors and leaders all over the world are still going after the world’s delicacies but we need to purpose not to. We also ended with close to 2 hours of questions and answers. Their questions were crazy deep as if from a Bible scholar! It fills me with much hope for this next generation. God uses the remnant!
Still on the subject of the youth, we as a church have been burdened with a heart for the lost youths in our village and an urgency to go out into the community. This past week the bible college students needed to interview 10 people each as their last project. A small group of them went from hut to hut but then ended with a group of youths under a mango tree. The youths tried to hide their drugs quickly, but our guys said they are not there to judge or lecture, just to talk with them about love. The youths were surprisingly interactive and asked that they would come again. What a blessed open door. Excited to see what God will do in their lives.

Continuing now with the Bible College, when God opened the door to join with CC Golden Springs, we knew it was the answer to our decade long prayer. Recently we found out a new bible college is opening very close to us. We looked into it and are left with many questions. It is being started by a Calvary Chapel but not a Calvary Bible College. We are not saying God will not use it but there are already so many weird and crazy churches in Uganda, we hope they don’t increase. I shared last month about our desire to plant churches with a called and tried pastor, having wisdom in the word and doctrines, a heart for servanthood, plus a small support team. It not only gives the encouragement they need but also the accountability to succeed with great testimony and example for the unsaved watching. Just as we shared not to defile ourselves with the youths, the same is for our current generation, especially for pastors and leaders. What is going on these days is heart breaking. Taking this to prayer with our pastors and Bible College Graduates, we praise God this situation has given us the push we needed to revamp our Calvary Bible College, and many are excited! We will have boarding, day students, and a weekend program for the working class. We will be registering our Bible College with the Ugandan Government so we can give degrees from here as well. We are also making it affordable to both local and those joining from deep in South Sudan. God has helped us through this situation and instead of discouraged, we are excited! God sees all, knows all, and is always faithful!

Prayer Requests and Praise Reports:
- God has opened amazing doors for the land we shared about last month for CC Koboko. The owner of the land and Muslim neighbors have refused a crazy cash offer to sell the land to someone else. They instead dropped the price for us, and we were able to give them a small down payment! The meeting went amazing, and God is moving!
- Please Pray! I have had to write this newsletter quickly as the boys and I will abruptly be traveling. We have been in Uganda for many Ebola outbreaks, but this is the only one we have needed to travel back to America during. Zachary needs to see a specialist for his GI tract and many other important things. We need to be back in Uganda in October has there are youth retreats, conferences, etc. Each day more restrictions are enforced pushing us to travel early so that we can get everything done in time including a possible 3 week quarantine. Vincent will not be going as there is so much to do here. This will not be easy but most things in our lives are not. If things were easy, we would not be on our knees enough. I am still praying Vincent will get everything done and come meet us to get his surgery but it’s in God’s hands. From finishing the Koinonia center, to revamp of Bible College, to renewing our NGO status, etc. It is really a lot. Praise God I was able to set up everything for the women’s ministry and Bible College in time, my only remaining pressing item besides packing was making sure this newsletter got out in time. Please Please pray, Zachary many times has gotten sick during the long travels. If he gets sick or acts out from being too tired while we have our interview with the CDC agent, they will take us to hospital to quarantine while waiting the days for testing. Please pray he will be ok through these long flights with a different airline and airports that we are not used to. As there are only 3 airports to fly into, we will land in the east coast and then be staying with my godparents. Once we have gone through the days to know we are healthy, we will then visit some of the churches there and head to California to start on all the medical, etc. waiting for us.
