Update From Midigo By: Pr. Vincent

We want to thank God for allowing us to be part of the Calvary Chapel movement. Over the years, we’ve seen some Calvary Chapels divert from the foundations of simply teaching the Word. At Calvary Chapel Midigo, through the different seasons of changes and persecutions, God has kept us in the Word. As a result, we have grown spiritually and numerically in the last 4 years. Pray with us as we seek to expand the seating capacity by probably constructing a deck above to accommodate 60 more people. Every week we see new faces, we don’t know where the people are coming from in this 95% Muslim community, but they are coming and leaving quickly before we can know more.
We also praise God for the school being a module school. It has helped push other schools in the district to work harder for their students. This month our school participated in leadership skills and had the privilege of pupils exercising their civic rights from campaigns, vetting, elections and inauguration of new leaders. I had the privilege of speaking to them about godly leadership.
As God led us to open a free boarding Bible College, we started renovating our old classrooms into dormitories, adding a student library, offices and constructing sanitary bathroom and toilets. By faith we painfully had to end our sports ministry for now to focus on the Bible College as we seek to raise up missionaries, faithful leaders, and sound doctrine pastors to advance God’s kingdom in the region, South Sudan, and Congo.
The Rollercoaster of America By: Melissa

Since we reached California, it seems we have started to ride a crazy rollercoaster. Just days after arriving, my dad had surgery and soon after we saw it did not go well. Ambulances, different hospitals, and myself needing to get in righteous anger fighting with the doctors just to get my dad admitted made me realize how much medical has gone downhill and the need for prayer. I do praise God; He brought us early for such time as this. During my dad’s constant up and down battle, Zachary also had his own. We got a different specialist, a new blood lab that didn’t take all the blood needed and so we needed to go again, a medical treatment for GI tract that went backwards and his specialist is currently on vacation, so we just trust God and His minute-by-minute leading.
There are also the highs. I was blessed to teach at CC La Verne about Hannah. I had such a great time studying and teaching about her. God showed me amazing things through her life. The boys got to go to their first and last VBS as we are never here in the summer except for times like these Ebola restrictions and when we were stuck for Covid. Another high has been the amount of love we have received from people sending meals while my dad was down, helping with the boys, giving encouragement, and so much more. I am really so grateful for God’s family! In the hardest times of being away and going through so much we can’t share, God shows you what true friendship is and His body working together. Many busy people going out of their way to come sit with us continues to leave me with the words, God is so good!
Prayer Requests and Praise Reports:
· Continue prayer for our time in the states. Specifically for all the doctors to have wisdom so that we don’t go back with issues, the difficulty of not being in Midigo together, and the blessings of the teachings to come in September and October.
· Pray for the continued renovations to be done in time and for all the new students. We can’t wait to see what God has planned for their lives.
· We are very proud that Mambo is graduating this year with his degree in agriculture and will soon oversee the school farm. As we wait, we continue to work on the fencing and irrigation system to have everything ready for him. May God multiply as we continue to help these children eat healthily and consistently.
· Pray for the closing of the school term. Pray for provision for the parents and for the students to have the strength to stay faithful during this quick break.
· Pray as we seek to get a block building machine to continue construction on the schools.
· Continue to pray for the Ebola situation and other issues going on in Uganda.
· Pray for my dad as he still needs one more procedure to take the stent out.
