Many Ways to Fulfill...
Many Ways to Share the Gospel
“But you be watchful in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, fulfil your ministry.” 2 Timothy 4:5
Fulfill your ministry, evangelize. Many times, especially in Muslim areas, ministry is more than just sharing with words, it is living through life. It can also be as simple as supplying needs. God has directed and opened doors for the need of water. He made a way to dig a well more than 250 feet deep just near our compound. Of course this water will connect to our compound making life more comfortable for our guests and fellow laborers in Christ. But God showed us to use it as a tool for the sharing the gospel further, showing His love and provision in the practical. Once we are fully connected and set up, we will put a tap for the local community and excited to also give water to the Muslim ran boarding High School next door to us. This school has over 2,500 students living there. Few are extremist but most are just lost. Little by little, God has opened doors for us to share the Gospel with them over the last years. Now we pray that supplying their need for the physical water, they will receive the spiritual water that never runs dry, just like the woman at the well! I have enjoyed the community coming together to help. I also have to admit I laughed as everyone ran when the water started spraying out.
Another exciting ministry and need by faith, is to start making bookshelves, desks, etc. for the library. As we measured the huge empty room praying for God to show us His plans, the huge room became smaller and smaller. How much ministry will go on in that room excited me. Half of the library will be for the children with a carpet for story time, small desks, and bookshelves short enough for them. The other half, full of tall bookshelves and desks ready for soft hearts to search out the answers to their questions and the truths of His word. How exciting!
God’s Plans
“We can make our plans, but the LORD determines our steps.” Proverbs 16:9
Last Sunday our generator broke at the beginning of service. I was blessed as no one on the worship team or even in the congregation skipped a beat. The rest of service just went on as if there was power. Well we did have power, power from the Holy Spirit. We could feel it through the whole church as we sang. It was so peaceful and beautiful. The kind of service that gives goosebumps even in the hot weather. After service I told the worship team, I hope God does that more often. Just hearing all the voices of these beautiful saints in one accord. Later I also wondered what would have happen if the power went out during a church service in America. Not sure if the reaction would be the same.
Prayer Requests and Praise Reports:
· This month I have been overwhelmed by the answered prayers. A lot of those answered prayers were answered by God using you. As I was in the book of Philippians I couldn’t stop praising God for you. I praised God as I read Philippians 4:17-19. I am blessed that although you are not here on ground, your fruit abounds to your account and God will continue to supply you according to His riches.
· We praise God that the fellowships continue to grow. To see the body seeking and growing in Christ leaves me speechless.
· We had a successful visitation day at our school. It is the day the parents come and bring food to their children to have a meal together, they meet the teachers and get updates. The boarding students look forward to this day every term, excited to show their families the changes happening in their lives.
· Please pray for Passion Week and our Easter outreach.
· Pray for my Canadian friend coming this month to help train mid-wives from all over the region in hopes more mothers and babies will survive delivery.
· Please pray the government will connect the church compounds and ours to the electricity soon. They are still connecting the small shops in town, so we hope we are next.
· Continue to pray for homeschooling. With the boys growing, the schooling is taking most of the day. I have little energy to do much outside ministry after. I am praying God give me strength but know my family and children are my first ministry.
