The Calvary School of Missions (CSOM) is a six-week summer program in Rosarito, Mexico, designed to help you seek God’s heart for the nations and discover your next step in global missions. At CSOM, you’ll:
Whether you're ready to go or just beginning to explore a call to missions, CSOM provides intentional training, mentorship, and community to help you step forward in faith.
Are you sensing a call to missions but unsure of what your next step should be? Are you curious about what it means to be a missionary and what it would require to live full-time overseas? The Calvary School of Missions (CSOM) is a six-week summer program in Rosarito, Mexico, designed to lay a strong foundation for those who feel called—or are exploring a possible call—to full-time cross-cultural missions.
Through focused study of God’s Word, intentional discipleship, and hands-on ministry, CSOM exists to help you seek the Father’s heart for the nations and discover how your life fits into His global mission. You’ll gain a deeper understanding of the Great Commission to “go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature” (Mark 16:15) and what it means to bring the gospel to the billions who have yet to hear it.
At CSOM, students also study missiology from the Word of God—learning God’s plan for the nations through the lens of Scripture. Pastor Trent Douglass teaches on the purpose of the Church, grounding students in a biblical foundation for why we go, what we proclaim, and how the Church is central to God’s global mission. This training helps students see missions not as a side ministry, but as the outworking of God’s design for His people.
Each week, you’ll also learn directly from veteran missionaries serving around the world, receiving practical training in areas such as cross-cultural church planting, team dynamics, support raising, and how to be sent well from your home church. Alongside the classroom, you’ll gain hands-on experience serving with Calvary Chapel Rosarito and its many church plants throughout Mexico—participating in outreach, evangelism, and community ministry where teaching is put into practice.
A central focus of CSOM is understanding where the global Church currently stands in fulfilling the Great Commission. You’ll be exposed to the reality that more than 3 billion people remain unreached with the gospel, and you’ll be challenged to consider your role in God’s mission to reach them. You’ll also be equipped with essential tools for sustainable ministry, such as writing newsletters, building a care team, and maintaining healthy communication with your sending church.
Whether you’re ready to go or just beginning to explore a call to missions, CSOM provides an intentional space to seek God’s direction, grow in community, and step forward in faith. We invite you to join us this summer as you prepare for the next step in fulfilling God’s global call through the Great Commission.
If you’re feeling called to missions, but don’t know what the next step is in moving towards that goal, this is the perfect program for you. The Calvary School of Missions is a 6 week program located in Rosarito, Mexico designed to lay a foundation for missions for those who feel called, or may be called, to full time missions work. During your time at CSOM, through the study of God’s word, you will discover God’s heart for the world, His purpose for your life on this earth, and how you can fulfill the great Commission and bring the gospel to the 3.2 billion people in the world who are still waiting to hear the gospel. Weekly we will have veteran missionaries from all over the world coming to teach on all things missions through studies in God’s word. In this program you will learn how to plant churches cross-culturally and what that looks like practically as we partner weekly with Calvary Chapel Rosarito and their many church plants throughout Mexico. Weekly we will be coming alongside local Calvary Chapels to do outreaches in their communities where we will get hands on training of what it takes to plant a church, putting what we have learned in the classroom to work. Another important aspect of the school is learning what it means to partner with your home church and be sent well as a long term cross-cultural worker. You will learn the importance of communication, how to write newsletters, and how to develop a care team who will partner with you in this calling on your life. We look forward to seeing you this summer as you seek God’s heart in your next steps to go into all the world!
