Feeling Like a Torpedo...But God is Still Steering
A torpedo is a self-propelled, underwater guided missile launched from submarines, ships, or aircraft to destroy naval vessels. It uses an internal engine (electric or chemical) for propulsion, acoustic sensors (sonar) for guidance, and a large explosive warhead, often detonating underneath a ship to break its back.
Dear Friends,
If we are being honest, we’ve been feeling a bit like a torpedo—moving fast, pushing forward, and trying to stay on course through the waves of life. Some days feel like full speed ahead, with little time to slow down and process everything happening around us.
But in the middle of it all, the Lord has been reminding us of something powerful: even when life feels fast and unpredictable, He is steady. His thoughts are higher than ours. His ways are wiser than ours. And even when we can’t see the full picture, we can trust that He is guiding every step.
“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways,”
says the Lord.
“For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts.” - Isaiah 55:8–
There have been moments where we’ve had to surrender our plans, our timeline, and even our expectations—and simply rest in the truth that God is never surprised by what surprises us. He is always working, always faithful, and always good.
I (Jenn) am so thankful that my hubby is back home. We truly are better together! Although there were challenging moments while Tim was away, we know God’s plans are perfect. We are called to obey, abide, and trust in Him. God continues to show Himself faithful, and He continues to show up in powerful ways.
Although the time away from Jenn was extremely difficult—especially through the hardships of Mom’s failing health and eventually her being called home to be with the Lord—we rest in the fact that God has called us to go to the Philippines and start CSOM Asia. GOD IS OPENING DOORS! We are in awe of what He has been doing throughout Asia.
Through much prayer in the months leading up to the launch of the school, we sensed the Lord leading Jenn not to get a ticket and accompany Tim. As usual, we can clearly see now that the Lord was guiding us and knew exactly what we needed to do.
