Dear Friends,
We wanted to share a personal update with you, beginning with the passing of Jenn’s deeply loved mother, Patricia, who went home to be with the Lord on January 29th. This loss has marked a special and sensitive season for our family as we grieve, remember, and give thanks for a life so incredibly loved.
While Tim continues serving faithfully at the Calvary School of Missions Asia located in the Philippines, we can see God‘s hand clearly moving. The Lord is starting a very special work there to train up people from that side of the world to minister the gospel of Jesus Christ to the most unreached in the world. Tim will be there through the end of February. Even though the sacrifice of us being apart is huge it pales in comparison to the 3.5 billion people in the part of the world known as the 10/40 window who have never heard the name of Jesus, don’t have any Bibles, don’t have access to a church and very few of them have ever even met a Christian. The goal of the Calvary School of Missions is to train up and send out as many people as possible into these very dark regions of the world. Jenn has been home holding down the fort—making arrangements for mom’s burial and celebration of life, along with working through the many responsibilities that come with loss.
We are deeply grateful for God’s strength and peace during these days. At the same time that God has us walking through grief, separation, and financial challenges our son Andy has been navigating a significant mental health journey. He has been in the same behavioral health unit since January 10, which is significant as he historically does not stay anywhere for long if he even agrees to go in the first place. We are thankful for the care he is receiving and for the continued prayers surrounding his healing and stability.
Not only that but the Lord has also brought new life and joy through our son Nathan and his wife Austin who recently welcomed their precious baby boy, Jesse, into this world. Becoming grandparents has been a powerful reminder of God’s faithfulness and the beauty of life continuing, even in seasons of sorrow.
God willing, Jenn will be able to travel March 2nd–7th to meet our grandson for the first time. During that same time, Tim will be traveling to Japan for missionary care with the team in Osaka. Though we will miss being together, we are thankful we will be reunited again on March 10th.
We are incredibly grateful for the prayers, love, and support of our family, friends, and ministry partners during this precious and difficult time. Your faithfulness means more to us than we can express, and we continue to trust the Lord as He carries us through each step.
Meet our grandson Jesse William Carpenter born on Jan. 16, 2026.
One generation shall praise Your works to another, And shall declare your mighty acts. Ps 145:4
From great-grandma to grandchild, we see God’s faithfulness woven through our family.
