October/November Update

Well, it’s been a busy couple of months here in Rosarito. Kristy and I areIMG_0012 settling into new rolls, and new routines. We were blessed to have two teams down over the past month or so, and also helped organize and IMG_0016lead 2 mission trips from our local church here.

The Crossing, a partner church of Calvary Chapel Rosarito (CCR) came for the weekend. They have been great friends, and we have had the privilege of working with them for about 2 years now. They came down and participated in our 10:14 kidsIMG_0039 club at CCR. They threw a birthday party, and shared Bible stories, songs, and some good times with the kids. Our kids club is based on Jesus’ command from Mark 10:14. We continue to welcome the children into the church for an afternoon of food, fellowship, games, IMG_0025 Lowand the sharing the good news of the Gospel with these little ones. As children’s lives are changed for God, they are a testimony to the parents, and we have the opportunity to share with them as well.

A group from Calvary Chapel Costa Mesas Bible College came down for a weekend of ministry. They went out to El Refugio toIMG_1040 Low cook a meal for and to spend time with the people there. El Refugio (The Refuge) is a home for elderly people, or those with disabilities. IMG_1058 LowMost of the residents there were dropped of by families who could no longer care for them. This Christian home receives no government assistance, and little, if any, financial help from the families who have dropped off their loved ones. They rely solely on the donations of people supporting the ministry they are doing there. This was a very eye opening time for me, and also for the team. Preparing for this team to come down was the first time that I had been IMG_1037 Lowto this home. Please keepIMG_1047 them in your prayers as they care for about 130 adults with very little resources.

During the week that CCCM was down doing ministry, there was a fire in East Tijuana that burned down 32 homes. This is an area very close to Gracia del Calvario, a church plant that was started by our home church here in Rosarito a couple of years ago. Several families from the church lost their homes in this fire. We went out to the area with a group from CCR, and spent some time ministering to people 16396_10205266779011618_3987699070030931620_nthere spiritually. This was really an encouragement for me as we saw 3 different ministries all unite to minister to those who have lost everything. We went with some sandwiches, chips, and drinks, and nothing more to really offer people other than prayer. During our time there, Acts 3:6 continued to come to mind where Peter10391046_10205266777651584_4698407107586447556_n said, “Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee…” We did not have easy answers for this community, we don’t have to ability to rebuild 30+ homes for them. We do have Christ, and we can offer that all day long.

I want to close by saying thank you to all of you who have partnered with us financially. The fruit of the ministry here would not be possible without you, and you share in the blessing of helping to expand the numbers of people headed to glory. We have continued to see God bless the ministry here, and guide and direct our steps. We would like to ask you to please keep the ministry here in Mexico in mind as we approach the end of the year. If you are looking to make an end of year tax deductible donation we would ask you to prayerfully consider partnering with us in the ministry here. End of year donations help to carry us through the rest of the year. Thank you again for your partnership.

Watch for our next update where I will tell you about how God lead and directed a missions trip to Mexicali.
