I Couldn’t Put the Fire Out?!
So, they told us to pour our heart out on a piece of paper. Our desires, hopes, worries, joys…and burn it. Like… they literally made a fire for us to put this in.
Ouch.
But wow, was it needed. I thought for a moment “maybe I should take a photo of it so I can remember it and see what I thought I would do” and immediately Pastor Trent said, “And don’t take a photo of it or hold onto it because if God wants it to happen it will happen”.
Talk about a heart check!
Did I really believe my desires and hopes were safe with the Lord?
The actual fire we used!
“Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart”
Psalm 37:4
They shared this verse that same night. The verse is often taken out of context, saying how God will give us whatever we want. But no! We are meant to seek the Lord and delight in Him and He will actually give our hearts the correct desires to have. And that is my prayer while I am here, that my desires would come from Him! And I would walk in those doors as He places them before me.
This whole call to long-term missions! This is a desire on my heart, but it wasn’t from me, the Lord has given me that desire, and He has continued to place me in opportunities to walk in that calling. Praise the Lord for that, I never want to leave that spot. THAT is why “I couldn’t put the fire out”. Sure, maybe I could just not surrender everything, but why? He has given me the desire to give up everything I have and follow Him wherever He may call me to. So, He will give me that desire.

I absolutely NEED your prayers as I am seeking the Lord while doing all that He has placed in front of me. I can’t fan this flame by myself! I can’t do any of this out of my own strength, and so I ask that you come alongside me in prayer for the prayer requests below!

Last newsletter I said, “I know the Lord will provide”.. and HE HAS! (of course). The Lord has provided my FULL tuition for this summer!! I knew He would provide but wow, that was fast, and not how I expected. And I want to thank you all for your generosity that helps me continue in what God has called me to, and I am deeply grateful for your partnership in all ways. Any donations given past this point will go towards future vision tour opportunities, so once again, THANK YOU!
PRAISE REPORTS:First, I’d love to rejoice in all God has done to make this possible!1- God has provided my full tuition! Thank you Jesus.
2- Our group of students are so sweet and getting along great!
3- Our first outreach at a rehab went smooth and the people were ministered to.
PRAYER REQUESTS:1- For continual unity.2- For my voice as I lead worship often. 3- For all of us students and leaders to be FULLY surrendered to what God may speak to us.
4- That I would seek the Lord diligently on what He would have for me!
