Rains, Roads, and Reaching the Tribe

Hello Friends and Family,

These past few weeks have been such a blur of emotions and challenges. However, the Lord continued to work and move through the struggles and difficulties.

July 24, the team woke up at 2am to catch a flight to Mazatlan to serve at Calvary Chapel Maranatha. Mazatlan was gorgeous and so very hot. Thank you Jesus for the AC. During our stay in Mazatlan the team helped with VBS and church clean up.

There were definitely struggles during this time. Unfortunately, I am still struggling with sickness which made it hard to participate in everything. I would greatly appreciate your prayers for continued healing and health. About half of our team is sick.

A few nights into staying at the church, a few of the girls woke up to water flooding into the church. It had been raining really hard the past few nights and because of that, the water had risen extremely high causing it to flood into the church. Not long after that, the power and the AC cut out. It was a long and hot night. The next morning everyone got up and cleaned the church in order to be ready for the church service that night. Praise the Lord, the power turned back on just in time for the church service.

Throughout the week at the church, we helped with service, church cleaning, and ministering to those in need. It was such a blessed time to encourage and minister to the church. Please keep Calvary Maranatha in your prayers. They are a beautiful church with such a heart to serve the Lord.

On Thursday morning, we had our bags packed and took a 9-hour bus ride through the mountains to the Cora Tribe. What a blessing it was to visit this tribe. During our time in the tribe we did children’s ministry, a medical brigade, and evangelism. It was such a sweet time to be with the kids, making balloon animals and braiding hair. The joy on the kids faces was beautiful. I am still processing all that happened. But the Lord worked in such a impactful way in my heart and the hearts of the those in the tribe. At of the end of our stay in the tribe, we passed out the blankets that we had been sleeping on. The families were so blessed.

The Lord continued to show me His grace and love. The people of the Cora tribe have little to nothing, yet they rejoice in the small gifts they received. They were so happy to be in the presence of the Lord. It was a treasure to see the church packed out and God’s children sitting at the feet of the Savior. There are so many emotions and thoughts that I am still processing. I am so thankful for our time in the tribe.

This last week of the trip has been spent at a beach house in Rosarito where we are having a time of personal reflection on what the Lord has done. I want to thank you all again for your prayers and support. This trip has been life changing and eye-opening to me. I am so grateful for your prayers and love. I am so excited to come home and share what the Lord has done in my life!
