Jesus Sent Us. Tacos Welcomed Us.
Calvary School of Missions has officially started! This past weekend has brought so many exciting memories and words from the Lord. All the girls had the opportunity to meet each other and stay the night together on Friday. Saturday all the students were able to come together and meet one another. We had a beautiful night of fellowship and waiting on the Lord. The Lord is truly going to work through this group of students!
Sunday we attended Calvary Chapel Saving Grace and heard a powerful message from Pastor Trent Douglass. After the church laid hands on us and prayed for us and we were off. By the grace of God we were able to cross the border with no issues and arrive safely in Mexico!
We started our first night in Mexico with some delicious tacos with homemade tortillas! We then had orientation and spent time with the Lord. We finished the night with worship and a time of prayer. Through the time of prayer I felt the Lord giving the group a message on how we should be faithful in the present area of service that God has us in.
Monday morning I had the opportunity to lead worship for our team morning devotions. We then went into a time of classes. In our first class, we learned about how Jesus called His people to follow Him. We looked at important verses in the Bible about true discipleship in Jesus. We saw how the church functioned in relation to missions which is the study of missiology.
Our next class was really important as we learned about how to partner with people and churches while serving on the mission field. We studied how Paul communicated to the church and those who supported his work on the mission field. We as missionaries have a very important role to play in connecting the church to those who we are ministering to on the missions field. We are able to bridge the gap between the unreached people and the people a part of the church!
Monday night, we have the opportunity to hear the testimony of Mike and Sarah Vincent, senior pastor of Calvary Chapel Rosarito, and how God called them to the mission field.
Thank you all for your prayers and support while I am in Mexico. I am so excited to see how the Lord is going to work to further his kingdom.
Although I have only been here less than 24 hours, the Lord has already done so much work. I can’t imagine what the next 6 weeks will hold!
