WHAT DID HE SAY??

WHAT DID HE SAY???

Have you ever had someone say something to you and you immediately thought, “That sounds like something God is trying to tell me?"

This January, during our week of prayer and fasting at Calvary Chapel Saving Grace, that is exactly what happened to me.

I had signed up for a private prayer time with a prophetic prayer team visiting from another Calvary Chapel. This wasn’t my first time. I’d received prayer from similar teams in past years, but I’d never met the team praying for me that night. As I walked up, the older gentleman on the team, Larry, looked at me with concern. Hesitantly he said, “Before we get started, God wants me to tell you something… but, he said, I’m nervous to tell you since I’ve never met you and I don’t know how you are going to take it.”

Larry didn’t know me. He didn’t know what I’ve been walking through these past years. And to be honest, I prefer to receive this type of prayer that way. I wanted God to speak clearly, without anyone’s prior knowledge influencing the message.

So I braced myself, expecting a message that was going to be harsh or difficult. But, I also knew that whatever God wanted to say, I wanted to hear. Earlier that day I had prayed specifically that the team would receive clear wisdom from the Holy Spirit and boldly share anything God gave them. I looked at Larry and told him not to worry — to please tell me.
He took a breath and said: “YOU’RE BEING LAUNCHED!”

LAUNCHED! Immediately a picture of the Apollo 11 Rocket blast off flashed in my mind, as it set out on it’s journey to the moon. All I could do was smile!

When Larry saw my smile he looked surprised, and relieved.
I am so glad that he went ahead and shared what God told him, even though he thought it may have upset me.
It was so much fun to let Larry know that God just had used him in a beautiful way to confirm a desire that He had been sparking in my heart.

What I heard was…God is saying YES! He is going to send me out to the field again.
I am confident that prayer is the power God is going to use to activate my “launch” sequence into what He has next.
Since that night, God has repeatedly emphasized the importance of communicating challenges and needs for during step ahead.
So my very first step toward this next adventure is committing to re-establishing my prayer care team.

Looking Over These Past Years

As I think about my time in California serving with the staff at SGWM’s headquarters in Yorba Linda, I can see how God has been preparing my heart. By having the opportunity to get to know and pray for workers around the world, God has opened my eyes to cultures and people I had only heard about. I’ve heard stories of persecution, faithfulness, and courage from friends whose lives shine brightly for Jesus in places where the Gospel is barely known.

These relationships have expanded my understanding and deepened my burden for those who have never heard the salvation story of Jesus.
Doesn’t everyone deserve the chance to understand and choose?

In 2024 I had the opportunity to travel with our SGWM team from the US to meet with many of our national workers from around the globe. Together we attended the Calvary Chapel Asia Conference in Thailand. After the main conference we had our own private SGWM Conference. This time together included several days of focused teaching from our leaders as well as hearing ministry updates from SGWM brothers and sisters from a variety of countries located in the 10/40 (Geographic) Window of the world.

What a privilege it has been to have a front-row seat to what God is doing in so many countries through our workers living throughout the world.
I’ve grown in my appreciation for the diversity of countries and remote areas where God is using His followers to shine His light and reveal His redeeming love.

Touring gardens in Thailand, during our first SGWM International Conference. This is just one of the wonderful opportunities I’ve had to build life long memories and grow relationships.
Launch Plan

First Step— March 2026: Mazatlán
Please join me in prayer as I head to Mazatlán for three weeks this March.
I’ll be there just in time attend this year’s Calvary Maranatha Mission Church Planting/Mission Conference.
I’m excited to see my church family, re-connect with friends serving in various ministries throughout Mazatlán and have a chance to visit Maranatha’s local church plants on Stone Island and Maranatha East.
The final week of my trip I plan to set aside for focused prayer and fasting as I seek confirmation for my the steps of the plan.

Second Step — May 2026: Vision Tour in Spain
In May, I will join Pastor Manuel Canedo, his wife Eunice, along with several Pastors and leaders on a vision tour in southern Spain. We will be scouting the land and praying about establishing a church-sending hub based in the region of Almería.

Third Step — 2026 Returning to Mazatlán
My plan is to move back to Mazatlán to serve alongside Pastor Tony and Angela Carranza and Manuel and Eunice Canedo at Calvary Maranatha.
During this season I will continue my Spanish studies and begin learning Castilian Spanish and cultural foundations in preparation for Spain.

Fourth Step — 2027 Moving to Spain
The long-term plan is to move to Spain as part of the team, helping establish the foundation for the new church-sending hub in Almería.

As I wrote up the new launch plan for this new season, I was reminded of past years, and the hopes of what “My Plan” will look like and the reality of “God’s Plan” often look like.
But, He graciously reminds me, no matter what the plan ends up looking like He is always right there with me directing my way.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.
