Seed Sown in the Desert Grows

It has been several years since we started ministering to people from a Hindu background. It has not been easy to continue the ministry among them smoothly, as they are very disadvantaged people—socially marginalized and deprived of social, religious, physical, and economic needs. They are often looked down upon and mistreated.

Secondly, many of them are more interested in receiving material help than spiritual support. Some groups told us outright that if we could not help them with their livelihood, we should take our spiritual messages elsewhere.

The challenges we faced included building bridges of love and trust and finding local people whom God could use there to make the ministry more effective. We praise God for the wonderful team He has provided and also for the blessing of bringing a family to us that was already trying to share the Gospel message with these tribes.

Marqas (Mark) got the opportunity to attend a Roman Catholic boarding school in another city. During his time there, his religious views began to change. He developed an interest in Christianity, and the Holy Spirit worked in his life. He accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior. God brought us together, and we have seen him and his family serve faithfully there while enduring very difficult circumstances. We praise God for all of this. He is now our online student, a local minister among Hindu tribes, and a key person who takes us to many new places and new tribes with the Word of Salvation through Christ.

It is a very heart-touching experience to go into areas where you have never been before, or among people groups you have never met, invite them to hear the Word of God, and see the whole village show up.

At the same time, it has been heartbreaking to see that there are hundreds of children who do not have the opportunity to study and get on the path to a better life.

The door to share the Word with these tribes is wide open, God has provided us with the tools and good team to minister to these people. We are grateful to the Lord for such a great opportunity to reach and teach as many people as are in this mission field, not born into Christian faith originally. We have easy access to them, we have team members now coming from these groups, God blessed us with Bibles in their languages and there are many other wonderful things that are making this evangelistic move possible. But at the same time these multitudes have needs, such as clean drinking water, medical treatments and medicine, health awareness and educational needs and we are working with them to try to meet some of these needs as the Lord leads and provides.

While we were visiting these areas, we noticed that their goats were grazing on dry sticks left over from the cotton crop. It reminded us that if the true Word of God is not made available to people around us, they will begin to “feed” on anything in order to survive.

These people, along with thousands of others, need our attention, our prayers, and our compassion, all fully covered by the grace of God. They need healthy spiritual food and true love in Jesus Christ. Their families need to grow, and their children need the opportunity for a better life.

We are always thankful to you for your prayers, support, and care. May God bless you and your families.

In Christ Jesus
