Vincent Family April 2026 Missions Update
Greetings from Mexico. I hope that you had a wonderful month of March! As I wrote this family update, Resurrection Sunday is quickly approaching! And that’s a wonderful time to remember the message of that angel on that very first Easter Sunday, “He is not here, He is Risen!” In March our family and church had a busy month full of ministry and God’s blessings, and in this update I want to tell you all about it.

March began with my annual trip to our church plant in Mazatlan for their church planting conference! We sent out Pastor Tony Carranza and his family 10 years ago to plant Maranatha Mazatlan, and over that time they have planted six churches. They have also hosted a church planting conference for the past 5 years that I have been blessed to teach at!

The theme of this year’s conference was “Sound Doctrine” and the topic I was assigned was (surprise) “Planting Churches full of Sound Doctrine!” There were two special highlights that stood out for me on this trip! My first highlight was planting two churches together at that conference. We planted a 2nd generation church plant in North Ensenada, and we planted our 2nd 4th generation church plant up in the mountains of the state of Tepic. It was my long-time dream that our church plants would eventually be planting more churches than we do at the original sending hub up in Calvary Rosarito, and over the past two years that is exactly what has happened!

A second highlight for me was leading worship for the Sunday services at our church plant in Mazatlan! (Pastor David Guzik taught the Sunday sermons and his messages were amazing!) But the special part for me was who was on our worship team with me. I had two of my young friends join me that had attended our church when they were only 4 and 5 years old. Pastor Tony’s 15 year old son Caleb played drums with me, and Pastor Aaron Smith (who we sent out to church plant in Florida 10 years ago) had his 15 year old daughter Eliana sing with me. I literally had a spiritual flashback while playing guitar as I looked over and saw my two young friends worshipping the Lord with me who in my mind were still little kindergartners at Calvary Rosarito.

On the church side of things, we just finished our baptism weekend for March when we had a church record 31 (mostly) new believers get baptized! When we started the church back in 2002, I made two commitments to the Lord and to our church congregation. First off, I promised them that I would present the message of salvation and give an invitation at every service.

Promise #2 is that we committed to have baptisms each and every month in order to give these new believers the opportunity to take the next spiritual step of identifying with Christ through water baptism. It is always so encouraging to hear the testimonies of these new friends getting baptized. And I want to remind you our precious ministry partners that this is spiritual fruit to your account. Thank you!

On the facility purchase side of things, we are still moving forward in faith! We are going to begin our church wide fundraising campaign in April after we get through our Easter Celebration. I want to thank each one of you for praying with us and for us, and for those that have already given a financial gift towards this worthy cause, please receive my deep thanks.

I have had some conversations with some stateside friends, and I would like to make a couple things clear on this project. #1- In Mexico, you don’t have banks that loan churches money. (Even house sales need to be private deals made without any bank involvement.) #2- Most housing and building purchases require at least 50% cash down, with a private contract made to finish payment over a time period of not more than 5 years.

Saying all of that, we are going to be attempting to raise the entire 1.4 million over the next three months. Whenever I am tempted to doubt or question God on this, He reminds me that this isn’t going to be about one person (me) but about a group of faith filled people in our church congregation and other ministry partners that will come together to accomplish this great work.
God has also reminded me that this isn’t just a “buying the building” project, but an opportunity to create a legacy together. This is an opportunity to create not only a permanent church that is reaching its community with the Gospel, but creating a permanent “Sending Hub” that will be reaching the nations through church planting long after you and I have gone home to heaven. Please be praying with us as we approach (by far) the largest opportunity and challenge our ministry has faced over the past 24 years. If you have any questions about this project, please feel free to contact me and I would love to talk and pray together with you.

Finally, I want to thank you once again for your partnership with our family here in the ripe mission fields of Mexico. We feel so honored and blessed that you have chosen to partner with our family and ministry! We love you!
Con mucho amor de Mexico, (with much love from Mexico)
Mike, Sarah, Grace, and Daniel
