GOODBYE AMERICA

Departure Day June 28 2026

Goodbye America

Hi everyone, this is Mia giving my first update while in Mexico.

I have officially arrived in Rosarito!!

While it sounds dauntingly far, I am actually only about an hour away from the U.S. border.

WHAT AM I DOING HERE?

You might be wondering why I am here.

For those of you who didn't receive my first newsletter, I am currently enrolled in a six-week program called CSOM (Calvary School of Missions).

I first heard about this program while attending CBIK (Calvary Bible Institute Kauai).

During one of my classes, I learned about the 10/40 Window, a region of the world where many people have little or no opportunity to hear the gospel openly and freely, as we do in America.

As I learned about the need for laborers in these areas, I felt God stirring my heart to go and share the hope and good news we have in Christ.

Reaching these countries isn't easy, and I realized I didn't know the first steps of serving in cross-cultural missions. That's what led me to CSOM.

Here, I have the opportunity to wait on God, learn about missions, and gain firsthand experience through outreaches.

FIRST NIGHT FIRE PIT

FIRE

My first night at Connections House, we held a time of prayer and worship. We were told to write down our vision for the future, and so we did. Shortly after, we were told to take a good look at that paper and throw it in the fire. It was a sweet time of surrender and worship. God showed me that though I may have ideas of what I want to accomplish through missions, I needed to take it one step at a time, trusting and following God and not rely on what I want it to be.

CLASSROOM DAY 2

DAYS TO COME

As I write this, it is still only day two, and there is so much ahead. I'll be sending another newsletter next week, where I'll share more in-depth updates about what God is doing during my time here and everything I'm learning along the way.

Thank you so much for signing up for my letters. It means so much to me to know that you’re receiving and reading these. If you’d like to support me during my time here, please pray for guidance and discernment for my steps. My total tuition for the summer is $2,700, and I still have $1,133 to go. If you feel led to donate, there is a give button below. Another way you can support my journey is through following my Instagram. I will be creating a page dedicated to missions if you’d like to give that a follow (@MissionsMia). Love you all, catch me in my next newsletter -Mia
