Exciting Life Update
Dear friends and family,
With a full heart and great joy, I bring you an important life update. I have been blessed with the opportunity to attend Calvary School of Missions (CSOM) this summer in Mexico. This school has been something I have been praying about for a little over six months now. To finally say that I am here is such a joy to share. CSOM is a six-week summer program designed to train, equip, and teach about cross-cultural missions. During this time, I have opportunities to learn, grow, serve, and hear from the Lord as I seek clarity about how He may be leading me in the future. This trip is from June 27th to August 9th. Though I feel a pull on my heart for missions today, that has not always been the case. Let me share a little bit about how God has led me here.
As many of you already know, I studied photography at California Baptist University and graduated in April of 2025. The word “grateful” does not come close to describing my time there. I owe a great deal to both my professors and my peers for who I am as a person, an artist, and a follower of Christ today. Not only was I stretched creatively at CBU, but I also gained a new vision for how God might fit my skills and passion for visual storytelling in service for His Kingdom. During my senior year of college, my plans and ideas for the future changed in a way that almost felt out of my control, yet I now see that change is often intentionally orchestrated by God. In this case, I had a heart change.
My original plan for post-grad was to pursue the professional photography industry in Los Angeles and make as much money through photography as I could. That was my heart’s desire. To become successful, make a name for myself, and enjoy the life I have been given. God had other plans. He changed my heart. I believe attending the Calvary School of Missions is the first step to understanding what those plans look like.
By God’s grace, my heart is for people; it always has been. I want to serve them, love them, and simply do life with them–whether that’s at work, in my home, or in an entirely different context. The goal for my future is simple. Love God and love people. Maybe make some photos along the way, too! CSOM is an incredible opportunity to grow in these things. God moves in mighty ways through ordinary people all across the world. I have no doubt that His breath will consume these next six weeks. I have only been here for a little over a day and I am learning, being trained, growing, and being stretched in many ways!
After a smooth drive from Orange County, our amazing team arrived in Rosarito yesterday. Upon arrival, we were quickly met with friendly faces and warm smiles from the Connections House staff. Their hospitality combined with delicious Mexican tacos made for a perfect transition into our new home for the next few weeks. Last night, with full stomachs, we enjoyed a beautiful time of worship and prayer with The Lord. Seeking His face, being patient, listening to His voice, and being led are all aspects of this adventure in Mexico. These past 24 hours or so have already been incredibly life-breathing to my experience as a human, and follower of Christ. I expect nothing less in these next six weeks. I am so excited to keep you all updated on what happens next.
