A New Day Dawning…
September 2025
Where does the time go?! Days turn into months, and now… almost two years I’ve been on the field here in Perú. No matter how quickly time can seem to slip away, I can say with great assurance that I’ve seen my Jesus show Himself faithful over and over again. I’m blessed to be a part of this work that God is doing here at Calvary Trujillo, CBI Perú, and beyond. Each day is an opportunity to grow, to change, to learn, and to serve an amazing and loving Savior and King! As each task, and day goes by I feel Him stripping me of more and more of myself. Revealing more and more just how weak I am, and how greatly I need to depend on Him. He’s done more than I ever could have imagined or hoped—thank you Jesus! We serve a loving God who gives good gifts to His children (Matt. 7:11; James 1:17). In many ways, in my busyness, He’s been bringing me back to the basics. What a theme it’s been to read Matthew 6:33-34 and to hear it more than enough times to know He’s trying to get my attention: “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble,” (NKJV). What an incredible thing that the God of the universe desires you and I. That he gave Himself completely—paying our debt so that you and I could live. I pray that every moment we live would be lived in the fullness of relationship with our loving Savior. I pray that He would take you deeper and deeper in your relationship with Him, that He would strengthen you in ways you didn’t think possible, and that you would continue to run for the glory of His name!
The Missions Conference Here in Perú
Pre-Conference Prep
There was much to do on the construction end to get things ready for the conference! Our team was cracking with the help of CC Philly and Old Bridge. A blessing to make new friends, see old ones , and work alongside my favorite architect too!
Conference Morning — Servants Meeting
Our themes this year, along with our semester theme, was “Rise and Build” coming from Nehemiah 2:18, where the Jews who had returned to Jerusalem after the captivity purposed to rise and build the wall of Jerusalem under Nehemiah’s leadership.
From serving lunches, to making coffee, fixing things, and enjoying the teachings, it was such a blessing to get to be a part of what the Lord did at this year’s conference.
The middle photo is with Renata’s pastor, his wife, and pastor Lloyd from CC Old Bridge. He taught one of my classes on pastoral epistles in Bible college—it was great seeing him again.
The right photo is the majority of the students from Brazil along with a couple of pastors that came to visit. It’s exciting to see so many coming and studying here from so many different countries.
The day after the conference ended we had a special service as a sending Sunday for our latest church plant in Concepción, Chile! Please be praying for Julian and his wife as they are starting from ground zero with a team, and around a month in are seeing great blessing from the Lord and people desiring to come to a healthy Bible-believing, Bible-teaching church!
Mission’s Week: Mission Boda Voisin
During what was our missions week following the conference, Renata and I went to Brazil to turn in our paperwork with the municipality so we could choose our date for the civil wedding (which will allow it to be internationally recognized). Thank you for your prayers! It went really smooth! We were able to get a lot of prep done for the wedding, and in the midst got to spend some time with her family, pastor, and church as well. The date for the civil will be Nov. 29th, and our ceremony will be the following week! God is so good and we’re both getting more and more excited for this new season of life!
Campus Life
Life on campus has continued with all the norms: ministry, discipleship, construction, evangelism, and prep for lots of new change. I’m thankful to be able to draw closer and closer to the Lord! He has done so much and I have no doubt will continue to. I’m excited to see what He has around the corner and I want to enjoy every moment.
What’s Next?
Well, here’s the rundown and idea we have for the coming year. All of it is in the Lord’s hands and we know He will work out every detail. In that, in the coming months we will be in Brazil from late November until around February. We have the civil wedding late November and the ceremony early December (please be praying for my dad as he’s still recovering from his surgery and it will be his first long journey on a plane since before then). We’re so excited to celebrate with family and some friends. If you’d like the link, our plan is to livestream the wedding for those who can’t join us in person (let me know if you’d like it).
As soon as we’re able to, after we get our marriage certificate, we’re going to begin the process on all of Renata’s necessary documents. Once she gets her new passport we’ll look to get her interview to get a visa to visit the US. Please be praying for wisdom on where to go for the visa and to do the interview as our hope is to finish all of this and be back in Perú to help with the upcoming semester before, Lord willing, coming to the States next summer!
In the midst of all the document changes our plan is to have our honeymoon, spend time with family, tie up all of the pending things before heading back onto the field, and spending time serving and spending time with her church family at CC Rio de Janeiro.
Prayer Requests & Needs:
