G. K. Chesterton once said, “The only way to be sure of catching a train is to miss the one before it.”

How true that is!

To be clear, I haven’t missed a train, I haven’t missed the boat, or anything like that. I just want to share with you some of what God has done since my last update (HITS), I also want to ask you to mark your calendars (something that will turn out to be a HIT, but this one will be a HIT for you), and then I want to make a small correction to a slight oversight (a MISS).

Tina and I drove south again, to spend some time at Calvary Chapel Saving Grace, our sending church. As I reported in my last update, I am committed to playing a role in our Missions Training School (MTS), there at Saving Grace. I believe that God has called us this year to take part in discipling and raising up the next generation of missionaries. It’s a privilege just to hang out with these future world changers and pour into them.

While we were there, we went with the MTS class to the headquarters of Living Waters ministry. It was the first time that we have been there and it was the first time that we met Ray Comfort and his team.

It was HIT for us!

While we were down in Southern California, Calvary Chapel Saving Grace hosted their first ever missions conference, “According to the Pattern”. It was an amazing time of fellowship with pastors and others who feel called to long term missions, or are wanting to explore God’s heart for them in regards to missions.

During the Pastor’s dinner I was asked to share on what we are doing with the schools that I oversee in the 10/40 window. It was an opportunity to invite these pastors to join us in teaching and discipling men who feel a call to plant churches, taking the Gospel to those who have never once heard the message of the Cross.

I was also asked to lead a workshop on the importance of, and how to, disciple local nationals, preparing them for the work of the ministry.

This conference was an amazing HIT and a great blessing. The feedback was so encouraging. Now I want to ask you to mark your calendars and plan on joining us for the 2027 According to the Pattern Missions Conference which will be held March 5th & 6th, 2027. I promise you, it will be a HIT for you too.

After we returned from the conference, we had the great blessing of hosting a young couple from Southern California who have been praying about serving full time in the Republic of

Georgia. We spent an afternoon picnicking and swimming at lake Tahoe. The lake is just about 20 minutes or so away from our house. It was a beautiful day. We had a great time togther.

One thing I love about serving our Lord is, ministry doesn’t have to be hard. It’s almost always fun, and at times it’s very relaxing. Another HIT, if you’re keeping track.

I would ask you to pray for God’s guidance and provision for Nathanael and Olivia as they seek God’s heart and His timing for them to venture out, to turn the Republic or Georgia upside down for Jesus Christ.

Now for the MISSES.

In my last newsletter, I asked those who may not be receiving "Gary's Field Updates" to click the button below so they could be added. However, I failed to attach the link to the button. A very definite MISS on my part. My apologies.

Gary’s Field Updates is a secure platform where I can share very important and necessary information that I can’t share in these updates. Through these short text updates, I’m able to keep you up to date on the ever increasing persecution that our workers are facing in the 10/40 window. I’m able to share in detail about the anti-conversion laws that are being passed, resulting in prison time for leading someone to the Lord. I’m able to safely share with you how our churches are in danger and are constantly being harassed by the government officials.

This information, hopefully, will help you see what we’re up against and help you to focus your prayers on behalf of the work and our brothers and sisters who are facing the attack. So please, if your not receiving Gary’s Field Updates, click the button below and I’ll get them out to you.

PRAYER REQUESTS
June 6th, 2026, I’m teaching at a Men’s Breakfast at Calvary Chapel South Kent. Pray that God will bless the teaching and that the hearts of the men would be stirred to action, praying for the unreached of the world, supporting missions and being a bold witness in their own town.

June 24, 2026, Lord willing, I’m schedule to fly to SoCal and join the team that’s leading this years Calvary School of Missions. You may recall that the school brings in long term missionaries, like myself, from all over the world to introduce and teach about missions to people who feel a call of God or want to learn more about being a long term missionary. The six week school consists of classroom teachings on the purpose of the church, culture, church planting, team building etc. There are weekly outreaches where the students take part in the planning of the outreaches. We also have the students do church takeovers. This is where the students fill each position in the church from being a greeter, running the children’s ministry, leading the worship, to the teaching of the Word. It’s a wonderful experience. Near the end of our time in Mexico, we take the students to an unreached tribe in the mountains of Mexico. We made contact with this tribe a few years ago and it’s a great blessing to be among them exposing the students what missions is all about. Please pray for our time in Mexico. Pray that God would anoint the teachings, stir the hearts of the students, and that He would pour out His Spirit and bless the time spent seeking Him and His will.

Please continue to pray for the work in the 10/40 window via Zoom. Pray for my times of teaching, discipleship, arranging teachers for the schools, and the launch of the new online part time night school starting in September.

Please pray for my return to the 10/40 window. Lord willing I will be returning for two full months in the fall. Pray that I can be a source of encouragement to our workers. Pray for our time together where the leaders and I will meet and have a small leadership retreat. That time will be spent seeking the Lord for vision and how He would have us reach the nation. Pray for our travel in country as I visit and teach in the various villages and churches.

Please continue to pray for our health.

Please pray for Tina and the family while I am away.

Please pray for God’s continued provision for us as we seek to serve Him, by serving His people here and abroad.

As always, I am overwhelmed by your friendship, faithful prayers, enduring love and support. I want to thank each of you personally for it. I would also encourage you to never forget, together we are making a difference in the world for our great God and Savior Jesus Christ. God bless,

Gary and Tina
