Adam Fulmizi 2021 CSOM Student Update 5
18 years ago Pastor Mike Vincent was sent out from Calvary Chapel Saving Grace in Yorba Linda, California and this past weekend I got to witness him send out his 30th church plant! The annual Church planting conference at Calvary Rosarito is attended by many guests and pastors/leaders from Mike’s church plants. Multiple speakers from many different areas came and shared wisdom from new testament believers about planting churches.
When Paul and Barnabas went on their first missionary journey in Acts 13:1-4 they were not just sent out by the Holy Spirit, but also by the church:
“So after they (the church) had fasted and prayed, they placed their hands on them and sent them off.”
Acts 13:3
“The two of them, sent on their way by the Holy Spirit, went down to Seleucia and sailed from there to Cyprus.”
Acts 13:4
Even if we are never called to go and plant one ourselves, consider how much it takes to send a team to plant a new church: money, sacrifice, training, and lots of prayer! Those are things that we can be involved with. If we step out in faith to help with these works of the ministry, we will reap the spiritual fruit and satisfaction of fulfilling God’s plan of missions through Church planting. God’s will for the growth of the church is to plant more churches!
Serving at a plant of a plant
I recently served in a Sunday morning for the children at Calvary La Mina, a church plant of Rosarito. Even though I had never met the kids before and they are growing up in a different culture, speaking a different language than me, it was a joy to hear them ask and answer questions about the bible. Towards the beginning of the lesson I asked them if they knew what the bible was and one of the older kids said, “La palabra de Dios” (the word of God). Praise the Lord these kids will get to grow up in this church plant!

I cannot express in these short letters how much the Lord is teaching me and growing me here. I enjoy my time here, but look forward to seeing you again soon and exchanging what the Lord is doing in each of our lives. I truly cannot do this without you.
