Leaving, You.
Hello beloved, I pray this newsletter finds you in the grace and and peace of God.
Forgive me for the late update, our team has been walking and praying through so many things, and I wanted to wait until we had an answer from God to give an update.
Our team was sent to the Philippines to be a part of an introductory missions training for Christians living in Southeast Asia, (Calvary School of Missions Asia). We have discovered that CSOM would be amazing in the Philippines, as this year’s school was an awesome success! But after some time of being here, praying and accessing, we do believe God is redirecting it to be in a different part of the Philippines, at a different time.
Our leadership wants to hold off on continuing it for now, to pray and return, when God confirms. But this would mean after five months of being here, our team’s time would be coming to an early finish; and we would sadly be leaving the Philippines. Which is really heartbreaking, because we love the Philippines! We didn’t want to say goodbye to the lives and relationships we created…but we trust God. We know that He is perfect in all of His ways and in every decision He makes.
When I decided to come to the Philippines, I knew that the mission God was calling me to here as far as I knew would be temporary. That is of course unless the Lord spoke a Word that He wanted me to do long-term missions in this country. But keeping the temporary time in mind I asked myself:
“What did I want to leave with the people that I would encounter?”
People who are living in very hard and chaotic conditions; immense poverty, broken homes, and lives who have always been difficult and outwardly may remain that way for the rest of their earthly lives. As a Christian and a missionary, the answer is obvious…
I wanted to leave the people with Jesus.
I wanted to leave them with a greater love for Him, an awareness of His presence, His power, His worth, and His glory.
Because the reality of it is, is that it’s not just people who are living in third-world countries that need Him, but we are all in desperate need of Him, everyday and all the time. Whether we live in a slum or a mansion, if Christ is not in our hearts, we will never know true contentment, true hope, true joy, or true peace. He is the source of all comfort, pleasure, beauty, knowledge, wisdom, truth, goodness, light and life.
And Eternal life is found in Him and Him alone.
If you have Jesus and have nothing, you have everything. But if you don’t have Jesus and have everything, you have nothing. (Psalm 73:25 and Philippians 3:8)

Over the past 5 months, God gave me so many opportunities to give Jesus.
He was given through His Word as I taught verse-by-verse through the Gospel of John and the entire book of Genesis.

He was given through preaching in slums and small villages bound in idolatry and religion.

Some of my favorite moments were with a group of guys I began regularly discipling in my home. I desired to create a space of real fellowship and worship. We would share a meal, talk about our lives, go through Scripture, pray for each other and we always tried to end it with praise. It was a place that we would all encounter Jesus together and it was awesome!

I’m so thankful to God for these last five months of ministry and life in the Philippines. I’m thankful to all of you who have prayed, partnered, and loved on us as we served God here. Our team is sad to be saying goodbye to this season, but we are also looking forward to what God has next for all of us.

So What is Next?
Our team just headed back West after visiting a few friends and ministries in Asia. Alani and I visited Japan, and Macey visited a country in South Asia.
Now I will be heading to Mexico for the summer to serve as a leader in this year’s Calvary School of Missions Mexico! I am so excited to be walking beside this year’s students as God calls them and sets them on fire for the great Commission!
Also, I am praying about visiting Indonesia in September. This would be a vision tour to see if God desires a long-term work to be started. God has been stirring my heart for the country since last summer and I am excited to potentially go, pray, and see if this is His will for me.
