Following The Call To Church Plant
What an amazing few months it has been. After being sent out by Calvary Chapel Loreto and Calvary Chapel Rosarito, we have experienced many heartfelt goodbyes along with many new hellos. We said goodbye to dear friends we made over the past five years in Loreto and have now begun building new friendships and ministry connections here in San Felipe. David and I are now fully settled in San Felipe, together with the team the Lord has brought alongside us on this incredible journey of planting a new bilingual church, Calvary Chapel San Felipe. We are deeply grateful for the prayers, encouragement, and financial support so many of you have given. This ministry is truly a team effort, and we thank God for each and every one of you walking alongside us in faith.

After packing everything up and saying our goodbyes to Loreto, it took us two long days to make the journey to our new home in San Felipe. We could not have accomplished this move without the incredible help of Ron Struska from Connection House, who drove all the way from Northern Baja to Loreto and then helped transport everything we owned back north to San Felipe. We are beyond grateful for his servant’s heart and willingness to come alongside us during this transition.
Many of our team members not only left behind dear friends and a beloved church family, but also their own families, in order to follow the calling God has placed on their lives. As we begin this new chapter together, we ask for your continued prayers—that we would encourage and strengthen one another, remain united in Christ, and continue glorifying our Lord and Savior in all that we do.

During our search for a church location, we began meeting in Pastor Miguel’s home. Looking back, it was such a blessing to start this way because it helped prepare our hearts for all that God had planned ahead. It was a very humbling experience to go from serving in a healthy, established church to gathering in a small home group with only a handful of people during those first few weeks. Yet through it all, we simply desired to do exactly what God had called us to do—to love people well and to be an example of Christ in every situation.
In just a short time, God faithfully provided a bilingual translator to help us share the Word of God more effectively. We are continuing to pray for another translator who can also translate from Spanish to English for Pastor Miguel as the ministry continues to grow. We trust that, as always, God will provide in His perfect timing.

We have already begun reaching out into the community to share the love of Jesus. Recently, we discovered a small park where a group of believers regularly gathers for fellowship. We have had the opportunity to join them, share the Word of God, and distribute bags of food to those in need. It has also opened the door for us to invite people to Calvary Chapel San Felipe for those who are searching for a Bible-teaching, truth-seeking church modeled after the example we see in the book of Acts.
We were also blessed with the opportunity to serve children at a local Christian orphanage during Dia del Nino, “Day of the Child”. In many parts of Mexico, a day to honor children, celebrate their importance and promote their well-being. Lalo and Hannia dressed as clowns and led a completely Bible-based program filled with balloons, games, worship, and singing that brought so much joy to the children. For the safety and privacy of the children, we are unable to share photos from the event. Please continue praying that God would allow us to come alongside this orphanage and continue ministering to these precious children in the name of Jesus.

Our prayers—and so many of your prayers—were answered when God faithfully provided a church location in the center of town for Calvary Chapel San Felipe, a place we are now blessed to call our new home. Here, we are able to teach the full counsel of God bilingually, going chapter by chapter and verse by verse through the entire Bible while sharing the message of salvation at every service.
Once we received the keys to the building, we immediately got to work doing everything necessary to prepare the church for both Sunday and Wednesday services. It has been incredible to watch God provide the strength, people, and resources needed every step of the way as we continue stepping out in faith for His glory.

After only a few short weeks of opening our doors, we have already been so encouraged and blessed to see new people come into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. David has been faithfully teaching through the Gospel of John every Sunday, chapter by chapter and verse by verse, and it has been amazing to watch God move in the hearts of those attending. Nearly every seat is filled during services, and the children’s ministry table is continually surrounded by God’s precious children.
At the end of each service, we gather together for fellowship, giving us the opportunity to personally connect with the people God is bringing to Calvary Chapel San Felipe. These times of fellowship have become such a blessing, allowing relationships to grow deeper and creating opportunities for meaningful conversations, encouragement, prayer, and discipleship on a personal level.

As we continue stepping out in faith and following God’s calling for our lives, we know there will be obstacles along the way. In fact, we have already faced many challenges, yet through each one we have seen God’s faithfulness and provision. We also know there will be new challenges ahead as we continue the work God has called us to do through Calvary Chapel San Felipe.
Through it all, we hold tightly to the promise found in Jeremiah 29:11:
“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you,” says the LORD, “thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.”
Please continue praying for our team’s protection, unity, wisdom, and provision as we serve our Lord in a place where none of us have ever ministered before, yet a place where we know God has clearly called us to be.
Prayer Petitions
Prayer is one of the most important things we can do, and it is truly the foundation of this ministry. David and I faithfully pray not only for those around us here in San Felipe, but also for each of you—our friends, supporters, and family in Christ. If you ever have specific prayer requests, please let us know. It would be an honor and privilege for us to pray for you.
Thank you to everyone who has been praying for and supporting this new church plant. There is absolutely no way we could do this without your faithful partnership, encouragement, and the strength and guidance of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Our Specific Prayer Requests:
Please pray that our team would remain united in Christ and honor God in all we do here in San Felipe, Mexico.
Pray that as the summer temperatures rise, God would provide two additional air-conditioning units—one for the children’s ministry classroom and one more for the sanctuary.
($650 each unit) If you would like to make a donation towards the A/C units please use the Give to Calvary San Felipe button below.
Pray that we would be able to build at least one of the two classrooms needed for the children’s ministry so the children can continue to grow and flourish in the Lord.
Pray that the name of Jesus would increase, and that we would decrease, always pointing people to Him and not ourselves.
Pray that God would raise up additional translators in both Spanish and English for Calvary Chapel San Felipe.
Pray that God would raise up faithful men and women to become disciples, servants, and future leaders within the church.
We are a new church plant and deeply appreciate your continued prayers and support. Thank you and may God richly bless each and every one of you.
John 3:30
30 He must increase, but I must decrease.
