“…Forcing Me to Deny Jesus: Pre-Christmas Message
“For God is not unjust to forget your work and labor of love which you have shown toward His name, in that you have ministered to the saints, and do minister.” Hebrews 6:10
By God’s grace and with prayers and support of some saints, I was able to preach on December 14th at the international church. My hands were so unsteady (possibly exacerbated by a medication side effect) that I had to request a microphone stand. The congregation was also on edge because of the suffering caused by the military conflict between Thailand and Cambodia, in which Thailand continues to refuse diplomacy…
I preached on Hebrews 6:10, “God Sees and Values Hidden Faithfulness: The Forgotten Characters of Christmas.” I mentioned the faithfulness of Simeon and Anna, who confirmed Jesus as the Messiah and encouraged Joseph and Mary for the trials ahead. I also discussed the Old Testament prophets who never saw the fulfillment of their Messianic prophecies in their lifetimes and were greatly persecuted and other characters. Hebrews 11:37-40 provides a good summary of what happened to them.
One sister came for prayer with tears in her eyes and said, “My boss is forcing me to deny Jesus.” Please pray for her to stand strong in her faith in Jesus Christ like Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, that she will not compromise, and that even if she loses her job (is put in the furnace or the lion's den), that she will be blessed and protected for her faithfulness.
International Church Men’s Retreat
The International Church’s Men’s Ministry Retreat had its 2nd Anniversary on November 29. I am thankful that a new generation of leaders is coming up in this ministry I, along with other brothers started two years ago.
My Apologetics/Evangelism class ended on December 18th, and I am getting ready to grade the students’ papers and videos. Usually, my lectures focus on the basic evidence for God, Creation, the Bible, Jesus, and other questions about God’s goodness. This time, the students also wanted information about cults like Mormons, Jehovah’s Witnesses, and other cults from Korea and China and I was able to help them find information on those as well.
Family Update
Kayo continues ministering to Cambodian women through Precious Women Organization and international women through the international church. Recently she has been ministering to women who have been the victims or ministering to victims of financial scams (marriage or investment) and have lost everything.
Benjamin is doing well in school and is preparing to some internships and extracurricular activities to prepare for college admissions.
Thanks for your prayers, birthday wishes, and emails. It means so much that not only are we not forgotten by God (Hebrews 6:10) but that we are remembered by you all too!
Merry Christmas and a Blessed 2026!
Darryl, Kayo, and Benjamin
