Calvary Chapel Pedregales August update

We have had such a great time over these past few months with many activities in both churches, all focusing on the family!  In August we had our Vacation Bible School with over 100 kids each day. It was for three days, and was a tremendous success; and we did it all by ourselves! The teachers from both churches got together and just decided to plan it and do it! The theme verse was Colossians 3:23 “And whatever you do, do it heartily as unto the Lord and not to men…

The Worship Team

The focus was on using our talents and gifts that the Lord has given us in our churches, schools, and homes. The worship was awesome!! These kids were raising their little hands and praising Jesus; it was a blessing to see them together with the adults worshiping Jesus.  I know that God was smiling down on us.

They had teaching from the Word, learned about silk screening, photography, and dance, and even presented a little dance on the last day. It was such a joy to see all of those kids every day, and the servants working together to bless these little guys. And we did it all on a budget of $300!! (We even fed them each day)!! We really know how to stretch those dollars!!

Vacation Bible School

Our women’s Bible Study has ended for this quarter, but we have decided to continue to meet bi-monthly to pray together as a church family for a filling of the Holy Spirit in our lives and in our churches.  The men served all of us ladies a very nice breakfast, (they even cooked it). We each received a white rose, and a chocolate candy bar.

We also hosted our friends from Crossroads Church in Vancouver WA. for a week in August. They have been coming faithfully for five years now, and have really become part of our family. They shared their time with the men at the discipleship home in Ensenada, and here in Pedregales. They are always such a blessing, and hold a very special place in our hearts. We look forward to many more years with our brothers and sisters from Washington! We shared one of many meals together at the ranch—carnitas!!! A pig was roasted and enjoyed by all!

I was extremely blessed to attend this year’s Harvest Crusade in Anaheim, CA. It’s been so long since I’ve been to one and really enjoyed it.  Seeing all the decisions made for Christ that night—Wow!! It boosted my desire to go out and evangelize even more so!

We are currently busy preparing to celebrate the Independence of Mexico which is Sept. 16th. Our theme will be the freedom that we have in Christ, and we are inviting friends and neighbors that don’t know Jesus.  All the different ministries will come together and sell different foods that are typical Mexican dishes, (yummy)!, and we will have games for the kids. There will also be a costume contest. Of course there will be music—we will all worship the Lord together!  All of the proceeds from this event will go toward our ministries.  You are more than welcome to attend if you are in the area. We will have the celebration on Thurs. Sept. 15th at 7:00 p.m. at Calvary Chapel Tijuana.  Thanks to all for your continued support and prayers for us. We love you!!!
