CALVARY CHAPEL PEDREGLAES November / December Update

Hello All!
I praise God for all of his marvelous works; He is truly amazing and worthy of all our praise.

I have so much to share with you that I don’t even know where to start! It’s been awhile since I’ve written, and so, there is much to share, but I will give you a few of the highlights of these past few months.

men from the ranch opening Christmas gifts
Thanksgiving and Christmas were beautiful, as we had the honor of spending them both with the 30+ men at the men’s discipleship home that we have near Ensenada, “Rancho Poeima.” I see just how much the Lord Jesus loves these men—He truly is full of blessings! We had turkey with all the trimmings, (the Lord provided), played sports, and then worshipped the Lord together. It was an awesome time, and the men were blessed and touched by our presence there.  Each one, in fact, got up and shared why they were thankful, many with tears of joy just thinking where they were last Christmas and where they are today, it was overwhelming for some of them.
They were also blessed with many Christmas gifts, including work boots, brand new jackets, socks, toiletry items, beanies, gloves… as Jesus said, it truly is better to give than to receive! Thanks to CC Beachside, CC Pacific Hills, and CC La Mirada for all
of their love and service to these men.
Teacher's Christmas Dinner

December brought many “posadas”, or Christmas parties. It seems like each ministry had a party, with so much good food!!! I oversee the children’s ministry, and I really wanted to bless the teachers as they are such servants, with many teaching for years without a break. I didn’t have money to buy a nice ham to cook, so I prayed that God would provide, and the next day, I received a blessing of $30, which I knew was for the ham. So we feasted and fellowshipped together, and it was very nice.

3 - 6 year olds open the play with a song

The big event was the annual Children’s Christmas play. This year, we combined drama, with dancing and singing, and it was truly anointed! The kids started working on this at the beginning of October with weekly practices. They never tire and can go on for hours rehearsing. During all these practices, I saw how much the kids enjoy singing. I’ve always wanted to start a children’s choir but have limited music ability, but the Lord showed me that I need to just do it and He will show me what to do and guide me along the way. So, Lord willing, we will start a children’s choir soon.

Our Littlest Angel

We, (the kids and I), were praying that the relatives of these kids would come to the play, and many did, and were touched by the Holy Spirit. The seeds have been planted in their hearts and now God will cultivate them and bring them to salvation one day.

Play, "The Best Gift of All"

Next, we had a very special event on January 9th. We, as a church, adopted an orphanage called “El Faro” Each person from our two churches sponsored a child from the orphanage with buying them a Christmas gift. The children made out wish lists of things they wanted and sent it to us weeks beforehand. It was a great experience for all of us! We ate tamales together with them, played and talked with them, and then gave them their gift. It was a nice change to see the Mexican families from our churches giving to others; ALL were blessed. My child was Denise. She is 9 years old and just a sweetheart. The kids of our church were able to put into practice what they’ve learned in Sunday School regarding sharing and giving. This was such a success, that I’m sure it will become an annual event.

Christmas at the orphanage, "El Faro"

These are just a few of the highlights that closed out 2010. Now we look to 2011 with JOY knowing not what God has in store for us, but asking only that his will be done. Our pastor’s heart for 2011 is to focus on the family. We will be zeroing in on the needs of every aspect of the family: marriage, singles, children and godly discipline…I would like to thank each and every one of you for your prayers and support—you are all appreciated beyond words! I love you all~

Please pray for:
