From Rags to Riches — I Was Jobless, but Now I’m Not!
Greetings, my brothers and sisters in Christ! It’s been about a month since I last wrote to you all, and so much has happened.
Ministry Update
I’ve readjusted to life in ministry at the truck stop, and ministering to the drivers has been so much more fruitful lately, praise God! The classes I’m taking have actually helped me minister better to drivers from different cultures, especially those from South Asia and the Middle East.
Reaching unbelieving drivers from those regions is still a big challenge, since I have limited time to connect and navigate the cultural differences of fear, shame, and honor all while trying to introduce them to Christ. Westernized nonbelievers are usually easier to relate to, but I trust that God will continue to open doors and give me wisdom.
Class and Work
First of all, my classes have been going great! My busy schedule has made homework a bit rough to complete on time, but God has given me the strength to keep pushing through.
One of my classes is Hermeneutics and Homiletics (how to study and teach the Bible). We’ve been diving deep into Greek translations, study materials, observing and interpreting texts, and even learning how to open and close sermons effectively. So far, we’ve spent hours dissecting just the first chapter of James! In a few weeks, we’ll begin teaching through a book verse-by-verse and be critiqued. I'm excited to see how God grows me through that process.
As for work, I recently started a graveyard shift warehouse job at FedEx. Praise the Lord I can now afford gas and food again! However, the job has taken a toll on my body and mind, especially since it’s not the safest environment for my epilepsy. Balancing work, ministry, and school has been challenging, but I hold tight to 2 Corinthians 12:10, “For when I am weak, then I am strong.”
Prayer and Support
Please reply with how I can keep you guys in prayer!
I do have some prayer requests, family in faith:
Health & Wisdom: As I see doctors about my job and health, pray they have wisdom in advising what’s best for me.
Direction: Pray that I follow God’s will completely: where to go, when to go, and whether to stay and minister here full time or go wherever He leads.
Divine Appointments: Pray for opportunities at the truck stop and on the streets to share the Gospel and see souls saved.
Revival in Fontana, CA: Please pray against the opening of a Planned Parenthood there. I grew up near that city and know the impact it could have. Pray for revival and protection over the community.
Thank you all for partnering with me spiritually in this ministry. If anyone feels led to partner financially, all funds will go toward future mission trips and outreach efforts.
God bless you all amazing people!
– A bondservant for Jesus Christ,
Timothy
