Another Exceptional Year

Wow, how time really does fly! It’s hard to believe that another year is coming to an end. Last month marked six and half years for us serving here (full time) in Rosarito. What an amazing time it has been! So full of new experiences, a wedding in the family, meeting people from all over North America and the world, amazing friendships, an incredible church & staff to work alongside, thousands of team members being the hands and feet of Jesus – and the best part is that we have the privilege of organizing their mission trips and working alongside them! We look forward to the Lord continuing to use us to further His kingdom. But we also know that it would not be possible without the prayer and financial support of all of you. From the bottom of our hearts, we sincerely thank you!

We truly believe that the Lord is going to provide the funds to purchase Connections House. As you can see, we have just less than three months and just over $47,000 to go. However, we are continually amazed at the facility He has provided, as well as what our God is capable of. He is absolutely able to provide enough for us to be able to make our first of three lump sum payments on March 1st! We serve a big God! If you would like to make an end-of-the-year (tax deductible) donation, you will find more information below. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions.

Summer Team Highlights

Hilmar Covenant Church – Hilmar, CA

Hilmar Team – Ministering to the youth on the soccer court

We have had the privilege of working with Hilmar Covenant Church for six years. They have served in the same community for about eighteen years now. They had an awesome week of children’s, men’s, and women’s ministry. They also ministered to the youth through soccer, the sharing of testimonies, and more. This year they held a one-night marriage conference as well! Many were blessed and added to the kingdom this week!

Pastor Martin, who was our youth pastor at CCR (Calvary Chapel Rosarito), left four years ago to plant a church in Tijuana. The church is growing so much that they are now in the process of building a new facility. Money was donated and three lots were purchased in the ranch area, about an eight minute drive from their current location. The church has been blessed by several teams that have served out there since this past July. The new church will hold about 250 people, while their current building only has room for around 75 and holds two Sunday services. The new property will include Sunday School classrooms on the second floor, a third floor youth/large gathering room, as well as a small home for Pastor Martin and his family. Some of our teams have sent extra funds to help continue the work on the church. The church members have been faithful, donating their time to work on the new church building. The church has only paid to hire one skilled worker, so the rest of the money could go to purchase materials. At this point we will soon be ready to pour the foundation of the church!

The youth team from Santa Cruz Bible Church had the privilege of starting the construction of the new building. They worked on the first retaining wall, digging and moving dirt, laying block, mixing and pouring cement, and more. It was very hot, but this young team gave it all they had, and did a tremendous amount of work. Part of the team worked at CCR for the week to help run our VBS. They were a tremendous help, as it takes a very large team to run VBS for almost 300 children! The crew was in charge of snacks for all of the kids. They also helped care for some special needs children and filled in wherever needed.

A team from Calvary Chapel Bakersfield, Bakersfield, CA, came in August to put on an event at a local church in Tijuana, Calvary Chapel Cedros. This event closed out their summer-long VBS program and included worship, the gospel message, VBS awards, a hot dog lunch, as well as a water slide and kiddie pools for the little ones.

The Crossing Church, Costa Mesa, CA, came in August to work on the new church building for CCLD as well. They spent two days mixing a ton of cement, laying black, and tying rebar. They worked super hard in the heat!

We are so excited to see what the Lord will be continuing to do next year. Not just with this new church building, but also with the purchasing of our team dorm housing, and through the continued work of the short term missions teams that come down. It’s never too early to plan a trip for yourself, your family, a youth group, or for your church! We look forward to continuing to partner with you in this ministry through your prayers, financial gifts, and serving side-by-side on the mission field. Thank you for all that you do to further the kingdom!
