August/Sept. 2009 Update

Well, summer has come and gone, (or has it)?!  It is hot here, and we are basking in the Son!  I’ve enjoyed a two week vacation this summer, visiting family and friends, and now am home and ready for another school year!  I am moved into my new house, along with Meagan.  James, Monica, and their son, Christopher, share this beautiful home with us on the weekends. I am thankful to my Lord Jesus for giving me this home.

I was honored to be invited to attend a women’s retreat in July with Faith Inspirational Church of Compton. We were in Palm Springs for a most wonderful time! We were in the Word and fellowship, and there was plenty of time to relax by the pool!  I made so many new friends—the family of God never ends!  The worship was phenomenal!   Thanks, Terrie for inviting me.

21 of my sisters and brothers from Calvary Pico Rivera came for four days at the end of July to bless us with a V.B.S. and also worked on three of our classrooms. They were able to put drop ceilings in two of the rooms, and fixed and painted the walls of three rooms. The kids were thrilled when they saw their classrooms made over. There were over 150 kids each day for the V.B.S. We had planned for 80, but the Lord increased, and thankfully, there was enough of everything for everybody.  This is C.C. Pico’s second mission’s trip, and they have made great friendships with these little ones.  Some of the youth have a hard time leaving. I wonder what the Lord has in store for these servants in the future?  They all worked so very hard and were a breath of fresh air for us!  The finale of the trip was the beach baptisms on Saturday.  About 40 men, women, and children from CC Tijuana, Pedregales, and our Men’s Discipleship home in Ensenada made a decision to live for Jesus, and we all got to be witnesses to that—It was Awesome!

School has started and Rosemary is now in the 8th grade and Christina is in 6th grade. They are growing so fast. We are relaxing a little this year with homeschool, and not doing 8 subjects a day! The girls are really happy with this.  They are turning into beautiful young ladies, and I’m very proud of them.

I am keeping busy with my Wed. night class of 7 – 10 year olds. They keep me on my toes, and are growing so much spiritually; it is humbling to be a part of what the Lord is doing in the hearts of these little lambs.  They have become true prayer warriors.  Their prayer requests are different than most kids:  that my brothers will stop doing drugs, that we will have enough money to pay the rent, that my parents will come to church, that my dad will stop drinking…and when they pray, they have faith!  They know who Jesus is and what He’s capable of and it blesses my heart to hear them!

Prayer requests:

Blessings on this year homeschooling the girls, for wisdom, patience, and understanding
For our annual women’s conference this Sat. that God would minister to each woman, and anoint the speakers.

That the kids that we are ministering to would have a hedge of protection around them from the enemy and that they would grow to love the Lord and follow him all the days of their lives.

For my friend and sister in the Lord, Monica Fraga for direction and wisdom in all of her decisions that she has to make. Also, that the Lord provide a job for her.

Provisions for a laptop for me.

Continued good health
