Covid Causes Starvation

This past month, while we had planned to be in S. Asia we actually found ourselves in So. California helping to coordinate relief efforts that reached hundreds there in remote villages.

God’s Sovereign Hand

We see God’s sovereign hand in having us stateside as we have continued to help coordinate food relief around the world. The national pastors and their wives continue to share about the devastation and starvation that has set-in as lockdown in S. Asia goes on 69 days now and is expected to continue. No work = no money and that means NO FOOD for millions. There is also a hopelessness, desperation, and fear of the unknown that has plagued people worldwide and we think to ourselves, Is it possible to make an impact?. The answer is YES! God cares for each individual and that means He cares about each ONE that is suffering.

During these uncertain and trying times, we are reminded that God is still in control, He is sovereign over all and is working even when we cannot see. This quote from Charles Spurgeon helps to keep proper perspective in that “When you go through a trial, the sovereignty of God is the pillow upon which you lay your head.”

Over a dozen food relief outreaches have taken place throughout Asia this past month. While travel is canceled, graduation was postponed and church services throughout Asia and Africa have been shut down, the work of the Lord continues to go forth. God is sovereign and we are grateful to be a small part of an awesome army that is ministering amongst the unreached.

Villagers in need of food gather before the outreach waiting for food and prayer.

In Luke 3:10-11, the people asked, “What shall we do then? John answered and said “He who has two tunics, let him give to him who has none and he who has food, let him do likewise.” Both here and abroad, we continue to ask…Lord what would you have us to do? We can all do something. It could be a simple gesture to bring groceries to someone who has lost a job or sharing the blessings you have been giving with others who are hurting or extending a hand to serve at the food pantry or praying for someone who is struggling.

Thank you to those of you who have made it possible for us to minister and send relief to the most unreached places on planet earth this month. The Gospel is going forth during this worldwide crisis in unprecedented ways. Your financial provision and prayers are making it possible. Please pray for the residents of the Leper Colony as a team will be arriving on-site tomorrow to provide much needed supplies to those who were outcast from society and are now truly cut off during COVID. We anticipate the needs for COVID Food Relief to continue, so please let us know if you would like to help and we can send you more information.

Preaching in Empty Places to Many

Bond had the honor to share the Word in empty sanctuaries and a parking lot to saints from CC Saving Grace who gathered in their cars in Orange County this month. We never imagined how the Lord would orchestrate our lives for His glory and bring us to this place, but then again we are aware that God uses the foolish things of the world….to reach others for Jesus. If you missed it, you can view the message Bond shared from the life of Job during Drive-In church last week: https://vimeo.com/419620225

Sharing the Word at Drive-In Church Service

Thank you for your prayers for Heather’s knee. She was able to see the doctor, get an MRI, start physical therapy, is wearing a specialized knee brace and is moving in the right direction. The doctor is hoping that surgery can be avoided so that is the prayer now for complete healing. Breanna is doing well, growing too fast, mastered tricks on her scooter, picked out her 1st Mother’s Day present, experienced the ice cream man and launched butterflies into the world this month. We thank God for the joy she brings to each of our days!

With Love,

Bond, Heather and Breanna Gaona
