The Middle East is Calling!
I know that many of you have asked if we are still in need of prayer and finances for missions, and I know that many have stepped away from our team for various reasons, and some have stopped giving financially, but truth is, we need support now as much as ever! We call you a team, our team, because we know that we are not alone on this mission; you are a vital part of it! Of course, we need finances to do this, but we really covet your prayers, not just for us but for people the Lord puts in our path. We are so grateful for your faithfulness in continuing to partner with our family in the furtherance of the gospel, and we know we couldn’t do it without you.
As it seems our youngest son, Ezra, is on a good track to finding his place in America (He turned 18 this past week), Nasiema and I are sensing the freedom now to prepare our hearts to potentially move deeper into the Middle East at the beginning of the New Year, 2026. These next few weeks should clarify the next move for us.
All three of our boys are excelling in their endeavors. Ezra continues to work hard in his medical assistant studies, his community college course, his part-time work, his saving and his adjustment to life in America. Middle son Joram is continuing his engineering studies in Ohio and is thriving in the midst of multiple challenges as he balances school, friends and ministry. He is co-teaching the book of Galatians and says he has received good feedback from his peers. Clay has returned from working in Washington State. He graduated from college debt-free, though without much of a financial surplus. Now he’s back in Southern California, looking for both a car and a job. Most importantly, our sons are walking with the Lord, processing hard questions, asking good questions and at the same time making good decisions. Please pray God would knit their hearts with kindred peers for deeper, spiritually-edifying friendships. Our greatest desire is that they would continue to walk with God and continue to align themselves to the callings He has on their lives and that they would use their gifts for the glory of God.
A few weeks ago, God opened an incredible opportunity for Nasiema and me to minister at the Calvary Bible Institute (CBI) in Kauai! By His grace, He sustained me as I taught through the entire book of Acts—about 32 hours of teaching over 8 days, 4 hours each day—while Nasiema ministered through counseling, prayer, and walking with the students as they processed aspects of missions and the Christian faith. We are so grateful for the long and unique relationship we have had with Van and Jamie Skoubis, for inviting us and housing us, and for countless other graciousness towards us during our stay in Kauai. Both staffs at CBI Kauai and Calvary Chapel Lihue were incredibly gracious and kind. The students at CBI Kauai were amazing—their genuine hearts and eagerness to learn gave us great confidence and hope for the next generation that will continue building God’s kingdom.
I was also invited by my dear brother, Pastor Sean Housman, to teach at both Sunday services at Calvary Chapel Central Maui. It was an amazing time— the congregation responded warmly, and the Lord arranged a beautiful divine appointment for Nasiema along with a deep friendship as well.
We are so grateful for God’s faithfulness as we've had the privilege of being part of the body at Calvary Chapel Saving Grace. We've been helping to teach topics with the Young Adults group and mentoring a few individuals, while also coming alongside Isaac Douglass to begin a “School of Discipleship” for young men and women who may not be called to serve overseas but have a desire to grow and better serve within the church here in America. Our heart has been to mentor and shape the whole person behind ministry—to help cultivate the Father’s heart in service.
Prayer Request:
We would deeply appreciate prayer for patience as God is unfolding to us “what’s next” in this season without our sons by our side. As mentioned above, many have stepped away from financially supporting us, perhaps because they have thought our plan was to remain in the States. Yet we continue to trust in our Father’s faithfulness to provide for where He is leading us next. We would be so grateful if you would join us in prayer, believing with us that He will once again prove Himself faithful in this new chapter.
Acts 13:47: “For so the Lord has commanded us, saying, “’I have made you a light for the Gentiles, that you may bring salvation to the ends of the earth.’”
Paul and Barnabas made this known to those around them, that they were called to bring light and salvation to those that never heard the gospel. Nasiema and I are ready and willing to finish the course set before us and proclaim salvation to the ends of the earth.
By His grace, for His glory
