12 Who Changed the World

21Dec

Often times, we are told “bigger is better” or “more is most important” and that is what we measure success by in our society. However, when we look at the life of Jesus we are reminded that he invested in 12 disciples. He taught, instructed and did life with 12 ordinary men that took the Gospel to all parts of the globe and literally changed the world!

We have done large gatherings and big things in the past and there will probably be a place for that in the future again, but in recent days we took a simpler approach. Spending the fall in Nepal, we planned our CC Pastors, Leaders and Wives Conference to be limited to those who have planted a Calvary Chapel, those who have graduated from Calvary Bible Institute (CBI) Nepal and are hosting a bible study and those who are sending students to CBI Nepal. We had 100 men attend the week long gathering where 4 pastors joined us from the states and taught through the book of Genesis focusing on core doctrines that are under attack in our world. As we looked around the conference, we knew each attendee in a personal way, which was such a powerful and intimate time of fellowship together. We were able to provide lodging, meals, commentaries, study bibles and gifts through generous supporters and several special donations, which we praise God for!

CBI Nepal Graduation – Fall 2024

We reflected back on our first pastors conference that we hosted in 2018 with 12 in attendance. Bond said at that time, “there will come a day when we will not be able to fit in this room because the Lord is going to do a mighty work in and through you to reach the country of Nepal.” He encouraged the pastors last month from Zechariah 4:10 encouraging them, “do not despise the day of small things.” It started with the faithful few and times of crying out to the Lord that He built our faith and gave us the resolve to believe God for more!

In addition to the pastor’s conference, we also hosted a Women in Ministry conference where we taught through women of the Bible. We had 12 pastor’s wives from various Calvary Chapels and many women’s ministry leaders who attended. It was a joy to spend the day with them in worship, teaching, prayer and crafts. The women work so hard in Nepal and it was a huge blessing to host a time for them to be refreshed.

Nepal Women in Ministry Conference

It takes an army to host conferences, teachings, outreaches, and provide encouragement and prayer for all of our national pastors, leaders, ministry workers and students. We were thankful to have a sweet team of saints from multiple CC’s to serve during our time in Nepal.

We concluded our time last month in Nepal hosting the CBI Nepal graduation ceremony. We had 12 graduates (8 men and 4 women) that completed 2 years of study and they have remained faithful to the countless hours of study, servanthood, outreach and growth. What a joy to be a part of raising up the next generation of pastors and leaders who were sent out. We know Nepal will be impacted as 12 more disciples spread the Gospel and plant churches in Nepal and Lord willing change the world!

2024 CBI Nepal Graduation

There were many amazing moments from the graduation ceremony, but I was brought to tears on several occasions. One of our former students “D” who graduated in the early days (2nd graduating class) who is partially blind and can’t read as a result was there. “D” is pastoring a church in the remote Everest region and he has now sent a student to us to attend CBI Nepal and that student was graduating. As we prayed to send the students to GO into all the world and fulfill the Great Commission, there was “D” standing with his arms reached out in prayer over our current graduates. The second was looking over and seeing our kids, stretching out their arms towards the graduates during a time of prayer. God is at work!

Lives are being transformed by the power of the Gospel! Men and women are being equipped and sent out to do the work of the ministry. Churches are being planted in the most remote places on planet earth and you are a part of it. We are there in person, but you all standing with us, supporting financially and lifting your prayers……TOGETHER we are a part of discipleship that is changing the world!

Please join us in praying for the 35 locations throughout Nepal, S. Asia, Pakistan and Uganda that will hear the great news about Jesus (majority for the 1st time) during our Christmas outreaches this year! From the highest mountain to the most remote village, we have plans in place to gather in barns, mountain sides, slums, leper colony, prisons, villages, towns and cities to hear the greatest news ever that Jesus came to this world to rescue us and become the Savior of the world!

Thank you for being a part of everything we do to reach the nations!

With Love,

Bond, Heather and Breanna
