Hi everyone! Welcome back to my latest update on Missions! Thank you so much for your prayers and ongoing support. Next week, it will be 5 months since I got to the USA. Praise the Lord! It has been an altogether awesome, challenging and fruitful time of growth for me.

In the Bible, we always see how waiting on the Lord always brings fruit in due season. 2 Timothy 2:6 teaches me that the hardworking farmer should be the first to receive a share of the crops (NIV), but it is evident that the farmer needs to first put in the work. In my time in the US, God has asked me to prepare the field for Him, so when he brings the rain, all preparation may bear much fruit! Meanwhile, I just continue to be faithful to Him, spending time with Him, studying the Word, learning and doing the work of the ministry. I pray for God to move His hand, but I work to prepare the field for Him to do it! Praying and working hard is God’s way to make His name known! Don’t stop reading! I’m about to share some of the great things God is doing lately!

⁹ And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.

Galatians 6:9

A couple of months ago, God brought a young man named Tyler to the church through one of our friends. Having a Catholic background, Tyler arrived at our Young Adults group with a lot of questions about God. At the end of the teaching, I shared the Gospel with him and asked him if he was ready to surrender his life to Christ. He answered back, “I will continue to pray to see if I can have enough confidence to do it one day”. So, I said to him, “the only thing you need to do is believe, Tyler. If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and you believe with all your heart that God raised Him from the dead, then you will be saved. You don’t need anything else. Jesus already did everything for you!”. Moments later, we were leading Tyler in a prayer to confess his sins before God and receive Jesus as his Lord and Savior. What a night!!! Praise the Lord!

About the same time when this happened, my good friend, Isaac (Youth Pastor at CCSG), asked me to teach the word in the Youth Winter Camp at Big Bear. Man! I was so nervous I couldn’t sleep the day before preaching! The next morning, I spent 1 hour teaching on John 10, in my second language. Isn’t God amazing? At the end of the session, I was encouraged by some of the guys who approached to tell me that the word has been edifying to them. It was such a special weekend we got to spend with the Teens. We prayed for and with them, we sled in the snow, we had worship nights, fellowship and many awesome Bible teachers. Such a blessed time!

I want to thank you for your prayers for our trip to Mazatlan last month. On February 22th, I traveled with Pastor Tim and his wife, Jenn, to a Church Planting Conference down in Mexico. This was a fruitful time where I found several Mexican believers desiring to go serve the Lord as cross-cultural missionaries. Now, if you know me, I’m sure I have shared with you how God placed a burden in my heart to encourage fellow believers (specifically Spanish-speakers) to go to the Nations. Meeting all these people was a confirmation from the Lord that, in our congregations, there are men and women called by God and willing to GO to all of the World! Amen!

The first day of the conference, I met Andy. Without notice, this young girl came to me and shared how God called her at age of 7 to be a missionary. Since then, she had been praying to serve the Lord, and she waited to be sent to the Middle East one day. Andy is just 14 years old! Can you help me praying for her? I was so excited and encouraged by this young girl. Please join us in prayer as we lift up the future generations missionaries going the nations to share Jesus!!!

Update for Spanish Speakers: Last month, some fellow believers and I, started a prayer group for the nations via Zoom. The purpose of this group is to support Mexican church planters and missionaries in prayer as they serve God. We pray that this group may grow to be a strong, faithful group that will partner with future Mexican missionaries to minister to Mexico and Beyond! You are all invited to be part of this, just reply to this post, and I will contact you!

I leave you with some of the plans God has placed in my heart in this upcoming months.

• Teaching on “International Church Planting/Missions” at Horizonte Church and CBI Mexico on May 1st.

• I’m almost 50% funded to go on a Vision Tour to the Middle East!
• We are 6 weeks in from the start of our “Mexico and Beyond!” prayer meeting!´
• The trip to Mazatlan was greatly blessed by God!
• Missions Training School is going great! Everyday the Lord grows my desire to serve Him in full capacity as a missionary (At the end of this post, you can see a schedule of the things I normally work on throughout the week).

¡Orando y trabajando duro!

Preparando el campo para la provisión de Dios

¡Hola a todos! ¡Bienvenidos otra vez a mi última actualización sobre Misiones! Muchas gracias por sus oraciones y apoyo continuo. La semana que viene se cumplirán 5 meses desde que llegué a Estados Unidos. ¡Gloria a Dios! Ha sido un tiempo de crecimiento muy padre, desafiante y fructífero para mí.

En la Biblia, es común observar cómo esperar en el Señor siempre trae fruto a su debido tiempo. 2 Timoteo 2:6 nos enseña que el labrador, para participar de los frutos, debe trabajar primero (RVR-1960), pero es evidente que el agricultor necesita primero trabajar duro. Durante mi tiempo en los EE. UU.,Dios me pidió que preparara el campo para Él, para que cuando él traiga la lluvia, toda la preparación pueda resultar en mucho fruto! Mientras tanto, sigo siendo fiel a Él, pasando tiempo con Él, estudiando la Palabra, aprendiendo y haciendo la obra del ministerio. ¡Oro para que Dios mueva Su mano, pero trabajo para preparar el campo para cuando Él decida hacerlo! ¡Orar y trabajar duro es la manera en la que podemos ser usados por Dios! ¡No dejes de leer! ¡Estoy a punto de compartir algunas de las grandes cosas que Dios está haciendo últimamente!

⁹ No nos cansemos, pues, de hacer bien; porque a su tiempo segaremos, si no desmayamos.

Gálatas 6:9

Hace unos meses, Dios trajo a un joven llamado Tyler a la iglesia a través de uno de nuestros amigos. Viniendo de un contexto católico, Tyler llegó a nuestro grupo de Jóvenes con muchas preguntas sobre Dios. Al final de la enseñanza, le compartí el Evangelio y le pregunté si estaba dispuesto a entregar su vida a Cristo. Él respondió: “Continuaré orando para ver si puedo tener suficiente confianza hacerlo algún día”. Entonces le dije: “lo único que tienes que hacer es creer, Tyler. Si confiesas con tu boca que Jesús es el Señor y crees con todo tu corazón que Dios le resucitó de entre los muertos, entonces serás salvo. No necesitas nada más. ¡Jesús ya hizo todo por ti!”. Momentos después, estábamos guiando a Tyler en una oración para confesar sus pecados ante Dios y recibir a Jesús como su Señor y Salvador. ¡Gloria a Dios!

Casi al mismo tiempo que esto sucedió, mi buen amigo Isaac (Pastor de Adolescentes en CCSG), me pidió que enseñara la Palabra en el Campamento de Invierno para Adolescentes en Big Bear, California. Estaba tan nervioso que no pude dormir el día antes de predicar! Esa misma mañana, pasé 1 hora enseñando el capítulo 10 del Evangelio, en mi segundo idioma. ¿No tenemos un Dios grande? Después de eso ya sentía que se me había acabado mi inglés, jaja. Al final de la sesión, algunos de los jóvenes me animaron a decirme que la palabra les había sido de bendición. Fue un fin de semana muy especial que pasamos con los adolescentes. Oramos por ellos y con ellos, nos deslizamos en trineos por la nieve, tuvimos noches de adoración, compañerismo y muchos maestros de la Palabra increíbles. ¡Qué tiempo tan padre!

Quiero agradecerles por sus oraciones por nuestro viaje a Mazatlán el mes pasado. El 22 de febrero, viajé con el pastor Tim y su esposa, Jenn, a una conferencia de plantación de iglesias en México. Este fue un tiempo fructífero donde encontré a varios creyentes mexicanos deseando ir a servir al Señor como misioneros interculturales. Ahora, si me conoces, estoy seguro de haber compartido contigo cómo Dios puso una carga en mi corazón el animar a mis compañeros creyentes (específicamente a los hispanohablantes) a ir al mundo predicando a Cristo. ¡Encontrar a todas estas personas fue una confirmación del Señor de que, en nuestras congregaciones, hay hombres y mujeres llamados por Dios y dispuestos a IR a todo el Mundo! ¡Amén!

El primer día de la conferencia conocí a Andy. Mientras platicaba con algunos jóvenes, esta joven apareció de la nada, y me contó cómo Dios la llamó a la edad de 7 años para ser misionera. Desde entonces, había estado orando para servir al Señor y esperaba que algún día la enviaran al Medio Oriente. ¡Andy tiene sólo 14 años! ¿Puedes ayudarme a orar por ella?. ¡Únete a nosotros en oración mientras levantamos a las futuras generaciones de misioneros que irán a las naciones a compartir a Jesús!

Actualización para hispanohablantes: El mes pasado, algunos amigos creyentes y yo iniciamos un grupo de oración por las naciones a través de Zoom. El propósito de este grupo es apoyar a los plantadores de iglesias y misioneros mexicanos en oración. Oramos para que este grupo crezca y se convierta en un grupo fuerte y fiel que se asocie en oración con futuros misioneros mexicanos para ministrar en México y más allá! ¡Están todos invitados a ser parte de esto, solo respondan a este blog y me comunicaré con ustedes!

Les dejo algunos de los planes que Dios ha puesto en mi corazón para estos próximos meses.

Próximos pasos hacia el Campo Misionero (¡Por favor acompáñame en ORACIÓN!):

• Enseñar en“Plantación de Iglesias/Misiones Internacionales” en la Iglesia Horizonte Ensenada y en el CBI México el 1 de mayo.
• Ir a un Viaje de Visión al Medio Oriente.
• Asistir a la Capacitación de seguridad para los países cerrados al Evangelio.
• Continuar asociándome en oración y financieramente con diferentes iglesias.

Peticiones de oración:

• Por una profunda y fuerte relación con el señor.
• Para que Dios fortalezca a tyler medida que crece en la fe.
• Por salvación para las personas a las cuales compartimos el Evangelio estas últimas semanas: Muhammad (musulmán), Summi y Emma (mormones), Cathy y Amanda (católicas), Dilan (budista) y varios hombres y mujeres jóvenes (ateos).
• Por la reunión de oración por México y Más Allá todos los viernes.
• Por mis próximos pasos hacia el Campo Misionero.
• Para que Dios me bendiga con un Care Team.

My experience from living in another culture

Hello family! Welcome to another update on my missionary adventure… Happy holidays to all of you! It is so good to be back in California after two amazing weeks in Mexico (my home). In my time there, I had the opportunity to teach the Word in a Midweek Bible Study at my home church in Monterrey, my favorite thing to do! Hanging out with family and friends in this season of the year was not only refreshing, but also a time to meditate on what God has been teaching me through my time here in the US. Don’t stop reading! Maybe God wants to teach you something today too!

When I think about a missionary, I think about someone who is trying to fit somewhere he doesn’t belong… Someone that has to adapt to his context really well. That is exactly what a Chameleon does!

Adapting to a new context in missions is an art beacause there is not one “All Inclusive” method that will teach you how to do it! With the guidance and wisdom of the Spirit, with humility and patience, and with many many failures, by the grace of God, a missionary will eventually be accepted by the people he is ministering to. This will then allow him to share Jesus’ love to them. This is exactly how I’m feeling right now in a new culture! And this is exactly what Jesus Christ went through when he voluntarily came to the world (although he didn’t fail as I do): He became a human to minister to them. Jesus has missions in His heart!!!

I have become all things to all men, that I might by all means save some. Now this I do for the gospel’s sake, that I may be partaker of it with you.

The Best Missions Training You Can Get!

God has been working A LOT in my character and faithfulness to ministry. I came down to the USA for cultural and ministerial training, but the fact that I’ve been living in a different country has been the real training for me. God has been really testing my faith in Him. Am I really ready to give up everything I am used to, to go serve Him overseas? He is worth it. My trust is in Him, because I know He wouldn’t have EVER called me to such a thing (as doing missions in the Middle East) if it didn’t solely rely upon His grace and the power of His Spirit in me. God is showing me what type of dependence on Him I need. This time in the US has a divine and very specific purpose in my preparation. Please keep me in your prayers!

¹⁰ But He knows the way that I take;
When He has tested me, I shall come forth as gold.

Job 23:10 (NKJV)

As you may know, my first language is Spanish, so adapting to full English conversations has been a challenge. The greatest challenge these weeks was to preach my first ever English sermon in the Preaching Class! Yes, you guessed correctly, I was more serious than I normally am, twice as slow and with a clumsy, half-broken Mexican accent. I pray one day I can do it in Arabic too!

Updates, updates and more updates on life in America

Missions Training School has been awesome. This is a kind of “internship/school” that Calvary Chapel Saving Grace offers to those who feel called to missions, but need training in different areas of their calling. Lately, we have been learning hermeneutics in our Preaching Class from skillful teachers as Pastor Dan Finfrock and Pastor Trent Douglass; this have given me a huge boost in my preaching. As a plus to our preparation on teaching the Word, we are required to attend Ministry Class and Culture Class, read multiple books, and hear from missionaries from all over the world! I was especially encouraged this week by Zully and by Andrew, missionaries to Spain and Australia.

On December 16, 2023, I was able to serve along Saving Grace and the church team in Pedregales, Mexico, for the yearly shoebox outreach! We had more than 100 kids come and hear about Jesus’ birth, play some games, share a meal and receive gifts. Thank you Jesus! In this event, I helped teach the Word to 6-7 year olds and translate for my American friends! Since I first started serving the Lord, I felt God called me to teach His Word and plant churches, and that is exactly what I’m learning with all these ministry opportunities in Saving Grace. Gracias Jesús!

As for this week, I will start serving in the Security Ministry. This is a huge move of God for me. As I prayed for more preparation on this matter and a fixed place to serve, God moved my leaders to invite me to this ministry at the same time. Being part of this ministry is a firm next step for me as I pray about going for a vision tour to confirm God’s calling to be serving as a missionary in the Middle East (a mostly- closed region to the Gospel).

Update on Language Learning: I just finished my first level of Arabic, praise God! Now I am able to start reading simple words, as I continue to work on pronunciation, writing, hearing and basic greetings. Please help me by praying for perseverance in this matter!

I ask for your constant prayers for me in regards to finances. I am praying faithfully for God to provide for long-term support to serve full-time in the Middle East. The budget for a single missionary living in the country I’m praying for is $1,000-$1,500 dollars per month. I can’t wait to see how He will provide! God has never failed me!!! What a joy to rest in the hands of the God who owns the fortune of this world. ” ‘The silver is Mine, and the gold is Mine,’ says the Lord of hosts” (Haggai 2:8). El Arte de Ser un Camaleón

Mi EXPRIENCIA VIVIENDO EN una nueva CULTURA

¡Hola familia! Bienvenidos a otra actualización de mi aventura misionera… ¡Felices vacaciones a todos! Agradezco a Dios por estar de regreso en California después de dos semanas en Monterrey, México (mi hogar). Mientras estuve allí, tuve la oportunidad de enseñar la Palabra en un estudio bíblico entre semana. ¡Lo que más me gusta hacer! Salir con la familia y amigos en esta época del año no solo fue recargó mis energías, sino también fue un momento para meditar en lo que Dios me ha estado enseñando durante mi tiempo aquí en los Estados Unidos. ¡No dejes de leer! ¡Quizás Dios quiera enseñarte algo hoy también!

Cuando pienso en un misionero, pienso en alguien que está tratando de encajar en un lugar al que no pertenece… Alguien que tiene que adaptarse a su contexto sin importar qué. Bueno. ¡Eso es exactamente lo que hace un camaleón!

Adaptarte a un nuevo contexto en las misiones es un arte, porque no existe un método “Todo Incluido” que te enseñe cómo hacerlo. Con la guía y la sabiduría del Espíritu, con humildad y paciencia, y con muchos fracasos, por la gracia de Dios, un misionero eventualmente será aceptado por las personas a las que ministra. ¡Así es exactamente como me siento ahora en una nueva cultura! Y esto es exactamente lo tuvo que pasar Jesucristo cuando vino voluntariamente al mundo (aunque no falló como yo): se hizo humano para ministrarlos. ¡¡¡Jesús tiene misiones en Su corazón!!!

Me he hecho de todo, para que de todos modos salve a algunos. ²³ Y esto hago por causa del evangelio, para hacerme copartícipe de él.

¡El mejor entrenamiento para misioneros que puedes tener!

Dios ha estado trabajando MUCHO en mi carácter y fidelidad al ministerio. Vine a los EE.UU. para recibir capacitación cultural y ministerial, pero el hecho de estar viviendo en un país diferente ha sido la verdadera preparación para mí. Dios realmente ha estado probando mi fe en Él. ¿Estoy realmente dispuesto a renunciar a todo lo que estoy acostumbrado por Él? Él lo vale. Mi confianza está en Él, porque sé que Él NUNCA me habría llamado a algo así (como hacer misiones en el Medio Oriente) si no dependiera únicamente de Su gracia y el poder de Su Espíritu en mí. Dios me está mostrando qué tipo de dependencia de Él necesito. Este tiempo tiene un propósito divino y muy específico en mi preparación. ¡Por favor, inclúyeme en tus oraciones!

Mas él conoce mi camino; Me probará, y saldré como oro.

Job 23:10

Como sabrás, mi primer idioma es el español, por lo que adaptarme a conversaciones completas en inglés ha sido un desafío. ¡El mayor desafío de estas semanas fue predicar mi primer sermón en inglés en la Clase de Predicación! Sí, adivinaste bien, estaba más serio de lo normal, el doble de lento y con un acento mexicano torpe y medio roto. ¡Oro a Dios para que algún día pueda hacerlo en árabe también!

Actualizaciones sobre la vida en Estados Unidos

La Missions Training School ha sido de gran bendición. Esta es una especie de “pasantía/escuela” que Calvary Chapel Saving Grace ofrece a aquellos que se sienten llamados a las misiones, pero necesitan capacitación en diferentes áreas de su llamado. Últimamente, hemos estado aprendiendo hermenéutica en nuestra Clase de Predicación, de la mano de maestros hábiles como Pastor Dan Finfrock y Pastor Trent Douglass, que le han dado un gran impulso a mi predicación. Como requisito adicional a nuestra preparación para enseñar la Palabra, debemos asistir a la Clase de Ministerio y a la Clase de Cultura, leer varios libros y escuchar a misioneros de todo el mundo. Esta semana me sentí especialmente inspirado por Zuly y por Andrew, misioneros en España y Australia.

El 16 de diciembre de 2023, pude servir junto con Saving Grace y el equipo de la iglesia en Pedregales, México, en el alcance anual de la caja de zapatos. Tuvimos más de 100 niños que escucharon sobre el nacimiento de Jesús, jugaron algunos juegos, compartieron una comida y recibieron regalos. ¡Gracias Jesús! En este evento, ayudé a enseñar la Palabra a niños de 6 a 7 años y a traducir para mis amigos estadounidenses. Desde que comencé a servir al Señor, sentí que Dios me llamó a enseñar Su Palabra y plantar iglesias, y eso es exactamente lo que estoy aprendiendo con todas estas oportunidades ministeriales en Saving Grace. ¡Gracias a Dios!

Esta semana, comenzaré a servir en el Ministerio de Seguridad. Este es una gran oportunidad de Dios para mí. Mientras oraba por más preparación en esta área y un lugar fijo para servir en la iglesia, Dios movió a mis líderes a invitarme a este ministerio al mismo tiempo. Ser parte de este ministerio es un paso firme para mí, ya que estoy orando por hacer un Viaje de Visión para confirmar el llamado de Dios a servir como misionero en el Medio Oriente (una región mayoritariamente cerrada al Evangelio).

Actualización sobre el aprendizaje de idiomas: Acabo de terminar mi primer nivel de árabe. ¡Gloria a Dios! Ahora puedo empezar a leer palabras sencillas, mientras sigo trabajando en la pronunciación, la escritura, en escuchar el idioma y las salutaciones. ¡Por favor ayúdenme a orar por perseverancia en este asunto!

Les pido sus constantes oraciones por mí en lo que respecta a las finanzas. Estoy orando fielmente para que Dios provea a largo plazo para servir de tiempo completo en el Medio Oriente. El presupuesto para un misionero soltero que vive en el país por el que estoy orando, es de 1.000 a 1.500 dólares ($17,000 – 25,000 pesos). ¡Estoy emocionado de ver cómo Dios proveerá! ¡Dios nunca me ha fallado!!! Qué alegría descansar en las manos del Dios que es dueño del dinero de este mundo. ““Mía es la plata, y mío es el oro”, dice Jehová de los ejércitos.”, Hageo 2:8. Hello everyone, welcome again to my update on Missions’! Thanks for your prayers and support, family. Thank God I arrived on October 24th to Yorba Linda, California, my new home for the next year! For those of you who are new to this blog, this past summer I spent 6 weeks in Calvary School of Missions (CSOM) with the Calvary Chapel Saving Grace team seeking God’s direction in my life. After returning to my home town in Mexico for 2 months, God confirmed His calling in my life to be a full-time missionary overseas. Thank you Jesus for your goodness, thank you for your direction.

By the way, admissions for CSOM 2024 are open! This school was such a blessing to my life and a tool God used to guide me to my calling. This next year, I will be praying for the country God placed in my heart, while I’m being trained as a cross-cultural missionary. A cross-cultural missionary is a worker of the Lord that leaves his/her culture to go preach the Gospel to a completely different culture, most of the times speaking a different language; this is my case. What has God spoke to your heart regarding your calling? I would love to hear from you! What’s Beyond Mexico and why should we care?

I believe in the great work God is doing in Mexico through the His Church. The Gospel is being preached, churches are being planted and Jesus is being light to my country. I am a living testimony that Jesus is saving Mexicans! Thanks Lord for your mercy! As you may see (else, this is your first time hearing it) Mexico has a lot of need, but is still considered a reached country, as all the states have more than 2% of christians living in them. But…how is the rest of the world doing?

Beyond Mexico, the world is not doing so great. 3.2 billion people haven’t EVER heard the name of the Lord Jesus Christ preached in their own language, nor do they have available the Bible in their own tongue. This is crazy and heart-breaking right? Have you ever heard of the 10/40 window? The 10/40 window is the most Unreached region on planet earth. The people in this region are dying every day without ever hearing from our Savior. Lord, please send workers to your harvest.

God has placed a burden in my heart for those Unreached People Groups in the world, especially in the 10/40 Window. They remind me a lot to the Gentiles, as Paul describes them in Ephesians 2:12, those “having no hope and without God in the world“.

After months of prayer, God directed my attention and prayers to a specific group in the 10/40 Window: the Muslims. Muslims are predominant in the Arab World. They are the leading religion in the North of Africa and in the Middle East, and the second leading religion in the whole planet (Almost 1/4 of the world is Muslim!).

A vision to reach the Middle East

God has opened a door through long time prayers from the team in Calvary Chapel Saving Grace and many other members of the body of Christ, and a team has being sent to the Middle East to take on this work of the Lord with the mission of planting a church and opening a Bible Institute that is to be a Sending Hub to the whole Arab World!

I’m praying to be part of this team of many nationalities from around the world, and be one of many Mexicans that will serve the Lord in the Middle East. We are called to preach Jesus in Mexico and Beyond! I believe in this! God is preparing the way for many more Latin Americans/Spanish-speakers who are called to this region and I praise Him for that.

As many of the Middle East countries are closed-countries to the Gospel and with high persecution to christians, the country I’m praying for isn’t going to be named. We will call it Country N. God has clearly called me to this region of the world, so I ask for your continous prayers for the team in Country N and for my life as I prepare to head out to the field. As God provides to be a fully supported missionary, my next goal is to save enough money to head out to the Middle East and have a vision trip to confirm God’s calling to this region, to recognize the land and get to know the culture. This trip has an approximate cost of $2,000 dollars. Help me praying for this, please!

Don’t forget the training!

This whole year, Calvary Chapel Saving Grace will be preparing me in the Missions Training School by providing for me training in God’s Word, giving me the opportunity to serve in different ministries, enrolling in culture classes, dealing with financial mangement, and I will also be able to connect and be encouraged by other missionaries (especially the youngest ones) who are called to the nations. One month ago, I decided to start learning the Arab language, as most of the Middle East countries and muslims speak variations of Arabic, so I pray for perseverance in this matter.

¡Hola a todos! ¡Bienvenidos nuevamente a mi actualización sobre Misiones! Gracias por sus oraciones y apoyo familia. Gracias a Dios llegué el 24 de octubre a Yorba Linda, California, mi nuevo hogar para el próximo año. Para aquellos de ustedes que es su primera vez leyendo este blog, el verano pasado pasé 6 semanas en la Escuela de Misiones de Calvary (CSOM) con el equipo de Calvary Chapel Saving Grace buscando la dirección de Dios en mi vida. Después de regresar a mi ciudad en México durante dos meses, Dios confirmó su llamado en mi vida para ser misionero de tiempo completo en el extranjero. ¡Gracias Jesús por tu bondad, gracias por tu dirección!

Por cierto, las admisiones para CSOM 2024 están abiertas. Esta escuela (sólo inglés) fue una gran bendición para mi vida y una herramienta que Dios usó grandemente para guiarme hacia mi llamado. ¡Les recomiendo bastante esta opción! Todo este año estaré orando por el país que Dios puso en mi corazón para servirle, mientras me capacito como misionero intercultural. Un misionero intercultural es un servidor del Señor que deja su cultura para ir a predicar el Evangelio a una cultura completamente diferente, la mayoría de las veces hablando un idioma diferente; este es mi caso. ¿Qué ha hablado Dios a tu corazón respecto a tu llamado? ¡Me encantaría saber de ti! Al final de este blog, puedes encontrar el resumen del Día 1 de la Conferencia de Misiones de Sudamérica, “Comisionado”, si desea escuchar un poco más sobre las misiones. ¡Tómate un momento para ver cómo Dios se mueve alrededor del mundo!

¿Qué hay Más allá de México y por qué debería importarnos?
Creo en la gran obra que Dios está haciendo en México a través de Su Iglesia. El Evangelio está siendo predicado, iglesias están siendo plantadas y Jesús está siendo luz para mi país. ¡Soy un testimonio vivo de que Jesús está salvando a los mexicanos! ¡Gracias Señor por tu misericordia! Como podrás ver (de lo contrario, esta es la primera vez que lo escuchas) México tiene mucha necesidad, pero todavía se considera un país alcanzado, ya que todos los estados tienen más del 2% de cristianos viviendo en ellos. Pero… ¿cómo le va al resto del mundo?

Más allá de México, las cosas no van muy bien. 3.2 billones de personas NUNCA han escuchado el nombre de Jesucristo, nuestro Señor proclamado en su idioma, tampoco tienen biblias traducidas en su lengua nativa. Esto es algo que todavía no termino de comprender y que quiebra mi corazón. ¿Alguna vez has oído hablar de la Ventana 10/40? La Ventana 10/40 es la zona menos alcanzada por el Evangelio en el mundo. Las personas en esta región están muriendo cada día sin haber escuchado de nuestro Salvador. Señor, envía obreros a tu mies.

Dios ha puesto una carga en mi corazón para servir entre aquellos Grupos No Alcanzados en el mundo, específicamente en la Ventana 10/40. Me recuerdan mucho a los gentiles, como los describe Pablo en Efesios 2:12, aquellos “sin esperanza y sin Dios en el mundo”.

Después de meses de oración, Dios dirigió mi atención y oraciones a un grupo específico que se concentra en la Ventana 10/40: los musulmanes. Los musulmanes son predominantes en el mundo árabe. Son la religión número uno en el norte de África y en Medio Oriente, y la segunda religión líder en todo el planeta (¡casi una cuarta parte del mundo es musulmana!).

Una visión para alcanzar el Medio Oriente

Dios ha abierto una puerta a través de las oraciones del equipo de Calvary Chapel Saving Grace y muchos otros miembros del cuerpo de Cristo, y un equipo ha sido enviado al Medio Oriente para comenzar con esta obra del Señor con la misión de plantar. una iglesia y abrir un Instituto Bíblico de Calvary (CBI) que será un centro enviador a todo el mundo árabe.

Estoy orando para ser parte de este equipo de muchas nacionalidades de todo el mundo, y ser uno de tantos mexicanos que servirán al Señor en el Medio Oriente. Estamos llamados a predicar a Jesús en México y más allá! ¡Tengo fe en esto! Dios está preparando el camino para muchos más latinoamericanos/hispanohablantes que serán llamados a esta región y le agradezco de todo corazón por ello.

Como muchos de los países del Medio Oriente son países que se encuentran cerrados al Evangelio y con una gran persecución a los cristianos, el país por el que estoy orando no será nombrado. Lo llamaremos País N. Dios claramente me ha llamado a esta región del mundo, por eso les pido sus continuas oraciones por el equipo del País N y por mi vida mientras me preparo para salir al campo misionero. Mientras continúo en oración para que Dios provea para ser un misionero de tiempo completo en el Medio Oriente, mi próximo objetivo es ahorrar suficiente dinero para viajar al Medio Oriente y tener un viaje de visión para confirmar el llamado de Dios a esta región, reconocer la tierra y conocer la cultura. Este viaje tiene un costo aproximado de $2,000 dólares. ¡Ayúdame a orar por esto, por favor!

Todo este año, Calvary Chapel Saving Grace me estará preparando en la Missions Training School brindándome entrenamiento en la Palabra de Dios, dándome la oportunidad de servir en diferentes ministerios, exponiéndome a clases de cultura (¡muy importantes para todo misionero!) y manejo de finanzas, así como dándome la oportunidad de conectar y ser animado por otros misioneros (especialmente los más jóvenes) que son llamados a las naciones. Hace un mes, decidí empezar a aprender el idioma Árabe, ya que la mayoría de los países de Medio Oriente y los musulmanes hablan variaciones del Árabe. Te pido de tus oraciones por perseverancia en este asunto.

Hello family! Calvary School of Missions is over (it’s been an amazing ride!) and I’m so excited for the next steps God has for me. A few weeks ago, we met with our brothers from Culiacan (and some other parts of Mexico) to leave for the Sierra de Nayarit. I have been praying a lot for this trip; a trip that really impacted my life!

Living the Reality of the Unreached

The last 6 weeks in the school, we have been talking a lot about unreached people groups around the world, regions of the planet where Christ has not been named (not once!). This 3-day trip was like the words of the Bible, the teachings of our pastors and the stories of the missionaries, came true. “Do you believe that God exists?” one of our missionaries asked a woman from the Kuare tribe. “Yes,” she replied. “Do you want to meet him?” The woman, not knowing what to say, replied, “Yes, but I don’t know how to talk to him.” This response reminded me of Pastor Trent’s words in one of the first classes in the school: “This is the cry of the Unreached!” I could hear with my own ears the need for God in this town. This image impacted me so much that when I think about not going out to talk about Christ or when I fear for my life, I remember this cry. The world needs us to get up and tell all the nations that there is an Almighty God, who sent his Son to die for us, to cleanse us from all sin and iniquity, that he wants to have a relationship with us, so that we may know him and worship Him and His Son, that He receives everyone who seeks Him and He has power to save. Hear this cry!

The City in the Mountains

We ask for your prayers for this tribe. For a family of missionaries to rise up and go plant a church in this area, and in the meantime, so that local churches like Calvary Aguaruto can continue to provide medical support, food, and most of all, the Word of God. At this moment, we know that there are at least 7 villages with approximately 11,000 inhabitants. We only know 2 men who call themselves Christians thanks to our brothers who have traveled on previous occasions to share the Word, but need a church to congregate to continue growing in their knowledge of God and their relationship with Him. Their language is a variation of the Cora language, but it is different enough to be considered another dialect, so the Cora Bible is not a tool at this time to be able to share the Word.

We spent 3 days with the tribe. Most of the people were not fluent in Spanish, but God sent 3 young men who stayed with us the whole time we were there and helped us translate. God always provides what is necessary when we seek to do his will! We arrived on a Friday, after traveling all morning and the scenery was beautiful. After the first night, we went house to house providing medical care, taking clothing and supporting families to fix their yard. All this with the purpose of having a few minutes to share Christ. Due to the customs of the Kuaré, Pastor Antonio from Calvary Aguaruto and Jenna Pepin from Calvary Culiacán Norte reminded us that only women could approach the housewives of the homes we visited. How important it is to have women well trained in the Word and filled with His Spirit! I am grateful for the life of Elena Durán, wife of Pastor Sergio Rojas. She was in charge of sharing the Gospel in the 5 homes that we visited with my group. We know that the Spirit guided her words and also the young translator who was with us. Two of the women shed tears as we prayed with them to a God they didn’t know, but who loves them and calls them to eternal life.

The following days we shared our food with the Kuaré, we provided them with medical care, we did fair activities and games with the children, we sang praises, and most importantly: we had the first Christian service in the history of the Kuaré (in their own language ). This is living the words of Paul in the Epistle to the Romans 15:20-21, “and in this way I strove to preach the gospel, not where Christ had already been named, so as not to build on someone else’s foundation, but, as it is written: ‘Those to whom it was never told about him shall see; And those who have never heard of it will understand.

Touching their hearts with the Gospel

During the trip, I managed to learn a little over 50 words and phrases in the dialect. On the last day, God filled my heart with his love and compassion for these people as I explained a craft to a group of 30 children and talked to them about the meaning of Calvary’s Cross. Using the few words and phrases I knew, I would tell them “Tabastara anishebere”, which translated means, “God loves/loves you”. When I started to speak a little of their language, their eyes fixed on me and began to pay attention, which reminded me of Paul, being a Roman citizen and with knowledge of the Greek language, when he appeared in front of the Jewish people and began to speak in the language of their parents (Hebrew) and everyone was silent and paid attention. How important it is to learn the language of those we minister to! It is their heart language, in which they express themselves, that gives meaning to all their memories and emotions, and above all, it is the language in which they communicate with their Creator.

This is what I want to do with my life! This is the purpose to which God has called me! I am enormously grateful to my Father, to Calvary School of Missions, to my church, and to the church in Culiacán for the opportunity to be a part of this great journey. This is just the beginning!

El Clamor de los No Alcanzados

¡Hola familia! La Escuela de Misiones de Calvary ha terminado (¡ha sido un viaje increíble!) y estoy muy emocionado por los siguientes pasos que Dios tiene para mí. Hace unas semanas nos reunimos con nuestros hermanos de Culiacán (y de algunas otras partes de México) para salir rumbo a la sierra de Nayarit. He estado orando mucho por este viaje; ¡un viaje que realmente impactó mi vida!

Viviendo la realidad de los No Alcanzados

Las últimas 6 semanas en la escuela estuvimos hablando mucho acerca de los pueblos en todo el mundo que no han sido alcanzados, regiones en el planeta en donde Cristo no ha sido nombrado (¡ni una sola vez!). Este viaje de 3 días fue como si las palabras de la Biblia, las enseñanzas de nuestros maestros y las historias de los misioneros, se volvieran realidad. “¿Crees que Dios existe?”, preguntó una de nuestras misioneras a una mujer de la tribu Kuaré. “Sí”, respondió. “¿Quieres conocerlo?”. La mujer sin saber que decir contestó, “sí, pero no sé cómo hablar con Él”. Esta respuesta me recordó a las palabras de Pastor Trent en una de las primeras clases de la escuela: “¡Este es es el clamor de los No Alcanzados!”. Pude oír con mis propios oídos la necesidad de Dios en este pueblo. Esta imagen me impactó tanto, que cuando pienso en no salir a hablar de Cristo o cuando temo por mi vida, recuerdo este clamor. El mundo necesita que nos levantemos y vayamos a decirle a todas las naciones que SÍ existe un Dios Todopoderoso, que envió a su Hijo para morir por nosotros, para limpiarnos de todo pecado e iniquidad, que desea tener una relación con nosotros, que le conozcamos, que le adoremos a Él y a su Hijo, que Él recibe a todo aquel que le busca y tiene poder para salvar. ¡Escucha este clamor!

La ciudad en las montañas

Te pido de tus oraciones por esta tribu. Para que una familia de misioneros se levante y vaya a plantar una iglesia en esta área, y mientras tanto, para que las iglesias locales como Calvary Aguaruto puedan seguir brindando apoyo médico, comida y, princpalmente, la Palabra de Dios. En este momento, sabemos que existen por lo menos 7 aldeas con aproximadamente 11,000 habitantes. Sólo conocemos a 2 hombres que se hacen llamar cristianos gracias a nuestros hermanos que han viajados en ocasiones anteriores a compartir la Palabra, pero necesitan una iglesia dónde congregarse para seguir creciendo en el conocimiento de Dios y su relación con Él. Su idioma es una variación del lenguaje Cora, pero es lo suficientemente diferente como para ser considerado otro dialecto, por lo que la Biblia en Cora no es un medio en este momento para poder compartir la Palabra.

Estuvimos 3 días con la tribu. La mayoría de la gente no hablaba Español fluido, pero Dios envió 3 jóvenes que permanecieron con nosotros todo el tiempo que estuvimos ahí y nos ayudaron a traducir. ¡Dios siempre provee lo necesario cuando buscamos hacer su voluntad! Llegamos un día viernes, después de viajar toda la madrugada y el paisaje era hermoso. Después de la primera noche, fuimos casa por casa brindando atención médica, llevando y apoyando a las familias a arreglar su patio. Todo esto con el motivo de tener unos minutos para compartir de Cristo. Debido a las costumbres de los Kuaré, Pastor Antonio de Calvary Aguaruto y Jenna Pepin de Calvary Culiacán Norte nos recordaron que sólo las mujeres podían acercarse a las amas de casa los hogares que visitamos. ¡Qué importante es tener mujeres bien entrenadas en la Palabra y llenas de su Espíritu! Estoy agradecido por la vida de Elena Durán, esposa del Pastor Sergio Rojas. Ella se encargó de compartir el Evangelio en los 5 hogares que visitamos con mi grupo. Sabemos que el Espíritu guió sus palabras y también al joven traductor que iba con nosotros. Dos de las mujeres se bañaron en lágrimas cuando oramos junto con ellas a un Dios que no conocían, pero que los ama y los llama a la vida eterna.

Los siguientes días compartimos de nuestra comida con los Kuaré, les brindamos atención médica, hicimos actividades y juegos de feria con los niños, cantamos alabanzas, y lo más importante: tuvimos el primer servicio cristiano en la historia de los Kuaré (en su propia lengua). Esto es vivir las palabras de Pablo en la Epístola a los Romanos 15:20-21, “y de esta manera me esforcé a predicar el evangelio, no donde Cristo ya hubiese sido nombrado, para no edificar sobre fundamento ajeno, sino, como está escrito: ‘Aquellos a quienes nunca les fue anunciado acerca de él, verán; Y los que nunca han oído de él, entenderán’ “.

Alcanzando su corazón con el Evangelio

Durante el viaje, logré aprender un poco más de 50 palabras y frases en el dialecto. El último día, Dios llenó mi corazón de su amor y compasión por esta gente mientras le explicaba una manualidad a un grupo de 30 niños y les hablaba sobre el significado de la Cruz del Calvario. Usando las pocas palabras y frases que conocía, les decía “Tabastara anishebere”, que traducido significa, “Dios te quiere/ama”. Cuando empecé a hablar un poco de su lengua, sus ojos se fijaron en mí y comenzaron a poner atención, lo que me recordó cuando Pablo, siendo ciudadano romano y con conocimiento de la lengua Griega. se presentó frente al Pueblo judío y comenzó a hablar en la lengua de sus padres (Hebreo) y todos callaron y pusieron atención. ¡Cuan importante es aprender el lenguaje de aquellos que ministramos! Es su lenguaje de corazón, en el que se expresan, que da significado a todos sus recuerdos y emociones, y sobretodo, es el lenguaje en el que se comunican con su Creador.

¡Esto es lo que quiero hacer con mi vida! ¡Este es el propósito al cual Dios me ha llamado! Estoy enormemente agradecido con mi Padre, con la Escuela de Misiones de Calvary, con mi iglesia y con la iglesia en Culiacán por la oportunidad de formar parte de este gran viaje. ¡Esto sólo es el principio!

cONFERENCIA ANUAL DE PLANTACIÓN DE IGLESIAS EN rosarito

¡Qué tal familia! Les mando un abrazo desde Rosarito, Baja California. Estos dos últimos días han sido una locura. Misioneros, plantadores de iglesias y servidores de todo México (y el mundo) se reunieron para la conferencia anual de plantación de iglesias en Calvary Rosarito llamada “The Sending Hub” (el centro enviador). Un Sending Hub, es una iglesia que planta iglesias que planta iglesias. Suena confuso, ¿cierto? Pero, esta es la manera en la que Dios alcanza a las naciones. Es para mí un gran honor y una bendición el poder estar presente por segundo año consecutivo en este evento. ¡Es la mejor época del año sin dudas!

El día de ayer, sábado, tuve la oportunidad de servir en la cocina de la iglesia lado a lado con mis hermanos de la Escuela de Misiones. Servimos más de 650 platos de comida a todos los asistentes de la conferencia. ¡El evento fue enorme! Estoy agradecido con Dios por todas aquellas personas a las que Dios habló en este tiempo. La mejor parte para mí fue el poder alabar a Dios como un sólo cuerpo sin importar la nacionalidad, escuchar las alabanzas en diferentes idiomas y cantar al Rey de Reyes y Señor de Señores. Que todo lo que respire alabe a Dios. Los oradores invitados me encantaron. Fue de gran orgullo para mí poder escuchar a mi tío (pastor Hugo Limón) poder enseñar sobre plantación de iglesias. ¡En mi tiempo sirviendo en Culiacán hace 2 años pude ser parte de este movimiento y ser entrenado en la Escuela de Plantación de Iglesias!

En los últimos 7 años, Calvary Culiacán Norte, la iglesia liderada por pastor Hugo, ha plantado 9 iglesias en toda la ciudad de Culiacán. Es un verdadero mover del Espíritu. Lo más sorprendente es que esto no se detiene ahí. Calvary Aguaruto, una de esas iglesias plantadas por pastor Hugo con visión de Sending Hub, ha tomado la responsabilidad de llevar el Evangelio a una tribu “no alcanzada” en la sierra de Nayarit. El día 14 de agosto un equipo de todas estas iglesias de Culiacán y nuestro grupo de la Escuela de Misiones iremos a la tribu Kuaré a predicar el Evangelio. ¿Puedes orar por nosotros? ¡Estamos viviendo la Gran Comisión de nuestro Señor Jesucristo!

Un grupo denominado como no alcanzado, hace referencia a que el nombre de Jesucristo no ha sido proclamado nunca en la región, por lo tanto no hay una iglesia a la cual asistir o alguna manera de recibir las Buenas Nuevas. Sabemos por medio de nuestra amiga y misionera, Jenna Pepin, que hay sólo 3 adultos y 1 joven que han entregado su vida a Cristo en una población de más de 8,000 personas. Como puedes ver, lo que empezó como la iglesia plantada en Culiacán, ahora está multiplicándose y alcanzando regiones nunca antes visitadas. ¡Qué hermoso es plantar iglesias! Esta es, sin duda, una época emocionante para ser cristiano.

Te agradezco tus oraciones, Dios ha estado mostrándome un poco de su gran plan en mi vida. El plantar iglesias ha sido mi meta desde que comencé a servir fielmente al Señor, y después de 3 años de entrenamiento bíblico y ministerial, se está acercando el momento en que pueda formar parte de un equipo plantador de iglesias. ¿Puedes orar por eso? Dios me ha llamado a servirle de tiempo completo como misionero y estoy siendo preparado en mi iglesia, Calvary Monterrey, para el llamado al pastorado. Te agradecería mucho si puedes continuar orando por la voluntad de Dios en mi vida y por su provisión. Actualmente, no cuento con ningún apoyo financiero para poder ser enviado como misionero de largo plazo. The Best Time of the Year (Better than Christmas!)

What’s up family! I send you a hug from Rosarito, Baja California. These last two days have been crazy. Missionaries, church planters, and servants from all over Mexico (and the world) gathered for the annual church planting conference at Calvary Rosarito called “The Sending Hub.” A Sending Hub is a church that plants churches that plant churches. Sounds exciting, right? This is the way that God reaches out to the nations. It is a great honor and a blessing for me to be able to be present for the second consecutive year at this event. It is the best time of the year without a doubt!

Yesterday, I had the opportunity to serve in the kitchen of the church side by side with my brothers from the School of Missions. We served over 650 plates of food to all the conference attendees. The event was huge! I am grateful that God spoke to the hearts of the people who attended the conference. The best part for me was being able to praise God as one body regardless of nationality. I got to hear praises in different languages ​​as we all sang to the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. May everything that breathes praise God. I loved the guest speakers. It was a great privilege for me to be able to hear my uncle, Pastor Hugo Limón, teach about church planting. In my time serving in Culiacán 2 years ago, I was able to be a part of this movement and be trained in the Church Planting School!

In the last 7 years, Calvary Culiacán Norte, the church led by Pastor Hugo, has planted 9 churches throughout the city of Culiacán. It is a true move of the Spirit. The most surprising thing is that this does not stop here. Calvary Aguaruto, one of those churches planted by Calvary Culiacán Norte with a vision of Sending Hub, has taken on the responsibility of taking the Gospel to an “unreached” tribe in the Sierra de Nayarit. On August 14, a team from all these churches in Culiacán and our group from the School of Missions will go to the Kuaré tribe to preach the Gospel. Can you pray for us? We are living out the Great Commission of our Lord Jesus Christ!

A group classified as unreached, refers to the fact that the name of Jesus Christ has never been proclaimed in the region, therefore there is no church to attend or any way to receive the Good News. We know through our friend and missionary, Jenna Pepin, that there are only 3 adults and 1 youth who have given their lives to Christ in a population of more than 8,000 people. As you can see, what started as the church planted in Culiacán is now multiplying and reaching regions never before visited. How beautiful it is to plant churches! This is certainly an exciting time to be a Christian.

I thank you for your prayers, God has been showing me a little of His great plan in my life. Church planting has been my goal since I began to faithfully serve the Lord, and after 3 years of biblical and ministerial training, the time is drawing near when I can be part of a church planting team. Can you pray about it? God has called me to serve him full time as a missionary and I am being prepared in my church, Calvary Monterrey, to be a pastor. I would really appreciate it if you can continue to pray for God’s will in my life and for his provision. Currently, I do not have any financial support to be sent as a long-term missionary. Obedeciendo a Cristo en el llamado al campo misionero

¡Hola a todos! Estoy emocionado por compartir una semana más en la Escuela de Misiones con ustedes. Ya estamos comenzando la 4ta. semana de entrenamiento. ¡El tiempo se ha ido volando! Te invito a suscribirte a mi reporte de misiones si aún no lo has hecho, de esta manera podrás apoyar la obra de Dios a través de la oración. ¡Muchas gracias por continuar orando por el grupo y por mí!

A sólo 2 semanas de terminar nuestro tiempo de preparación aquí, he estado preguntando a Dios qué es lo que Dios hará después con cada uno de nosotros. Sólo oro a Dios que me dé la fe para poder obedecer su voz aún y cuando no lo comprenda o no crea que sea lo mejor para mí. ¿Alguna vez has pensado esto? Algo que he observado en todos los misioneros que conozco es su rechazo o resistencia al plan de Dios al principio. ¿Realmente estamos dispuestos a rendirnos completamente al plan de Dios? ¿Qué tal si en el camino perdemos a nuestra familia? ¿Podríamos decidir dejar nuestro trabajo, casa y comodidad? Esto es difícil de pensar, pero son las preguntas que un misionero debe hacerse al poner su total confianza en el llamado de Dios. Cuando imaginamos las misiones, sentimos la adrenalina y pensamos en lo importante que esto eso, y eso trae emoción por un momento, pero algo que he aprendido es que la convicción de servir a Dios proviene de un entendimiento de su voluntad y una profunda disposición a obedecer. Obedecer no es fácil. La obediencia requiere soltar lo que está fuera de tu control y morir a tus deseos más grandes. Aún y con todo, Dios bendice grandemente a aquellos que se sujetan a Él y dejan su vida en sus manos. ¡No hay un mejor lugar para estar, que en la voluntad de Dios! Pero, ¿alguna vez te has imaginado el costo de desobedecer a Dios?

El costo de la desobediencia

Si a ti te gusta leer la Biblia, recordarás a Abraham y la promesa que Dios le dio por su fe. Dios le pidió algo muy difícil, ‘Deja tu país, tu gente y la familia de tu papá, y ve a una tierra que yo te mostraré’ (Génesis 12:1, PDT), y le prometió: “Y serán benditas en ti todas las familias de la tierra” (Génesis 12:3, RVR-1960). Esta profecía es la promesa del nacimiento de Jesús, quien vino a traer salvación a todas las naciones de la tierra. La obediencia no sólo trajo bendición a Abraham, sino a millones de personas, todos aquellos que por el nombre de Jesucristo tienen perdón de pecados y vida eterna. ¡Qué hubiera pasado si Abraham no hubiera obedecido a Dios! Aunque Dios en su soberanía ya conoce todo lo que sucederá, el costo de nuestra desobediencia, así como lo fue con Abraham, no sólo afecta nuestra vida, sino la de muchos otros.

En esto medito: ¿Qué pasaría si todos esos misioneros sirviendo en este momento hubieran desobedecido el llamado Dios? ¿Qué pasa con todos aquellos obreros de Dios que están ignorando la comisión de Dios de alcanzar a todos los pueblos? ¿Qué pasará con todas las personas que nunca escucharán de Cristo? Millones de almas se perderán, más de 3.2 millones de personas no han escuchado jamás el Evangelio. Este es el costo de la desobediencia. Y esta es la misma pregunta que yo me hago. ¿Cuál es el costo de ignorar lo que Dios me ha llamado a hacer? Oro a Dios que cumpla su voluntad en mi vida y que pueda obedecer su voz.

Comenzando a obedecer a Dios

Un misionero una vez dijo: “Las misiones son una vida cristiana normal, en un contexto diferente”. Cuando sentí que Dios me estaba llamando a servirle, recordé esto y me di cuenta que la mejor preparación para mí era vivir una vida de misionero sin importar el lugar en donde estuviera. Una vida cristiana regular, debería ser radical. El compartir de Cristo debería ser nuestra única ambición y pasión, aquello que nos despierta en la mañana y que nos inquieta en la noche.

El otro día cuando fuimos a evangelizar a la playa aquí en Rosarito, tuvimos la oportunidad de poner en práctica aquello que Dios nos mandó a hacer. ¡Fue un tiempo de gran gozo y bendición el poder ver la mano de Dios con nosotros! Mientras caminábamos en la playa Hannah, Bear, Bethsaina y yo, encontramos a una familia en la orilla. Uno de ellos era un niño, su nombre era Fernando. Platicamos un rato y ellos estuvieron dispuestos a escuchar, compartir y a recibir nuestra oración. Fernando nos contó su deseo más grande: “Me estoy preparando para ser salvavidas cuando crezca”. En ese momento sonreí y recordé aquello que Jesús dijo en el Evangelio de Lucas, “porque el Hijo del Hombre no ha venido para perder las almas de los hombres, sino para salvarlas“ (Lucas 9:56, RVR-1960), entonces le dije a Fernando: “Si te gusta salvar vidas deberías probar a Jesús, Él también salva vidas, ¿no te gustaría ser como Él”. Espero en el Señor que alguna día pueda serlo. ¡Por favor ora por la vida de Fernando, su familia y todas las personas que recibieron la invitación a Calvary Rosarito! Algo que me encanta del evangelismo es que todo siempre apunta a la cruz. Dios pone el momento y las palabras para hacer que esto se trate de Él. Muchas veces no podemos hacer nada más que plantar la semilla, pero en Dios confiamos que aquella semilla pueda crecer y ser un árbol que dé mucho fruto. ¡Esa es nuestra oración!

Esta semana también fuimos a visitar a Pastor Martín de Capilla de Calvario Rancho Santa Cruz y a pastor Ángel en su misión en la reserva de indios. ¡Gracias a Dios pudimos compartir del amor de Cristo a decenas de adultos y niños, llevamos comida, actividades para los niños, ropa y la Palabra de Dios! En esta ocasión, pude apoyar a mi querido pastor Tim Pappas y a mi hermano Bear con la traducción, y también en el ministerio de niños. Dios ha sido bueno conmigo y he podido desenvolverme bien en esta tarea. ¡Gloria a Dios!

Agradecimientos

Les agradezco enormemente sus oraciones, especialmente a mi iglesia, sé que Dios me sostienen con cada una de ellas. Especialmente me gustaría agradecer a todos aquellos que se han asociado conmigo para apoyarme con sus finanzas cumpliendo mi llamado para el Señor. The Cost of Disobedience

Hello everyone! I am excited to share with you another week in the Calvary School of Missions. We are already starting with our 4th. Week of training. Time has flown by! With just over 2 weeks to go in CSOM, I have been asking God what He will do next with each of us. I just pray to God to give me the faith to be able to obey His voice even when I don’t understand or don’t think it’s the best for me. Have you ever thought about this? One thing I have observed in all the missionaries I know is their rejection or resistance to God’s plan at first. Are we really willing to completely surrender to God’s plan? What if we lose our family along the way? Could we decide to leave our job, home and comfort? This is hard to think about, but these are the questions that a missionary must ask himself when placing his whole trust in God’s calling. When we imagine missions, we feel the adrenaline rush and think about how important this is, and that brings excitement for a moment, but something I have learned is that the conviction to serve God comes from the understanding of His will and a profound willingness to obey. Obeying is not easy. Obedience requires letting go of what is out of your control and dying to your greatest desires. God greatly blesses those who submit to Him and leave their lives in His hands. There is no better place to be than in the will of God! But have you ever imagined the cost of disobeying God?

The Cost of Disobedience

If you like to read the Bible, you will remember Abraham and the promise that God gave him through his faith. God asked him something very difficult,”“Get out of your country, from your family, and from your father’s house, to a land that I will show you.” (Genesis 12:1, NKJV), and promised him,“And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed” (Genesis 12:3, NKJV). This prophecy is the promise of the birth of Jesus, who came to bring salvation to all the nations of the earth. Obedience not only brought blessing to Abraham, but to millions of people, all of those that in the name of Jesus Christ have forgiveness of sins and eternal life. What would have happened if Abraham had not obeyed God! Although God in his sovereignty already knows everything that will happen, the cost of our disobedience, just as it was with Abraham, not only affects our lives, but that of many others.

In this I meditate: What would happen if all those missionaries serving at this moment had disobeyed the call of God? What about all those workers of God who are ignoring God’s commission to reach all nations? What will happen to all the people who will never hear of Christ? Millions of souls will be lost, more than 3.2 million people have never heard the Gospel. This is the cost of disobedience. And this is the same question that I ask myself. What is the cost of ignoring what God has called me to do? I pray to God that He fulfills his will in my life and that I can obey His voice.

Beginning to Obey God

A missionary once said, “Missions are a normal Christian life, in a different context”. When I felt that God was calling me to serve Him, I remembered this and realized that the best preparation for me was to live a missionary life no matter where I was. A regular Christian life should be radical. Sharing our love for Christ should be our only ambition and passion, what wakes us up in the morning and makes us restless at night.

The other day when we went to evangelize on the beach here in Rosarito, and we had the opportunity to put into practice what God commanded us to do. It was a time of great joy and blessing to be able to see the hand of God with us! As Hannah, Bear, Bethsaina and I walked on the beach, we found a family on the shore. One of them was a boy, his name was Fernando. We talked for a while and they were willing to listen, share and receive our prayers. Fernando told us his biggest wish: “I’m getting ready to be a lifeguard when I grow up.” At that moment I smiled and remembered what Jesus said in the Gospel of Luke,“For the Son of Man did not come to destroy men’s lives but to save them.” (Luke 9:56, NKJV), so I told Fernando: “If you like to save lives you should try Jesus, He also saves lives, wouldn’t you like to be like Him?” I hope in the Lord that one day he can be. Please pray for the life of Fernando, his family and all the people who received the invitation to Calvary Rosarito! Something I love about evangelism is that everything always points to the cross. God puts the right moment and words to make this about Him. Many times we cannot do anything more than plant the seed, but in God we trust that that seed can grow and be a tree that bears much fruit. That is our prayer!

This week we also went to visit Pastor Martín from Capilla de Calvario Rancho Santa Cruz and Pastor Ángel at their mission on the Indian reservation. Thank God we were able to share the love of Christ with dozens of adults and children, we brought food, activities for the children, clothes and the Word of God! On this occasion, I was able to support my dear pastor Tim Pappas and my brother Bear with the translation, and in children’s ministry. God has been good to me and I have been able to perform well in this task. Glory to God!

¡Hola a todos! Ya está lista la actualización de la Semana 3 y estoy muy emocionado por compartirla con ustedes. Les agradezco por mantenerme a mí y al equipo en sus oraciones; ¡ya estamos listos para comenzar la semana con todo! Estos últimos días han abiertos mis ojos a las dificultades en el campo misionero. Desde problemas con el lenguaje (ya que todas las clases son en inglés), cansancio y guerra espiritual, hasta rechazo del mensaje del Evangelio y una sensación de temor en mi corazón por lo que viene. Esta semana hemos aprendido cómo el Espíritu Santo nos da la victoria sobre la opresión del enemigo en nuestra vida, ¡qué gran bendición!

Actualización del grupo

Desde nuestra llegada a Rosarito, no han faltado las pesadillas, el cansancio y la guerra espiritual. ¡No sólo lo estamos aprendiendo desde una perspectiva bíblica, sino que también lo estamos viviendo en nuestro día a día! Durante esta semana 7 personas se enfermaron y no pudieron asistir a los alcances evangelísticos o a las mañanas de servicio en las iglesias locales. Agradecemos a Dios porque 3 personas ya se recuperaron, por favor ora por aquellos que todavía están en cama por este padecimiento. Ora con nosotros por sanidad en sus cuerpos, así nos podremos enfocar totalmente en la obra del Señor. ¡Parece que estamos en medio de una guerra! Y sí, estamos, desde el momento que decidimos venir a la escuela con la misión de prepararnos para alcanzar nuestra comunidad, nuestro país y todo el mundo con la luz del Evangelio.

Aprendiendo a pelear la Buena Batalla

Creo que todo cristiano ha experimentado lo que es la guerra espiritual en algún punto de su vida. ¿Sabes que en este mismo momento una batalla espiritual está ocurriendo mientras lees este blog? La Biblia nos enseña que “no tenemos lucha contra sangre y carne, sino contra principados, contra potestades, contra los gobernadores de las tinieblas de este siglo, contra huestes espirituales de maldad en las regiones celestes” (Efesios 6:12, RVR-1960). Esta semana hemos tenido el privilegio de escuchar a 4 misioneros de Saving Grace World Missions (SGWM) sirviendo en regiones del Norte de África, el Sureste de Asia y de Latino América sobre su experiencia personal en la guerra espiritual. Agradecemos a Dios “el cual nos ha librado de la potestad de las tinieblas, y trasladado al reino de su amado Hijo”(Colosenses 1:13, RVR-1960). Algo que me encanta de la Escuela de Misiones es como aprendemos y todo lo ponemos en práctica, y todo lo que ya sabemos, lo vivimos. ¡Es preparación de gran valor para el campo misionero!

Peleando en el campo misionero

Esta semana nos asociamos con Capilla Calvario Tecolote (CC Tecolote) para llevar acabo un alcance evangelístico en su comunidad. Tuvimos dos adultos que profesaron fe en Jesucristo y algunos niños. ¡Gloria a Dios! Agradecemos a nuestro Dios por levantar esta hermosa iglesia y por traer cada día aquellos que han creer en su Nombre. En estos días de comunión con CC tecolote, tuve la oportunidad de ser usado por Dios en la traducción de la Palabra y servicio en el ministerio de niños. A través de una pequeña obra representando a Adán y Eva, pudimos compartir el Evangelio con los más pequeños de la iglesia. ¡Qué bendición poder ver todos esos ojos atentos, esos corazones tiernos y esas almas listas para recibir la Buenas Nuevas del Evangelio! He sido bendecido con la oportunidad de traducir la Palabra de Dios varias veces en el viaje. Este domingo pasado, pude compartir el púlpito con un misionero de SGWM y traducir el mensaje que Dios tenía para nosotros a través del Evangelio de Mateo. Después, me quedé con el equipo de la escuela a compartir un tiempo de alabanza, servicio y comida, para finalmente terminar orando por ellos.

México está siendo alcanzado por el Señor de maneras sorprendentes. ¡Toda la gloria para Él! Te pido de tus oraciones por México, por sus plantadores de iglesias, pastores y misioneros mientras toman un paso de fe por alcanzar su nación con el Evangelio. Muchas gracias por seguir leyendo hasta este punto, espero que estos pequeños blogs puedan ser de bendición para tu vida y realmente espero que hayas podido ver la gracia, amor y poder de Dios trabajando hoy en día. Estas últimas semanas, Dios ha puesto un deseo en mi corazón por orar por las naciones y me ha movido a tomar pasos para buscar servir en la Ventana 10/40. Desde que me comprometí a seguir a Cristo, he podido sentir el llamado de Dios a ser pastor. Quiero entrenar a otros para impactar sus comunidades a través de plantación de iglesias, equipando obreros para ir por todo el mundo. Siento una fuerte convicción salir de mi país para ministrar a aquellos que no han escuchado jamás el Nombre que los puede salvar. Te pido de tus oraciones por mi corazón, para que esté atento y dispuesto a ir cuado Dios me llame al campo.

DOING MISSIONS IN THE MIDST OF SPIRITUAL WARFARE

Hi everyone! Week 3 update is ready, and it is my joy to share it with you! I thank you for keeping me and the CSOM group in your prayers as we start a new week full of adventures and God’s provision. These last days have been eye-opening to the real problems on the mission field. From language struggles, tiredness, spiritual warfare, infirmities, rejection of the Gospel, and experiencing fear in our hearts. This week we have learned about how the Holy Spirit works in our lives delivering us from the oppression of the enemy. 

Group Update

Nightmares, restlessness, and spiritual discomfort have been a common denominator in the team since Day One. We are not only learning but experiencing what spiritual warfare is. This week, more than 7 people are sick, preventing them from serving at outreaches and church services. We thank the Lord for the 3 people who have already recovered from this, please pray for those who are still sick. Please pray for our health, so we can continue focusing on the Lord’s work. It seems we are in the middle of war! And yes, we are, as our mission in this school is to prepare ourselves to reach our community, our country, and the world with the Light of the Gospel. Please pray for us as we keep Fighting the Good Fight.

Learning to Fight the Good Fight

Every Christian has gone through spiritual warfare at one point in their walk with the Lord. Did you know a spiritual battle is taking place at this right moment as you read through this blog? “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places” (Ephesians 6:12, NKJV). This week we had the opportunity to hear from four of (Saving Grace World Missions) SGWM missionaries in North Africa, Southeast Asia, and in Latin America as they approached this same topic from real life experience in the field. We thank the Lord as “He has delivered us from the power of the darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love” (Colossians 1:13, NKJV). I love the School of Missions, as everything we learn, we do and everything we know, we practice. It’s straight up hands-on preparation for missions!

Battling in the Missions Field

This week, we partnered with Capilla de Calvario Tecolote (CC Tecolote) to evangelize through in their community. We had 2 new believers at Sunday’s Service and several kids putting their faith in Jesus Christ. Praise God! We thank the Lord for establishing CC Tecolote in this neighborhood and for adding day to day those who are being saved. I was able to be used by the Lord here in translating and helping in the Children’s Ministry. We presented the kids a skit of Adam and Eve and we got to share the Gospel right after! What a wonderful blessing to see those watchful eyes, those tender hearts, those innocent souls receive the Good News of the Gospel! I am blessed as my leaders have assigned me multiple times to translation duties throughout the trip. This past Sunday, I had the opportunity to share the pulpit with one of SGWM missionaries and translate God’s message for the church as we dove into verse-by-verse teaching in the Gospel of Matthew. We got to serve the people, share worship time and food with them, and finally, pray for them.

Mexico is being reached by the Lord in amazing ways. All the glory to God! I take the opportunity to ask you to pray for Mexico, for church planters, pastors and missionaries taking a step of faith to reach it with the Gospel. Specially, I give thanks for the work of the Lord and lives of my pastor, Pedro Velázquez and his family laboring in Monterrey, for Pastor Hugo Limón and his family laboring in Culiacan, for pastor Luis and his family laboring in Morelia, for Calvary Maranatha, Calvary Los Mochis, Calvary Patzcuaro, Calvary Rosarito, Calvary Imperial Beach, Calvary Trujillo in Peru, and all the churches God is using to reach the Hispanic community! Thanks for reading until this point, I hope these short blogs have blessed your life and I truly hope you have seen God’s grace, love, and power working today. Lately, God has been placing a desire in my heart to pray for the nations, and He has been stirring me to take steps towards serving Him in the 10/40 Window. Since I’ve decided to be a serious follower of Christ (many would call me weird), I felt God’s calling to be a pastor. I want to train others to impact their communities through church planting to equip laborers to go to all the world. I’ve felt a strong conviction to go overseas to minister cross-culturally to those who haven’t heard yet the Name that can save them. I ask you to pray for my heart to be attentive and available to go when God calls me to the field.

La Gran Comisión de Jesús

Años atrás, cuando llegué a los pies de Cristo, mi deseo más grande era ir por el mundo compartiendo de Jesús y su gran sacrificio en nuestras vidas. Lamentablemente, mi entendimiento de la Biblia era superficial y mi vida de oración, inexistente. Rápidamente olvidaba las palabras que escuchaba en las reuniones de mi iglesia sólo para llegar el domingo de nuevo a arrepentirme de mis pecados y volver a comenzar. ¡No tenía idea de qué signficaba seguir a Cristo! ¿Alguna vez has sentido que tu pasión por algo es muy grande, pero no sabes qué hacer con ello? En Mateo 28:19-20, Jesús pronunció sus últimas palabras en la tierra, dejándonos con nuestra misión como Cristianos: la Gran Comisión. La Gran Comisión nos llama a predicar el Evangelio y discipular a todas las naciones del mundo. Parece que mi sueño no estaba tan mal, ¿cierto? No obstante, un obrero del Señor que no conoce su Palabra, no la pone en obra y mucho menos la puede enseñar, realmente no es muy útil, porque el siervo del Señor no debe ser contencioso, sino amable para con todos, apto para enseñar, sufrido (2 Timoteo 2:24). Después de 3 años de estudiar profundamente la Palabra de Dios, Cristo me ha mostrado claramente el significado de entregarle mi vida y cumplir la Gran Comisión. ¡Ya no sólo es una pasión, es una convicción en mi corazón!

¹⁹ Por tanto, id, y haced discípulos a todas las naciones, bautizándolos en el nombre del Padre, y del Hijo, y del Espíritu Santo; ²⁰ enseñándoles que guarden todas las cosas que os he mandado; y he aquí yo estoy con vosotros todos los días, hasta el fin del mundo. Amén.

Alcanzando al mundo con la Gran Comisión

Nuestra percepción de misiones muchas veces tiene el enfoque equivocado; el misionero no cambia al mundo, Dios lo hace a través de un grupo de obreros dispuestos y entregados a obedecer su voz, esta es la iglesia. ¡Un misionero es sólo uno de los muchos instrumentos del Señor! Es por esto que el modelo bíblico para hacer discípulos funciona través de la plantación de iglesias. No importa el lenguaje, la región o las dificultades para llegar, el Evangelio es proclamado y los discípulos son entrenados efectivamente en las iglesias locales. Estoy agradecido con la Escuela de Misiones de Calvary por tener la oportunidad de continuar con nuestro estudio de misiones a través de la Biblia. Espero poder tener algún día el privilegio de compartir todo lo aprendido con mi iglesia y toda mi familia en Cristo.

Fuera de plantación de iglesias, no existe tal cosa como las misiones.

En nuestra primera semana de entrenamiento, hemos tenido la bendición y el honor de proclamar el mensaje de salvación a tres comunidades en Rosarito y sus colonias colindantes. Nos hemos asociados con Calvary Homex, Capilla Calvario la Gloria y Calvary Rosarito para la planeación de estos eventos. Sin su cobertura y apoyo, este trabajo sería imposible, ya que nuestros alcances evangelísticos son viajes de corto plazo. De esta manera, aquellos que llegan al conocimiento de Cristo son guiados a las iglesias para ser alimentados con la predicación de la Palabra de Dios. Nosotros sólo sembramos la semilla, ¿pero quién se tomará el tiempo de regarla día con día? Este es el trabajo de las iglesias locales. Estamos agradecidos con Dios por traer a la gente que necesitaba escuchar este gran mensaje en cada uno de los eventos ¡Gloria a Dios!

Como parte nuestro tiempo de evangelismo con Capilla Calvario la Gloria, tuve la oportunidad de compartir la Palabra de Dios y presentar el Evangelio con la comunidad. ¡Qué privilegio poder representar a Jesucristo a través de la predicación! Algunas de las familias de no creyentes que invitamos llegaron con anticipación al evento y estuvieron presentes para la enseñanza verso a verso. ¡Gloria a Dios! La enseñanza de la Palabra es una de las responsabilidades que Dios me ha encomendado y para la cual me he preparado por más de dos años para el momento que Dios me llame al ministerio. ¡Agradezco a Dios por su Espíritu! Es hermoso presenciar cómo el Espíritu guía nuestras palabras cuando nuestro enfoque es Jesucristo!

Soy bendecido por el grupo de estudiantes, internos, pastores y misioneros conforman la Escuela de Misiones este año, estoy agradecido por su gran amor y sabiduría para guiarnos. Agradezco a mi iglesia y a cada uno de los miembros de mi familia en Cristo que me apoyan en oraciones y con sus finanzas. ¡Todo es para la gloria de Dios! Learning to Reach the World

HOW DOES A WORLD CHANGER REACH THE WORLD WITH THE GOSPEL?

Years ago, when I came to the feet of Christ, my greatest desire was to go around the world sharing of Jesus and His great sacrifice in our lives. Unfortunately, my understanding of the Bible was superficial and my life of prayer, non-existent. I quickly forgot the words I listened to in my church services just to get to Sunday again to repent of my sins and start again. I had no idea what it meant to follow Christ! Have you ever felt that your passion for something is very great, but you don’t know what to do with it? In Matthew 28: 19-20, Jesus spoke His last words on earth, leaving us with our mission as Christians: the Great Commission. The Great Commission calls us to preach the Gospel and disciple all the nations of the world. It seems that my dream was not so bad, right? However, a Lord’s worker who does not know his Word, does not put it into work, much less can teach it, it really is not very useful, because “a servant of the Lord must not quarrel but be gentle to all, able to teach, patient” (2 Timothy 2:24). After 3 years of deeply studying the Word of God, Christ has clearly shown me the meaning of giving my life to Him and fulfilling the Great Commission. Not only is it a passion, now it is a conviction in my heart!

“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.

Reaching the World with the Great Commission

Our perception of missions often has the wrong focus; the missionary does not change the world, God does it through a group of workers willing and called to obey His voice, this is the Church. A missionary is just one of the many instruments of the Lord! This is why the biblical model to make disciples works through churches. It doesn’t matter the language, the region, or the difficulties to reach it, the Gospel is proclaimed and the disciples are effectively trained in the local churches. I am grateful to the Calvary School of Missions for having the opportunity to continue our study of missions through the Bible. I hope to have one day the privilege of sharing everything I’ve been learning with my church and all my family in Christ.

Outside of Church Planting, there is no biblical missions.

In our first week of training, we have had the blessing and honor of proclaiming the message of salvation to three communities in Rosarito and its neighboring communities. We have associated with Calvary Homex, Chapel Calvary La Gloria and Calvary Rosarito to plan these events. Without your love and support, this work would be impossible, since our outreaches are short term. In this way, as we partner with these churches, those who come to the knowledge of Christ are guided to the churches to be fed with the preaching of the Word of God. We only sow the seed, but who will take the time to water it day by day? This is the work of local churches. We are grateful to God for bringing people who needed to hear this great message in each of the events. Glory to God!

As part of our Outreach with the Calvary Chapel La Gloria, I had the opportunity to share the Word of God and present the Gospel to the community. What a privilege to be able to represent Jesus Christ through preaching! Some of the non-believing families that we invited arrived in advance of the event and were present for the verse-by-verse teaching. Glory to God! The teaching of the Word is one of the responsibilities that God has entrusted to me. I have been preparing for more than two years for the moment God calls me to the Ministry. I thank God for His Spirit! It is beautiful to witness how the Spirit guides our words when our focus is Jesus Christ!

I am blessed by the group of students, interns, pastors and missionaries make up the School of Missions this year. I am grateful for their great love and wisdom to guide us. I thank my Church and each of the members of my family in Christ who support me in prayers and with their finances. Everything is for the glory of God! ¡Hola a todos! Les doy la bienvenida a mi actualización semanal de misiones. Hace sólo unos pocos días llegué con el equipo de Escuela de Misiones de Calvary (CSOM) a Rosarito, Baja California. ¡Estamos listos para buscar al Señor con todo nuestro corazón! Agradecemos a Dios por la hospitalidad que hemos recibido de Ron y Kristy Struska, quienes están a cargo de las instalaciones en donde nos estamos quedando (Connections House).

La preparación en estos días ha sido intensa y en ciertos momentos, agotadora. No obstante, seguimos adelante esforzándonos por entregarnos completamente a la voluntad de Dios y prepararnos para el llamado al campo misionero. ¿Alguna vez te has preguntado cómo se prepara un misionero? Una parte importante del entrenamiento que estamos recibiendo en CSOM es reconocer la importancia de una vida en la presencia de Dios, perseverando en intercesión por otros y en el estudio de su Palabra. Sin perder ningún minuto del día, nuestras mañanas comienzan a las 7:00 AM con nuestro tiempo devocional; un momento que tomamos para buscar la direcci´ón del Señor. Nuestros días se llenan con una continua exposición a la Palabra, testimonios de misioneros de gran experiencia en el campo, tiempos de oración por las naciones, alabanza, servicio a las iglesias, alcances evangelísticos en las iglesias locales y comunión con la familia en Cristo.

Dios me ha asombrado y me ha mostrado tanto a través de mi clase favorita, el Propósito de la Iglesia, impartida por Trent Douglas, pastor y fundador de Calvary Chapel Saving Grace. En estas 3 horas de estudio profundo, estamos recibiendo entrenamiento bíblico al ser expuestos al deseo y corazón de Dios para las misiones a través de su Palabra. ¡Puedo decir con convicción que mi visión ha sido radicalmente transformada y sólo es la primera semana!

Lo que comenzó en mi corazón como una disposición a ser usado por Dios ha ido evolucionando a una obediencia a responder el llamado de Dios en misiones de largo plazo. El primer día de nuestro tiempo en la escuela tuvimos una noche de orientación en donde le entregamos nuestras expectativas a Dios, nuestros deseos y planes para “rendirnos” a su perfecta voluntad y al llamado que tiene para cada uno de nosotros. El ser expuestos a la necesidad de Cristo en regiones donde el nombre de Jesús no ha sido mencionado nunca, personalmente me ha movido en compasión a predicar el evangelio a los grupos “no alcanzados” del mundo. Una población que no ha sido alcanzada se define como un grupo de personas que no tienen acceso al Evangelio porque Cristo no ha sido proclamado en esa región. Jesús es un completo desconocido, no por elección sino por falta de obreros que respondan al llamado. ¿Qué pasará con aquellos que jamás tendrán la oportunidad de escuchar el mensaje de salvación? ¿Cuál es su esperanza de vida eterna? ¿Quién irá en el nombre de Jesucristo a proclamar las Buenas Nuevas a las naciones?

Mi vida ha cambiado para siempre y el Señor ha vuelto a encender mi pasión por compartir el Evangelio con quienes me rodean y dondequiera que el Señor me guíe. Durante mi tiempo aquí, seguiré rindiéndole mis planes a Él y continuaré siendo guiado por el Espíritu Santo. Espero que hayas sido animado y movido a orar por aquellos que nunca han escuchado el Evangelio. ¿Considerarías en oración asociarte conmigo en este llamado en el que el Señor tiene para mi vida? Sus oraciones mueven montañas y su asociación financiera continuará ayudándome a crecer en el llamado que el Señor ha puesto en mi vida.

How does a missionary prepare?

Hello everyone! Welcome to my weekly update. Just a few days ago I arrived with the Calvary School of Missions (CSOM) team in Rosarito, Baja California. We are ready to seek the Lord with all our hearts! We thank God for the hospitality we have received from Ron and Kristy Struska, who are in charge of the facility where we are staying (Connections House).

The preparation these days has been intense and at times exhausting. Nevertheless, we continue to strive to surrender completely to God’s will and prepare for the call to the mission field. Have you ever wondered how a missionary prepares? An important part of the training we are receiving at CSOM is the importance of a life in the presence of God, persevering in intercession for others and in the study of his Word. Without wasting any minute of the day our mornings begin at 7:00 AM with our devotional time; a moment we take to seek the direction of the Lord. Our days are filled with continuous exposure to the Word, testimonials from highly experienced missionaries in the field, times of prayer for the nations. In a heart of praise we serve local churches through evangelistic outreach and bless them with fellowship as the family in Christ.

God has amazed me and shown me so much through my favorite class, “The Purpose of the Church”, taught by Trent Douglass who is the pastor and founder of Calvary Chapel Saving Grace. In these three hours of in-depth study, we are receiving biblical training by being exposed to God’s desire and heart for missions which we read throughout his Word. I can say with conviction that my vision has been radically transformed and it’s only the first week!

What began in my heart as a willingness to be used by God has evolved into an obedience to respond to God’s call for long-term missions. The first day of at the school we had an orientation night where we gave our expectations to God all of our desires and plans. We want to “surrender” to his perfect will and the call he has for each one of us. Being exposed to the need for Christ in regions where the name of Jesus has never been mentioned has personally moved me in compassion to preach the gospel to the “unreached” groups of the world. An unreached population is defined as a group of people who do not have access to the Gospel because Christ has not been proclaimed in that region. Jesus is a complete stranger, not by choice but by lack of workers who answer the call. What will happen to those who will never have the opportunity to hear the message of salvation? What hope do they have of eternal life?

My life has forever changed and Lord has reignited my fire to the share the Gospel to those around me and wherever the Lord would lead me. Through my time here I will continue to surrender my plans to Him and continue to lead by the Holy Spirit. I pray that you have been encouraged and stirred to pray for those who have never heard the Gospel. Would you prayerfully consider partnering with me on this journey that the Lord has me on? “WHEN GOD CALLS YOU, YOU HAVE TWO OPTIONS: YOU CAN OBEY OR YOU CAN RUN AWAY” – A WISE PASTOR

Hi everyone, my name is Marcelo Ramos! I’m currently serving full time in Mexico at Calvary Monterrey. I welcome you to my missions blog! On this site I will be giving you updates about my time of preparation in CSOM.

I’m so grateful to be part of the Calvary School of Missions (CSOM) 2023 in Rosarito, Mexico this summer. This is the first time in my life I will go abroad to continue with my training. God’s plans for my life, I don’t know. But I am carefully preparing my heart to surrender to His will. I’m really excited to spend these next 6 weeks with my beloved familiy in Christ learning about missions, church planting and God’s plan for the nations. God has moved me into reaching out to CSOM as I wait in the Lord for the moment he calls me to become a church planter, answering to the Lord’s calling to fulfill the great commission! Can you help me praying for this time in CSOM and for my life?

Last three years with God have been great. Lord’s always great, but He has worked in me ever since, so now I think He is my Everything. In the summer of 2020, I realized I couldn’t continue my life without God’s grace and He was (and still is) the reason I live for. Later on, the words of the psalmist would echo in my mind, “You are my Lord; I have no good apart from you”. From that moment and on, I became active in my service to God at church. I have always found joy and great blessings in setting out my heart to God so He can teach me a little more about his work. From serving in the media team to missionary trips and Bible teaching, Lord’s been guiding me as I continue with my training for ministry. For many, this would be otherwise boring, but I always see it as a new opportunity to learn more about the great responsibilty of serving, leading and overseeing God’s church.

In 2021, I graduated from Church Planting School (EPICC) at Calvary Culiacan Norte with Pastor Hugo Limon after one year of faithful service in my home church, Calvary Culiacan Norte, as a member of the leadership of the Youth group and as a part of the Media team. EPICC was a great time of nursing and growth in God’s Word! One year later my family and I moved to Monterrey, Mexico where I, along my brothers, started serving full time at Calvary Monterrey with Pastor Pedro Velazquez as a Bible teacher in the Children and Youth ministry, as a part of the leadership and teaching team at the church, and in various other activities and ministries, including short-term missionary trips and evangelism. This same year, I enrolled in a Biblical Discipleship Course, where I had the opportunity to reinforce my preparation in verse by verse preaching! Even though there was a great deal of learning about ministry, the most important teaching for me was God’s love for us and our calling to love people unconditionally as He loved us. Praise the Lord!

After three years of God’s instruction, I started seeking his guidance one more time, so He could show me what he expected me to do next. Surely, many of us have had this same question; a question so natural to ask, even the apostle Paul in his first encounter with the Lord happened to address, “So he, trembling and astonished, said, ‘Lord, what do You want me to do?‘” Lately, I’ve been asking this question a lot to God and many more have come up as I walk with Him. What do you want me to do, Lord? Where will You send me? When is the time to go? Since I started truly seeking God, I have found a profound desire to be used by Him. As a precaution to not misundestand this statement (as our heart is deceiful above all things), all I pray is that I may be available, teachable, grateful and diligent with the work He will command me to do.

One of the moments I will always cherish in my heart, is the time when I decided to live by faith. Before, I have thought of being a missionary and travelling all around the world to share the Gospel, but still in those days, I wasn’t ready to leave everything behind. In September of 2022, God showed me how great his plans were for me and for every soul who could say, “Here am I! Send me“. I understood He wanted me to give up anything that could obstruct me of following Him without a doubt. As the Gospel of Matthew says, “Then He said to them, ‘Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.’ They immediately left their nets and followed Him”.

In this season of my life, I have tasted one more time God’s love and grace for me; He has placed his thoughts and dreams in my heart. These past few months, I have come to see clearly God’s plan for his people through the Church’s work, and now I want to be part of that too, part of my Father’s business!

God has spoken to my life through his Word, through my brothers and sisters in Christ, and through my leaders, so I just keep moving forward in this Way. His promises and sayings have become my anchor as I walk with Him, and although I’ve failed and will fail again, I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me; “When God is calling you have two options: you can obey or you can run away”. I have decided to obey. I have chosen to follow Him, not by my power and the might of my hand, but by the saying of his Word.

I ask for your prayers as the time arrives to take this step of faith, so my heart can be rooted in God’s love and mercy, for the CSOM’s missionary group and for God’s work here in Mexico, especially in my church. Please pray for a teachable spirit, a humble and sensitive heart to God’s voice and courage to step forward, that we might always share the Gospel with boldness.

I give special thanks to my parents, brothers and all of my family in Christ, and I’m also very thankful with my church, for supporting me in prayer. I have learned a lot from each one of you! Also, I would like to thank God for the life of my pastors, Pedro Velázquez (Calvary Monterrey) and his wife, Amparo Perez, and Hugo Limón (Calvary Culiacán Norte) and his wife, Brenda Limon, and their families, for their love, advice and patience, for their time spent in my discipleship, for their faith in God’s plans for my life, for encouraging me to take steps of faith, and for their prayers and support throughout these years. I love you!
