Vincent Family October 2018 Missions Update

Greetings from Mexico,

We had a busy and blessed month of September, and in this update, I wanted to share with you about two very special events that occurred. I began my month by flying out to Punta Gorda Florida to visit our 2 year old  church plant there. (the Rock Church)  What was special about this particular trip was for the first time our church plant footed my bill for the entire missions trip, including the flight!

It is amazing to see what God has done through our church planters Aaron and Robbyn Smith and their ministry team. In just two years, God has built a church that not only is growing and reaching the lost, but is partnering with us in church planting!

Each month Pastor Aaron sends me a 500 dollar check from his church’s mission’s budget to financially partner with 5 of his friends that have planted churches down here in Mexico. And Aaron knows each one of these Pastors because they all took our church planting course together several years ago!

The main purpose of the mission’s trip was to ordain Aaron’s first two assistant Pastors. One of the reasons this church is flourishing is Aaron’s commitment to raise up local leadership and servants. And it was an honor to spend a couple days with these two men talking and encouraging them about the ministry!

At the end of the month our church hosted our annual marriage conference. Even though marriage is never easy, we know that God loves our marriages and His word holds the wisdom we need to have a blessed and fulfilling marriage. This particular conference was taught by our local church pastors, and the day was not only full of laughter and delicious food, but there was plenty of healthy marriage discussions as well.

The title of my teaching was “Light the Fire Again”, and I was able to share 5  Biblical principles on how couples can continue to have a marriage centered on love and friendship and Jesus. There was plenty of prayer and healing and restoration that our Lord did in this special time and I am very thankful for that!

The marriage conference ended with a Pastors Question and Answer panel where those in attendance asked marriage questions, and our pastors gave Bible based answers. One question for me was on a topic that was especially challenging (and kind of embarrassing), but as I stumbled and bumbled my way through my answer, my beautiful wife Sarah came up and rescued me. While she answered the question in Spanish, I even had the privilege of translating her hilarious answer into English for the bilingual crowd.

Finally, I want to thank you once again for partnering with our family and ministry in the mission field of Mexico. It is through your prayers for us that God meets our spiritual needs, and through your financial gifts that God meet’s our material needs. We love you and are honored to partner with you as your missionaries!

Con mucho amor de Mexico,  (with much love from Mexico)

Mike, Sarah, Grace, and Daniel
