Vincent Family June 2019 Missions Update

Greetings from Mexico,

Our family hopes that you and yours had a wonderful month! In this update, I wanted to share some more exciting news with you about our church facility. And to do that, I need to bring up one of the MOST BORING TOPICS in the world, parking lots!

In Mexico (and the rest of the third world) parking and parking lots are rare. When housing, apartments and even shopping malls are built, because of the struggle simply to survive, parking areas are usually just an afterthought. Sadly, most churches have little to no parking at all! But this month we were able to purchase the vacant property just south of our church building, for a new and much needed 2nd parking lot.

This property had been fenced off for many many years with a large NO TRESPASSING- PRIVATE PROPERTY sign!  (The owner was making it clear that he didn’t want us “borrowing” it, and parking cars there, while they searched for a buyer.) A few months ago, a friend in the church let us know that the lady was ready to make a deal, but we needed to move quickly and make a cash offer. Thankfully, through the generosity of our congregation we were able to purchase this property at a deep discount, put 50% cash down, with an affordable payment schedule that will allow us to pay off the property INTEREST FREE in 3 years!

This new property is a blessing to our fellowship in a number of different ways. First off, owning this land continues to allow us to purchase the prime properties around the church adjacent to the toll road. Secondly, the property will immediately function as a parking area with space for over 40 cars!  Third, this new lot is also allowing us to extend our ground floor patio for more fellowship opportunities, while also expanding our children’s playground! Forth and finally, we have future plans to use a portion of the property to add a new sand court for volleyball and footbalito! (mini sand court soccer)

I am well aware that there are millions of topics more exciting than hearing about a new church parking lot. But this purchase is a HUGE BLESSING to us and to our church family. As the church grows, the two major needs we have seen is #1- we need more parking spots for the cars, and #2- We need expanded fellowship areas for people to make connections and friendships with each other. This new property fulfills both of those two pressing needs perfectly. Only our great and mighty God could make a deal like this happen, and we are so thankful that He has!

Finally, we are very thankful to the Lord for you,  our precious friends and ministry partners for walking with us every step of the way! We truly believe the truth of our theme Bible verse that God gave us when we moved down here nearly 17 years ago! Writing about his ministry, the Apostle Paul wrote, “I planted, Apollos watered, BUT GOD gave the increase!” We are separate but equal co-workers serving together in the ripe mission fields of Mexico! Thank you for your prayers and for your financial support!

Con mucho amor de Mexico,  (with much love from Mexico)

Mike, Sarah, Grace, and Daniel

Prayer Requests!

#1-  That God would give us the vision and provide the finances to complete our expanded children’s playground, fellowship patio, and sand sports court!

#2-  That God would continue to provide for the needs of our family and church in Rosarito!

Praise Reports!

#1- Praise God for a wonderful 22 year anniversary celebration where Sarah and I were able to get away for a few days for some rest and relaxation!

#2- Praise the Lord for the purchase of our new parking lot property!
