What’s Ahead

For our update this month, we wanted to update you on where the Lord has directed us and how the vision has morphed. During our visit to Montana, we met with our church leadership. They allowed us to cast our vision, and asked us lots of questions. This time was invaluable to us and we believe the Lord spoke to us through them. We returned to California with a lot to pray about and plenty to discuss with the leadership down here. As the last month passed, we feel that doors have closed and others have remained wide open that we can see God’s fingerprints all over.

We have decided to postpone our vision tour to Japan for the time being. We still feel one hundred percent called to minister to the Japanese people, and we are confident that the Lord will send us when we are ready. In the mean time we will prepare ourselves to be as effective as possible once we get there. Please continue to pray for the Lord’s leading as we follow Him on this journey.

The next step for us is a cross-cultural missions and church planting school this summer. This school is specifically designed to train us for what awaits us in Japan. It will help us hit the ground running, and will give us the tools we need to keep from burn out or flame out. It will equip us for ministry in a non-western context, as well as allow us to seek the Lord and His direction for six weeks.

The school is based in Rosarito, Mexico from June 10 to July 22. We will be working directly with a church that was planted from our church in Yorba Linda. They have also planted several churches all over Mexico. We will see how to plant a multiplying church. Current missionaries will come from around the world to teach and pour into us.

The cost of the school for the two of us is $4600, so we will need some help. We are so appreciative for the way that you all have gotten behind us. If you feel led to partner with us, please use the link at the bottom of this email. Thank you for your prayers, they are the most valuable thing that you could possibly give us.

Also, if you know of anyone who has a heart for cross-cultural missions, but don’t know how to start, here is a link to the website for the school. http://sgwm.com/calvary-school-of-missions/ The application process is pretty straight forward and this school is unlike anything else that is available. We’re very excited for what the Lord is going to do through the school.

We have also decided to not go on the Nepal mission trip. We will have a better idea what is next after we return from Mexico, and we can’t wait to tell you all about it.
