It is a privilege and a great honor for me to see fruit in our students’ lives! It makes me feel even more responsible to invest into many more young people who love the Word of God. It makes me so joyful when I see the different ministries that they are doing during their semester break. Sometimes they even go to distant communities to spread the true Word of God. I was able to be in contact with the students through WhatsApp and phone calls. I could support them with prayer and talk with them about how things were going in their ministries. They shared with me the discouraging and encouraging things that they faced while they ministered.

A Bible College Student Reaching Out

Here are some of the things they faced:

“The people do not show much interest as soon as they realize I am talking about God.”

“Some of the people have very strong faith in their idols, so they don’t even want to listen. They say, ‘You know that I am a Hindu, so why are you talking about your God to me? I am doing fine with my gods and godesses, so don’t try to explain to me about your God.'”

A Bible College Student Ministering to Children

“When I tried to teach the pastors (a few of them) what I have learned from Bible College, they were so uneducated in their thinking, that they were more concerned about my age and background than about listening to what I was saying.”

“When I invited my unbelieving friends to come to my house for home fellowships, they faced difficulty with their families. They were asked, ‘What are you doing in a Christian house?'”

“Sometimes when we talk to people they are asking if we were Christians from childhood, or if it is the result of some money transactions to make us convert. Others listen carefully but at the end of the talk they ask about what they could gain (physical benefits) if they accept Jesus. They do not care about heaven and hell because they think they will have 7 more births and deaths in different forms. (They think if they live a good life, in their next birth their god will give them a human form; but if they live a bad life, their god will give them the form of a cat, dog, ant or lizard etc.,) So they are ignorant about heaven and hell. But I told them ‘There is only one life that is eternal. It depends on your decision before you die whether you will be in fire or heaven eternally.'”

“In some villages if anyone accepts Jesus as his or her Savior then that person has to leave the family and village and live on his own. And some already have the wrong impression about Christianity because of their past experiences. (They might have been deceived by people who say they are Christians.) So, they don’t even let us speak to them.”
“If I talk with people about quitting drinking alcohol, then some of them say ‘I’ve seen people drinking alcohol who say they are Christians, so why are you telling us to stop this and to listen about your God?'”

“When I talk to young people in the villages they are so influenced with the current trends and movies, that all they want to do is live their dreams before they die. BUT when some people, who know me as a Christian, are going through some difficulties in their daily lives they ask me to pray for problems. So I take time to introduce Jesus to them. “
The things listed above are the things that students are facing during their semester break. But whatever happens, they keep moving forward to show and communicate the most urgent need of people: the forgiveness of their sins by a Holy God.

“Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven whose sin is covered” Psalm 32:1

Please continue to pray for the students who have received training and are now serving in different areas of this nation. Pray that as they are ministering, God would speak and soften the people’s hearts and make them realize their need of salvation and a relationship with the one true God.

Thank you all!

God bless you,
Pastor 7*
