Standing Firm in the Lord

Beloved prayer partners and financial supports,

Thank you for partnering with us in the ministry of the Gospel through your support and prayers. I don’t know how many of you are aware of the increased persecution in our country and specifically in our state. Every Sunday churches are attacked, pastors and believers are beaten and church assets are destroyed. These Hindu radicals come with policemen. The police are there for the safety of the Hindus, not for the Christians. The police are pressured by the government to not register a case against these Hindus, but to threaten Christians that they will register a case against them for converting Hindus. In our state we have an anti-conversion law that allows the police to arrest Christians. The arrested person would be in jail for at least ten years.

We had a protest rally in the city against these attacks on churches. More than fifteen hundred people participated in the protest rally. Muslims and other minority groups (including low caste people groups) also gave their support and were part of this rally. These non-Christians people are standing with Christians to raise their voice against attacks on churches because they are also persecuted in other states of the country. High caste people want to make our country a Hindu country where they would be the rulers and the low caste people would be their slaves. In order to prevent them from doing so, the minorities and low caste people feel that they must be united.

We need your prayers for us and for all of the Christians.

Twice my wife was invited to share the Word in two-day long Women’s Conventions in two different cities. She had a wonderful time with the women, encouraging them to stand firm in their faith in the Lord. Most of the women are the only believers in their family. They face persecution from their families. They are beaten by their husbands. Some of them have been left by their husbands. Still they love the Lord and have not denied Him.
Thank you for your prayers!
