Serving Calvary Loreto, BCS Mexico

David and I are excited to share this update with all of you. We have been busy serving as Missionaries at Calvary Loreto in Baja California Sur, Mexico, where the Lord is doing amazing things in and through His church. We feel privileged to be part of this vibrant community to spread the gospel and make disciples, as Jesus says in Matthew 28:19-20. David is still teaching verse by verse through the book of Acts on Wednesday night. This is such a blessing to watch so many people hunger for a deeper relationship with Jesus.

We are also making weekly house visits, sharing meals, and fully immersing ourselves in the culture of the people of Loreto. We have been here in Loreto for over 4 1/2 years and now have a Spiritual family in Mexico that are so loving. They are our family in Christ and we are all growing together.

We had our 4th Anniversary at Calvary Loreto this past February. It has been miraculous to witness lives and families transforming from the darkness, or having no knowledge of the meaning of Christianity, and stepping out in faith these past four years.

Our life group on the outside of town is thriving through Miguel and his wife Bernice’s obedience to the calling on their lifes. We have had the pleasure of a front row seat to watch these two grow in their marriage and in their walk with Christ. Please pray for them as they are moving forward to plant a Calvary Church outside of Loreto, early next year, in Cabo San Lucas. Pray for their protection and direction for their lives.
David is still leading the Men’s group faithfully, which has grown to around 20 men every week. This group of men is working every week to be the men that God created them to be. David says he has seen such growth in these men as they become the husbands, fathers, and sons that God called them to be. Please pray for these men that they continue their growth as real men of Christ and that David continues to honor God and make these men disciples.
We are continuing to serve bags of groceries every other week to those in need. This is a much-needed resource for families in need, as they can not afford things that we call needs, like baby diapers/wipes or feminine hygiene products. If it is in your heart to help in this area, it is an area where we are short on funds every month. We get the opportunity to go into their homes and bring food while offering to pray with them and talk to other family members who might not know about Christ. We do this always in the name of Jesus.
Our beach baptism is one of the most rewarding things we do. We had 17 people step out in faith and tell the world they are followers of Christ. It brings joy and tears of happiness when this happens. We do it at the beach so everyone who drives by sees us and asks us, “What is going on? This allows us to share the gospel and invite them to enjoy a hot dog and hang out. “Through the power of Jesus’ blood, lives are being transformed in remarkable ways!”.

David and I could not do any of this work that God has called us to do without the prayers and financial support from all of you. We love you, and thank God for you coming alongside us to do the work of the ministry. Psalm 128:2 states, “You will eat the fruit of your labor; blessings and prosperity will be yours”. This is all your fruit.

This year has been tough for David and me. There are days that we feel attacked (physically, mentally, and spiritually) beyond what we can handle, but we find that the Lord is always faithful and provides for our needs, as well as the needs of our church families. He is our redeemer and savior, and we rely on him for everything.

Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope

Please pray for healing, as I was informed both knees need replacements. The Lord will heal me in His perfect timing and in His way.

Pray for our marriage, that we can continue to be examples of Jesus as we walk in victory.

Please pray for our financial support as we have been in the mission field for over 7 years now, and it is getting tough to support all the work we want to do.

We thank you and Love You, and we know that God is victorious and He is in control.

Opportunities to Rejoice! Mullins Update November 2024

Where did the year go? When we’re fully engaged in meaningful work and focused on a higher purpose, days blend together, and before we know it, a year has gone by. David and I are thankful for the opportunity to serve God and His people here in Loreto, Mexico. As David & I continue our ministry in Mexico, we’re continually amazed by the doors God is opening and the blessings He’s pouring out. We feel incredibly blessed to be part of a thriving bilingual church community at Calvary Loreto, where we’ve seen God’s hand at work in wonderful ways. Thank you for reading this brief update on what the Lord has been doing in our lives and this community.

Most of you know that the building Calvary Loreto is currently renting is being sold. We have been in prayer on what to do and feel through the Holy Spirit we have been led to purchase some land to build a new church. Last week, Calvary’s ” Real Men of Christ” gathered to pray over the piece of land we believe will be the future home of our church. Pastor Elmer and I had the privilege to step forward in faith and sign a contract for this land. We need to make 4 payments over the next 8 months to secure this property before we can start to build. Please be praying for the Lord’s will in all of this as we step out in faith to raise all the funds to secure this land. We invite you to join us in this journey of faith! If you feel called to contribute, please know that 100% of your donation will go directly to the purchase of the land and the construction of our new church building.

Our men’s group” Real Men of Christ” is going strong. David is leading this group of men in their walk with Jesus to become the men God created them to be. He is seeing so many of these men being transformed week after week. Each week, 15 to 20 men show up to be taught the word of God and share how they can apply the word of God to their lives. This group is creating a space where men can be honest with one another about their challenges, victories, and spiritual struggles. Through praying over one another, lifting each other, and “iron sharpening iron” they’re discovering the strength and freedom that come from walking together in faith.
We had the opportunity to come alongside The Connection House ministry and do a movie night on the beach. This was a great way to invite non-believers to a church-friendly event. About 300 people came to the event to enjoy some nachos, popcorn, and a movie. We were able to give the gospel message and also invite them to Calvary Loreto. At least 3 new families now call Calvary Loreto their home because of this outreach. God is good always.

Our weekly life group in an area outside of Centro, Loreto is continuing to be fruitful with up to 20 people showing up. Miguel and Bernice who are faithful servants lead this group and are preparing to go out and plant a church (God willing) sometime next year. We serve a meal every week to feed them physically then we give the word of God to feed their souls. We had the privilege and honor of baptizing our first person from this life group last month. God is doing amazing things through this life group. Please keep praying for lives to be saved in this area and also for Miguel and Bernice’s calling from the Lord.

The Biweekly Blessing table is going well. We are currently able through your financial commitments to give out about 50 to 60 bags of groceries a month to those that need food. Also, we can share serving opportunities with church members by shopping and preparing food bags to be distributed at church. We are short every time of around 10 to 15 bags of food but know that in God’s timing, His will may be done. Please pray about coming alongside us financially as this need is greatly needed for quite a few of the church members.

Thank you to all of you who continue to pray for David and I in our ministry here in Loreto Mexico. It is a great blessing to be able to serve our Lord and Savior in the calling he has for our lives. It isn’t always easy but we are so thankful that at this time in our lives we can do the will that God has for us. If you feel led to support any of the ministries we are involved in please know that 100% goes to the work of the ministry. We could never do this work without your prayers and financial support. Everything that happens here for the Kingdon of God is your spiritual fruit so Thank You and Blessings to you all

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.” Jeremiah 29:11

Thank you, everyone. Have a wonderful holiday season celebrating our Lord in the coming months.

August Calvary Loreto Update

The summer has been heating up here in Loreto. David and I have been keeping busy serving the Lord here in Loreto with many faithful servants. Seeing God’s purpose for our lives here through his church Calvary Loreto has been such an amazing time. We thank all of you who have continued to pray and financially support us, none of this work could be done without your faithfulness.

Calvary Loreto has been able to start its 3rd life group in one of the poorest areas of town. This weekly life group has grown up to 25 people who are hungry for the word of God. Through your support, we have been able to teach and share the word of God and begin a weekly feeding ministry. Where we can share a meal with them. This allows us to show the love of Jesus through actions while also meeting the need for food for them. Additionally, our church van has added this location to its route on Sunday mornings to pick up people who have been unable to attend church without transportation. Please pray that the Lord continues to provide for this weekly feeding ministry as its growth continues weekly.

Calvary Chapel decided to change up our baptisms this time around and rented a location with a pool. It was a huge success with many blessings for everyone. After Sunday service we gathered and had a time of worship and fellowship along with food-eating competitions. We had the opportunity to baptize 14 people who wanted to take the next step of faith in their walk with Jesus,

In July we took a team of faithful servants on a one-day mission trip to a small village of about 300 people in the rural mountains to do a children’s and movie outreach in a pueblo named ” San Javier”. We were able to play games with all the children along with providing a meal for over 75 people. Through this mission trip we were able to share the gospel message with those who might not have ever heard it and praise be to God, (2) adults accepted Christ into their lives. Praying for continued provisions to be able to continue these mission trips up in San Javier every few months to continue the good work that was started.
David is teaching on Wednesdays chapter by chapter verse by verse through the book of Acts. We are so Blessed that God is using David to preach and use his gifts. Please keep him in prayer for continued wisdom and strength to honor God and to always be teaching truth with boldness and love.

David is leading the men’s group every Monday night. These men are growing so much in their walk with Jesus. They are becoming the Men that God created them to be. So many of their lives are transforming right before our eyes. They are sharing in the breakout groups along with praying for each other. For some, this is the very first time they are sharing openly with other men. Satan is continually attacking these men as they are truly becoming a new creation. Becoming disciples. Please pray for these men and their ministry it is such a blessing

It wouldn’t be an update without the children. Our children’s ministry is nothing more than spectacular. The teachers had the children perform during a Sunday for Father’s Day and I don’t think there was a dry eye in the house. We are seeing these children start to grow so much in their love for Jesus. We see them praying and treating one another with love and respect. We pray this next generation here in Loreto, Mexico will be a God-led generation. Loving God with all their hearts.

We thank you all for your continued prayers. David and I are serving the Lord here in Loreto, Mexico, and truly believe this is where we are meant to be. Somedays are much tougher than we would like or even think we are equipped to handle but God is good and faithful. He has a purpose and plan. We could never do this work here without your prayers and financial support. Everything that happens here for the Kingdom of God is your fruit as well so thank you and Blessing to you all. “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.”
